~Rude/inexperienced manager in the music venue ~$17 grilled chicken Cesar salad had five tiny croutons size pieces of chicken mixed in with 12 croutons, and lettuce was soaked in Cesar dressing, very disappointing. ~ Venu is echoey ~BBQ Sliders 3/$14 were okay (wife's comment) ~Smelled like someone smoking powdered drugs in the ladies' bathroom (My wife's experience) had a very chemical odor. ~ Security staff was friendly ~ Server was friendly and the crappy salad came out fast. ~Good Coverband venue, touring acts would be wise to book elsewhere. ~ Venu was clean ~ The attached restaurant looked nice. ~Advice: Eat before you go see a cover band.

We had a great time at Boot Barn Hall tonight!! It's a wonderful dinner + concert venue. We got there when the doors opened (6pm for a 7:30 concert) and were shown quickly to our table. There are probably 50ish 8-top tables on the main floor, then a wraparound balcony with 8-person (single table) box seats. There is table service throughout the concert. Our waitress quickly took our drink order - several beers on tap, more in cans, and cocktails. Our beers arrived and we placed our dinner order. We both ordered the signature brisket sandwich - mine with Mac n cheese, his with baked beans. Everything was very tasty. We followed dinner with the chocolate cake for two... it's more like cake for eight!! Very very good. We went to see Blackhawk. Josh Courson was the opening act, and he was really good! Blackhawk was WONDERFUL! You can tell they love what they do! The sound in the venue is very good, as well. We will definitely return when in the area again.

    What a great venue!

"There's something magical about rooftops. You feel like you're in 'Mary Poppins."…read moreGeorge Clarke There really is something special about being on a rooftop on a perfect summer evening, and it's great to have it right in downtown Sugar Hill. I would like to say I planned the perfect date, but as some of the best things in life, this was just an impromptu visit to cap off an already great evening. Outside of being on the rooftop, the bar itself is upscale yet approachable, service was fast and friendly. Being a bit of a self engrandized home bartender I'm a bit critical when out of my home lab, but their Smoked Old Fashioned wasn't bad. ("Wasn't bad" really means very good.") While I don't love the prices and hate paying a cover charge, when you throw in live music, a great vibe, and a view, I can't really complain. The owner made an announcement that whoever tipped the band $10 would get a free drink, and since most drinks were over $15 I thought that was cool on many levels. Will definitely be back to The Rooftop!

We walked around and finally ran into a waitress who told us to sit anywhere we wished inside or outside. The only area festive was inside a closed igloo and no heaters were on outdoors which was just a tad too cool for me despite the super nice weather that day. It would have been so to sit outside but without the warmth of the heaters we headed inside. We placed our order and explained we were just there for a pre-dinner drink and wanted to check out the venue so we didn't leave our tab open but we were quickly served the fabulous taking drinks on their menu(s). The Old Fashioned was on the regular menu and the Russian was on their seasonal tabletop menu. Server was very nice and took photos for some ladies we met. The only reason I can't give them a 5 star is they claim they are big on hospitality but yet we were not acknowledged upon arrival. Many restaurants and even some retail stores have a way to ensure they say hello/welcome immediately when you enter and without a hostess - the mindset should be that the bar or wait staff have a way to immediately say hello or welcome so those who have never been feel welcomed as well as those who frequently come. It would be nice to have a more festive decor for the holidays but that didn't affect my review; just a statement to say that the entire Sugar Hill area was pumping and themed with the holiday spirit then we walked in the only area decorated was not even accessible nor was it offered as an option to enjoy.

When my friends and I arrived there, we were impressed at the professional look of the set up. The Dam Bar featured full lighting, smoke machines, and a great DJ and PA set up. The actual stage set up was the best feature of the venue, in my opinion. 4 people could play full band karaoke each with their own high definition screens as well as audio monitors at your feet. Their Rock Band library was the biggest single selection I have personally ever seen! This is an impressive collection of almost every available track for the game, including track packs, Rock Band store songs, and the Green Day: Rock Band export pack. There is definatly something for everyone at Rock Band Atlanta. Fans of the game would respect the work they put into their set up and organization, and the casual attendee can't help but be swept into the excitement of the atmosphere. I saw experienced players mingling with the guy who just came in for a sandwich and a couple beers, and everyone was having a great time. They only offer one size but the pints are always served ice cold and are very fresh. Ambiance. They always have the best music on the televisions with videos, it is an 80s mix most regularly and the volume is great for a place to hang out and chill with friends. They also offer a karaoke night and have live music on weekends. We have never heard a band here we did not enjoy. Comfort, large clean dining area, and with the music you do not overhear every conversation around you while you are sitting at a table or booth but you can still converse easily. When this location opened in Dawsonville, they definitely were a solid 5/5 stars in every category. The food was cooked to order and seasoned to perfection, and the service was always fast and good. For the first few months, there was a line for a seat on most nights. Our last several visits have left us highly disappointed in the food category and the service. On our last two visits, our food took forever and arrived undercooked and cold. These were not busy times, and there were lots of staff members. It took 37 minutes before our waitress came to our table to take our drink order on the last visit. Once we ordered our beer and shrimp appetizer the food arrived quickly, and the fried Buffalo shrimp was excellent. I asked for napkins and serving plates and we finally decided to use our fingers to eat the fried shrimp while it was still warm. The shrimp appetizer had plenty of sauce, which we like but with no napkins, our tails were left on the table and we had to go to the restrooms to wash the sauce off our hands. We waited fifteen minutes after our shrimp was done to catch our server's attention and ask about our beers and place our entree order. I again asked for napkins and plates. We ordered wings and asked for them to be cooked so that the coating was crispy and extra sauce on them. When they arrived at the table, they were dry, and the skin was still stretchy. I returned to the restroom and returned to our table with a handful of the roller paper towels so we could begin to eat. When our server arrived with our beers, I again asked for napkins and plates to put the bones on. and she went and grabbed them for us. At the end of the evening, the restaurant was still only half full on a Saturday night. It was no wonder for us as to why their business seems to have dropped substantially. Our $72 bill for dry, undercooked wings and poor service was not worth the cost. While I would say it could be an individual staff issue, this was our fifth visit with the food and service having been terrible. It is most likely a management or lack of management issue. We will most likely return for the Buffalo Shrimp appetizer, cold beer, and great music but will pass on the wings and other entree menu items until they get their act together.

The wings were quite tasty, and they have a decent variety of sauce flavors to choose from which is a good thing. I also went for the street corn, which was excellent. The building decor and design in itself is a treat--in an artsy and historical style--but the sound system in that hall was on fire! The line outside wasn't terrible, and the staff and security were all very respectful and laid back. No drama. Fair warning, they let me in with my mini-backpack but tossed any snacks I had in it. No biggie! So, if you find yourself touring around Centennial Park and want to catch a show, it's not too hard. The main floor allows for the party to really happen, but only for those who can endure standing for hours at a time as it's standing only. There's a floor level for VIPs, which I bet was totally worth the money. We sat up in the balcony, so we could sit and see it all. Whew! The seats are very snug! I'm only 5'3", and it was a squeeze for my legs. My 6'1" hubby said he was ok, but his legs were open the entire show to fit. On that note, be prepared for LOTS of stairs! Drinks were tasty and made well. My pizza wasn't exceptional in any way, but it was edible for bar food. And really, the bartenders were all friendly and patient. Just a cool night altogether. Great experience for a small-venue show on a date, with girlfriends, or a big group of fans alike! We saw James Blake, and the only issue I had was the bright flashing lights. I had to squint by the end of the show. But it didn't seem to bother the other thousand in the hall.
