"There's something magical about rooftops. You feel like you're in 'Mary Poppins."…read moreGeorge Clarke There really is something special about being on a rooftop on a perfect summer evening, and it's great to have it right in downtown Sugar Hill. I would like to say I planned the perfect date, but as some of the best things in life, this was just an impromptu visit to cap off an already great evening. Outside of being on the rooftop, the bar itself is upscale yet approachable, service was fast and friendly. Being a bit of a self engrandized home bartender I'm a bit critical when out of my home lab, but their Smoked Old Fashioned wasn't bad. ("Wasn't bad" really means very good.") While I don't love the prices and hate paying a cover charge, when you throw in live music, a great vibe, and a view, I can't really complain. The owner made an announcement that whoever tipped the band $10 would get a free drink, and since most drinks were over $15 I thought that was cool on many levels. Will definitely be back to The Rooftop!

We walked around and finally ran into a waitress who told us to sit anywhere we wished inside or outside. The only area festive was inside a closed igloo and no heaters were on outdoors which was just a tad too cool for me despite the super nice weather that day. It would have been so to sit outside but without the warmth of the heaters we headed inside. We placed our order and explained we were just there for a pre-dinner drink and wanted to check out the venue so we didn't leave our tab open but we were quickly served the fabulous taking drinks on their menu(s). The Old Fashioned was on the regular menu and the Russian was on their seasonal tabletop menu. Server was very nice and took photos for some ladies we met. The only reason I can't give them a 5 star is they claim they are big on hospitality but yet we were not acknowledged upon arrival. Many restaurants and even some retail stores have a way to ensure they say hello/welcome immediately when you enter and without a hostess - the mindset should be that the bar or wait staff have a way to immediately say hello or welcome so those who have never been feel welcomed as well as those who frequently come. It would be nice to have a more festive decor for the holidays but that didn't affect my review; just a statement to say that the entire Sugar Hill area was pumping and themed with the holiday spirit then we walked in the only area decorated was not even accessible nor was it offered as an option to enjoy.

Write the song title on a scrap of paper and put your tip down! The more you pay, the sooner they play. Pace yourself on song selections and tip money. The best pop & rock classics are played later in the evening. The pianists are fun, funny, and good at what they do. Consummate entertainers. We laughed, cried, listened, and sang along. If they don't know the song, they will still play it if you give them a minute. They go to the back and listen to a few bars, perhaps read the lyrics then come out and perform. No refunds. So we sat at a high top for 4. It was their Thursday BOGO wing night. Order from a good selection of flavours but no later than quarter to 8. The evening wasn't terribly busy but the understaffed bar was having some challenges. We gave our orders after a bit of a wait. They arrived piping hot and they were all good. The service was great if you have a little patience. It was a great night out with our friends

My husband and I decided to share fried pickles and the Pimento Cheese Brisket Sandwich with sweet potato tots. Sad thing is, I was so excited to try it, I didn't take pictures first. The fried pickles are thicker sliced with a panko breading and wonderful; not at all greasy. The sandwich is a monster! It looks the way it does in the picture because we took it apart because I don't know how anyone could get it into their mouth! The brisket was generous on there and thick, tender, delicious slices. The pimento seems freshly made with a little kick (not spicy) and bacon is perfectly cooked with some tomato and Texas toast that's not greasy. And those tots? Addictive! And not to be forgotten, our server, Georgia was the sweetest, most helpful young lady. She was not only really on top of everything, she was genuinely happy when we told her how much we enjoyed everything. Good people like her should be treasured! We will be back much more often!

When my friends and I arrived there, we were impressed at the professional look of the set up. The Dam Bar featured full lighting, smoke machines, and a great DJ and PA set up. The actual stage set up was the best feature of the venue, in my opinion. 4 people could play full band karaoke each with their own high definition screens as well as audio monitors at your feet. Their Rock Band library was the biggest single selection I have personally ever seen! This is an impressive collection of almost every available track for the game, including track packs, Rock Band store songs, and the Green Day: Rock Band export pack. There is definatly something for everyone at Rock Band Atlanta. Fans of the game would respect the work they put into their set up and organization, and the casual attendee can't help but be swept into the excitement of the atmosphere. I saw experienced players mingling with the guy who just came in for a sandwich and a couple beers, and everyone was having a great time. I would highly recommend attending a Rock Band Atlanta event if you live in the area, or stop by if you are passing through the area...you will be glad you did!

Darling was amazing to work with, she helped me coordinate and adjust our numbers since one family couldn't make it. We were very excited to have a great meal! Upon showing up, we parked our cars in the lot and went in. They had live music in two different areas, and in the main space a giant buffet that spanned the outside of the space. There was a bar set up outside the meal areas so we could get cocktails and wine by the glass we ended up ordering a couple bottles at the table. There was a lot of people enjoying themselves. The drive to the lodge was beautiful, it was a colder day but the sun was out and everyone got to have some great food and still enjoy themselves and the day. Thanks again to the team here, from the servers and runners to the hosts. We had a great time. Special shout out again to Darling for her help with this.
