Reuben: stale bread, not grilled, very little Swiss cheese, "corned beef" was 3 slices of very thin "meat" that appeared to come out of a Hormel container. Riding MC stopped by for lunch. It was a busy time for the town due to Halloween celebration. Traffic was crazy but they did have free parking. It is a typical small bar/restaurant with maybe 10 inside booths and a bar. They also had outside seating in the back which really was pretty nice. We had the bone in wings with lemon pepper dry rub and they were meaty and very good. They also had draft beer (+1). The only complaint was we got the wings after a pretty long wait and they weren't busy. We were done with our wings when the small order of fries finally arrived. A cool little place and just recently opened. Located in the heart of Ball Ground right on Main Street. With old time exposed brick and wooden floors makes this a perfect casual establishment to grab a burger or some very tasty Mexican food. With a full bar, some local brews and great service and very enjoyable servers and bartenders. The appetizer "Trio" with Queso, Salsa and Guacamole was very good. I love it when the chips come out warm and fresh. I was very impressed with all the main entrées we ordered. The Southwest Steak Bowl and Chicken Bowl were both very tasty with all the toppings and big portions. The Steak Nachos was huge. With plenty of cheese, peppers and covered in soft juicy tender steak. Carnitas Wrap was delicious. Very generous portion of savory shredded pork with an abundance of flavorful add ons. I tried out another local eatery this time it was the Ball Ground Tavern. They don't disappoint at all, their food is very filling. I tried the chicken salad, it's loaded with lots of chicken strips, cucumbers, tomato, mixed lettuce, big pieces of avocado, and black beans. I ate every bit of this delicious salad. My husband had a steak bowl and said it too was delicious. We hopped on to some loaded chicken fries and that's a whole meal by itself. The potatoes were a little undercooked but that was ok, we skipped it into our air fryer to reheat and crunch up the fries a bit more. It is still a very delicious option when dinning in. The shrimp taco and quesadilla were a big hit too. Sadly they were sold out of the key lime pie, I hear their desserts are epic. Maybe next time, because we will come visit your establishment. I give your spot five stars because the food is hearty, filling and worth every penny. It's flavorful with lots of different textures for your tastebuds to explore. Don't trust the beer prices, last time I was there the menu said bottle beer is 4 dollars. But he doesn't tell you he charges 35 cents tax and he never gave me change back. So beer is really 5 dollars a bottle. read more

You should try this place and won't be disappointed. We ordered street tacos (chicken and steak). Absolutely delicious! Service was great. It was Halloween night and they weren't too busy (lucky us). The restaurant is small, but they have the back patio, besides the bar seats and regular tables. We definitely will be back. read more

Wow! Surprise surprise. We took a drive from Roswell and happened upon the Tavern and SOOOOOO GLAD we did. Wait staff AMAZING and the food... off the hook. I ordered the braised pork bowl (server recommendation) and my husband ordered the fish tacos... mine was incredible and so was my husband's meal! Pretty decent for a small mountain town. This is more of a Mexican joint than a traditional tavern in my opinion. The inside is pretty small with limited seating, but they have a large deck out back. Menu is small which is always a good sign. Lots of Mexican dishes: tacos, quesadillas, fajita salads. I got the carnitas wrap and it was enough food for me for a lunch. Also got the trio dip with chips. My family of four paid about $76 to dine here. Given the location that was expected and it was probably worth it. read more

We stopped in on a rainy night- Greeted by Jose and Angie was our waitress. They were the nicest engaging people. We ordered the tamales as an appetizer- they tasted authentic! I would have taken a picture but they were eaten up too quickly! My son ordered the chicken Philly- I tried a bite--delish as were his fries, hot and fresh. Husband ordered the steak tex mex tacos- he loved them. I tried the beef carnita wrap it was a large portion, I could only eat half, but IT WAS DELICIOUS. I'm sorry, but it's time BG raises it standards of food and catches up with the rest of surrounding areas. This is NOT a tavern. This is a Mexican restaurant. And not even good Mexican food at that. Not one healthy option, not even a salad on the menu. When I asked if they had one off the menu they said yes, they had a garden salad. Great... A plate came out with shredded iceberg (likely out of a bag), old cucumbers and frozen avocado (which indicates those are also ordered precut and come in frozen, lazy)...no dressing to be found. It was pitiful. The wings were mediocre at best, but that's hard to mess up. Asked for all flats and of course didn't get that either. The ranch was obviously out of a bottle. Yuck. I would go here for the cute patio and have drinks but what a missed opportunity for a good concept to go into that space. So disappointed. read more

We stopped in for a quick bite on a Tuesday evening and unfortunately it was not the experience we had hoped for. We had expected dive bar food based on the feel and decor inside but the pricing was pretty high for the quality. Chicken tenders and fries that were a 7/10 were $13.00. We also got the waffle nachos which were tasty. These were the highlight! The service was why the review didn't get a higher review. It seemed as though the staff weren't assigned tables or areas and got to us when they were able to and did not communicate efficiently to each other. I asked for ketchup for the chicken and fries when the bartender brought our food and after about 10 min of waiting, I Asked the other waitress. I then received it from both workers. The bartender seemed very friendly with the customers at the bar but did not say much to my husband and I which seemed odd and somewhat off-putting. With some changes, this place could be a great spot for downtown Ball-ground! read more

Service was terrible. I think our waiters was high had a hard time keeping up with the order. There were only 5 adults and one kid. Came time to check out and he really got lost. I've visited this little tavern twice now and both times have been pleasantly surprised. I had the braised pork bowl and I highly recommend it. It was so good that I got it again on my second visit. The service is always good, especially if you sit at the bar. We were given free samples of cocktails and shots, all of which were good. If you want an upscale ambiance, go elsewhere. But if you want good food, good service, and a laid back friendly atmosphere, do yourself a favor and give this place a try. read more

We were in on Memorial Day for our first time after visiting Gibbs Gardens. The food was outstanding. Onion ring appetizer came out fast and perfect. Crispy, not over battered, and with a chipotle dip to die for. Shrimp tacos, Tamales, and Burrito landed just after the onion rings were gone. All was really outstanding. They had burgers and other Bar food that looked great as it went by, but the outstanding Latino fare was a delight, a surprise, and very tasty! read more

Great updated renovation, with cute outdoor area. Menu is very limited. Street tacos are tough to eat as they give one corn tortilla that is already falling apart before you pick it up. Not sure what is going on with the wait staff but, service was extremely slow and server had trouble answering questions about a menu with about 12-15 items on it. She never came back to check on us.
