One of the best beer fests I've been too. I've been to suwanee beer fest 5 years in a row and this one tops them all due to the fact that it was organized , plenty of bathrooms, breweries that were new, more food trucks, Steve Perry cover band,, different games, optional seltzer and lemonade , cbd tents and my favorite local breweries. We bought the VIP 3-pack at last years Wine Fest; this is our first time attending the Beer Fest and we had a great time! The VIP tent makes it so much better. Catering by Marlowes and access to some really fantastic reserve beer makes it worth the extra money. Not much of a crowd inside the tent, but after they opened the gates, lines started piling up quick. Still, no waits more than a couple minutes, unless you wanted to use the VIP bathrooms. They really needed more... BTW, if you had a problem with traffic or parking, it's because you didn't take Uber. It's a BEER FEST; don't drive!!! We won't make the mistake of missing this event again... read more

What a great event. A ton of people well managed by great volunteers and an organized staff. Suwanee's Town Center is large beautiful space that was able to handle such a large group of people without us feeling like we were on top of each other or always bumping into on another. The weather wasn't too warm or too cold, but the wind was an attendee of its own. So much so, that you didn't realize the sunburn you were getting while hanging out all afternoon. One of the vendors should have been smart and had sunscreen as a schwag giveaway. All the great beer vendors came out to show off their kegs while some of the great food folks came and fed us to make sure we were okay to drive after the event. There were even turkey legs! All in all it was a great experience, the people were fun and the vendors were really friendly. I would say it was a big success. read more

I had a lot of fun at this beer fest. Suwanee's Town Center is new and beautiful. Admittance was handled nicely by the staff and we were inside the gates far before I thought possible (considering the length of the line). Everyone was pretty friendly and the crowd was quite mellow. People were overall polite, even after a few hours when we were all tipsy (or drunk)! The selection of beers was pretty good. I found some old favorites and some new favorites, too. I do wish they had rinse stations. I only found one water fountain in the entire park; pretty much EVERYONE was using it to rinse their beer glasses. When you're at a craft beer festival, it's really important be able to cleanse the palate between tastes, especially if you're going back and forth between porters, IPAs, etc. All in all it was a great experience. I hope to attend again next year. I'm glad they decided to do it in the spring instead of August, like last year. Next time I attend, I will also remember to wear sunscreen. Ouch. read more

Suwanee Town Center's a nice facility for this beer festival. There's an amphitheater with bands playing at one end of the green. The green is surrounded by some neo-traditional Main Street architecture. Parking and access seems abundant. Admission was well managed and relatively efficient. Most of my favorites were there. There were some new faces that blew me away (must go find Son of a Peach!). Also appreciated are the numerous eateries surrounding the site to support sobering activities. Moving the festival to the end of March from the middle of summer seems like a good idea. The weather was gorgeous, but high heat and the lack of shade on the green could have become oppressive. The tasting glass was plastic and came with a fill line at 3oz. Although I like me some nice pint glasses, this seems like the best idea I've seen yet for the vessel at a beer fest: No dropped broken glass from someone who had a couple too many tastes; No goofy juice glass that I can't quite justify throwing out. read more

For value, this is probably the least oney I've paid to get into an unlimited beer festival. Do yourself a favor and go 30 minutes before they open to get parking and get in line. They let people in very slowly, thats good for the early birds. I was able to make it through once without lines. Later though, the bathroom lines were rediucouls. Not enough porty potty for the amount of tickets they sold. the breweries themselves, I found towards the end were getting volunteers. They were not able to tell me anything about the beers. They didnt know what things were. Bring yourself a bag of pretzels. The food is expensive and whatever. Maybe next year they can get some gourmet foodtrucks to make me want to pay money for the food there. I probably won't go back. Its mostly local beers, not alot of out of state beers. Unless they bring in more breweries next year. read more

As beer festivals go, this one does not compare to the better ones in the Atlanta area, such as Decatur. Too many tickets are sold, entrance is always a mess, the bathroom lines are not well managed and all the beer stalls are crammed in to one part of the park read more

I love this beer fest! I've gone 4 years in a row and they're always improving things! Definitely take an Uber/Lyft or get someone to pick you up and drop you off. This past 2018 fest, there were some pretty high surges in both Uber and Lyft and I think I paid around $40 to go home 5 miles away. As long as you eat a good meal before going, you'll be good. Bring snacks! Lots of selection, and I love how they have the Georgia Beer section so you know what is local vs out of state. I always see people I know, and it's always a fun day. As long as you're responsible, you're good. read more

SO WHAT EXACTLY HAVE YOU BEEN DOING OVER THE PAST EIGHT YEARS? The first time we attended Suwanee Fest (no beer), we were very disappointed because at that time it was very small with limited entertainment and the parade was a bust. That was approximately eight years ago and I decided that I really wanted to return this year with the hopes that it would be bigger and better. We arrived very early as usual and were really excited to see that there were more vendors than ever and the parking situation was nicely organized. They actually had three off-site parking areas with shuttle services to handle the crowd. We parked at one of these sights and had a short ride to the event. We always arrive in advance of the parade, so that we can get the lay of the land and get first pick of selected items. If you are arriving on an empty stomach, it is also smart to arrive early and purchase your food prior to the end of the parade because once the parade ends, you will encounter a mob of people trying to get to the food trucks. For the most part we simply eat prior to arriving and avoid the trucks because the prices are very inflated and you simply don't have a lot of healthy options. Also, I prefer traditional meals with vegetables to sandwiches and street food. Just know that if you are "making a day of it", you can bring your own food, chairs, blankets and other items of comfort. While waiting for the parade to start, we walk around and check out the vendors but after a while, realize that they tend to be very similar and there just wasn't enough variety. We eventually find a spot to view the parade and it starts shortly thereafter. Once again, this is the saddest parade I have ever witnessed. It was unorganized, the students looked as if they didn't want to be there, (they weren't smiling or engaging), certain formations were sloppy and participants were "all over the place". Barriers were set up to contain the crowd and it was just not the fun and fuzzy experience I expected. I lasted about five minutes before walking away and that has never happened at any parade. Who walks away from a parade? We later caught the tail end of the parade and it was actually worse than what we witnessed at the beginning. I really don't understand why a community with resources can't figure out how to organize a decent parade! What's the deal? Here's the deal as I see it: Small towns don't have large budgets so they have to be creative. The young people have few community activities and spend much of their time actually rehearsing and practicing so that they deliver a flawless performance. Small towns know that when they host a festival this is their time to shine and put on their "Sunday best"! The participants are smiling and engaging and will stop at random points to entertain the audience. There are no barriers to restrict the kids or the crowd, and when the candy is dumped in the road so that the kids can actually run out and grab it, the entire parade stops and patiently waits. How cool is that? The lack of barriers is great for participants to walk over and hand candy to the little kids and adults. One of the parades gave out delicious strawberries to everyone along the parade route. What?? Ingenious! At this particular parade, we also noticed a huge church presence which we don't experience in more populated areas. One of the churches was giving out full sized bags of M&Ms like it was Halloween. The mayor gave me my first bag because I always scream for treats but the church came along and gave me additional bags so that I had six in all. Of course I shared them and the strawberries with the family. Incidentally, this was one of those towns that had less than 3000 residents. When it comes to parades in larger areas, the Duluth Fall Festival offers a great barrier-free parade consisting of community groups, schools, smiling and engaging participants, classic cars and a great variety of candy. Yes, the candy is important because I have to hustle it for my daughter and she loves chocolate. The Suwanee committee needs to attend and take notes. After eight years and no apparent progress, this festival is definitely off the list of possibilities for me. However, I will say that their children's play area was second to none. They had two large areas dedicated to the kids with lots of inflatables and activities. If you just wanted to just get out of the house on a beautiful day, listen to some music and watch your kids run and play, this would be the perfect opportunity. read more

Had a beautiful day for this festival this year. The food was great, the beer was plentiful, the weather was perfect, and all was well with the world. Glad we could make it this year. It's all you can expect from a beer festival, and was nicely managed. I imagine the prices will increase in 2015, since they sold out early in 2014 (the $80 VIP tix were gone first! and the designated driver tix, and the gen admin tix were gone a few days later). Portajohn availability and placement can probably be planned better, but overall a great event. read more

I love a beer festival and this is one of the better ones! Parking: Not great at all. I live in town so I was surprised to see parking is predominantly residential so I know folks were not happy. If you don't get there early like an hour early you will have to drive around or drive far to find a space. They did have shuttles from two local restaurants, but I was able to find a spot before taking that option. Entry Line: I got there right at 1pm for GA. There were at least 6-8 lines formed. However there were folks checking IDS while waiting on the line. Another person scanned the ticket, another person putting on a wrist band and then another person giving you a cup. And because there was a field prior to the actual gate into the open area, they were able to get people ready and into this area for when the gate officially opened. I was very happy with this set up and it moved. Well done. I grabbed a map, along with my small plastic cup. The map was a little confusing as I needed food first and it was not clear on where it was. I ended up just walking around and walked up on it in the back. They were food trucks so they had to park on the side of the field. There was a good selection of trucks and since I started there, there were no lines. I am not sure how true that remained. Beer tents and lines: So I was excited because I looked at the beer list the day before and there were plenty of new (new to me) breweries and styles of beer. Because I like to go to try new things not just get twisted on unlimited beer. Everyone had a sign with the beers they were pouring so if there was a line I could walk up and see if I wanted to stand on the line. There were some lines and at one point Wicked Weed and Reformation had long lines but they went quick. I never really stood on a line too long. The breweries has a good mix of porters and stouts for my friend and a bunch of sours, Berliner Weiss and Saisons for me! Good mix of beers not just lagers and IPA's. Some notable breweries I got to try were Praire Artisan Ales, Boulevard Brewing, Trimtab Brewing, The Southern Brewing Company, New Belgium, Wild Heaven and Southern Tier. Guinness has a whole tent there with several of their beers. Definitely a great mix a GA breweries and outside of GA. Overall: Great festival! It was not too crowded so lines weren't long or moved well. They have a nice spaced out area and some folks had chairs set up to sit out and listen to the band that was playing. There were places to sit when you needed to take a break. Uber was there making pretzel necklaces, but I think I am going to make my own next time! The bathrooms are never a fun situation. They could have had more on the opposite side of the field and of course there were lines. I'm happy I have new options added to my Untapped and overall had a good time. I would definitely go back to this festival. read more

One and half hour wait to get in. One hour wait to use the few port o toilets. This even is more like a drunken fat party. The shuttle advertised from hem depot left me stranded with a five mile walk back to my car. Stay away like the plague. read more

This was our 5th Suwanee Beer Fest and one of the best but......we decided to spend the extra bucks to be VIP's and were very pleased with all aspects of the upgrade with the exception of the facilities that were offered. I have no idea how many VIP tickets were sold but there should have been many more portable restrooms. Six was, by far, not enough. Are they really that costly? The last thing we wanted to do was stand in restroom lines for long periods of time, as long as 30+ minutes at times. Suwanee Beer Fest organizers, please add more facilities next year. The VIP tent area had plenty of room for, at least, 6 - 10 more. I overheard complaint after complaint regarding this issue. The entire event is really great, just PLEASE add more restrooms. read more

First and last time at this beer fest. The good: venue is great, plenty of bathrooms and decent beer variety. The bad: running out of some beers in the first hour, too many tents that have nothing to do with beer and traffic getting to the event. I don't go to a beer fest to see a psychic, not there to buy a house, shop for ladies dresses, drink wine or learn about a bunch of products that have nothing to do with beer.
