Cumming Fairgrounds is located just 40 miles north of Atlanta. With a wide variety of events, you, your family, and friends are sure to make memories to last a lifetime. There are many different events at this local fairgrounds location. I have been here for an Indian Freedom Mela IFA event which took place couple of weeks back. Had a great time here. Huge parking lot and reasonable priced parking. Great selection of Indian food places to choose from. The event went for all day with parade, shopping, fun and live music. Well organized and helpful staff. A place to relax and share with the family and friends. Ground is huge and hence does not feel badly crowded.

The kids enjoyed the fun houses.

It was so much fun! My kids are 11 and 7 and have only been to 1 fair when they were much smaller. They really enjoyed it and used up the 20 dollars worth of the unlimited pass. My husband and I rode maybe 3 or 4 rides that I could have done without. The unlimited pass was worth it to us because those 4 rides with the kids really were the most fun we've had in a really long time. It was about the memories for us. In any case the fair was small but a great size for us to get enough fun in 4 hours. Wish we could have stayed a little longer. It wasn't to crowded which was nice for a fair also. The food was ok nothing to get too excited about. It was a little more expensive than I would pay for food that quality. We went on a Monday for reference.

This is truly a county fair - rides, exhibits, shows and more all in a space made just for this purpose. Yes, the rides are grossly overpriced (only go on special all you can ride nights), but everything is relatively clean and in good condition. The shows and exhibits were terrific - a cotton gin, tractors, animals, crafts and local vendors. There was a motor cycle show, stunt dogs, and Charlie Daniels! And, it goes without saying, the people watching never disappoints.

I'm honestly not a big fair person, but I figured my daughter would love it, so off went with some friends. She really enjoyed it. She is a big fan of rides and the faster, the better. Unfortunately I tend to get dizzy so I didn't ride even one of them. I hated that she didn't meet the height requirements of some of the roller coasters they had there, but I understand it's for the safety of the kids. We went opening night, and Northside Hospital, who was a sponsor, was kind enough to give free entry and rides to anyone with a Northside badge, so that was a nice perk for the night. So I know some people said it was expensive, but I didn't pay attention to the prices. Parking was fair, and thankfully not a very far walk. There were a ton of people there. They had rides from ferris wheel to small scale roller coasters to crafts to an animal petting farm. So definitely a place with lots to do and see. It's just not my thing. The food was typical standard larger than life fare, with pizza, funnel cakes, hot dogs, cotton candy, ice cream, etc. My daughter loves cotton candy, so she was thrilled to get some. Prices weren't bad for the food. $4 for a slice of pizza, $3 for cotton candy. But there wasn't anything there I was interested in eating, other than the funnel cake. I'd say it's a good place for entertaining your family. It's something I would go to again, only for the sake of my child.

Biggest complaint- More vendors need to take Credit cards. I would spend much more money at the fair if i was able to just slide a card and not have to pull out 20's and watch them fly out of my hands :( Other then that.. Heck of a night to spend with family or friends or a significant other. My hubby and I went with another couple and and we spent close to 200$ when all was said and done. between the food, and rides ( which we only went on 3-4) but we all had a blast. AMAZING people watching opportunities. We were there about 3 hours, and managed to not pay to park , and walk a little further. We went of course on prime night Saturday so the lines were long, but it was worth it. We all really had a great time. I saw they had a tiger show this year? not sure where that fits into the cumming fair... but heck... something for everyone... :) The sky buckets were kind of fun, let you see EVERYTHING and kind of plan your route through the fair. I'm not a fan of heights so between the white knuckles and the closing of the eyes i may have missed a few things ;) but absolutely a yearly tradition for us. and we got some amazing pictures with great friends.

TIME IS A- WINDING DOWN! Christmas in Cumming is the Christmas Arts and Crafts festival that is held annually in December. It is held at the Cumming fairgrounds in the large barn where admission is only one dollar for adults. This festival now in its twentieth year, runs Friday evening (4p-9p) and all day Saturday (10a-5p), so you still have time to run over and browse around. This is the smallest festival I have attended and some of the vendors are ones I have seen at many of the larger festivals throughout the state. Never the less, these festivals are like little pop-up malls because they carry a variety of little shops under one roof. They are the perfect opportunity for being able to shop with several merchants at one time and avoid having to cover great distance. At this particular fair, I enjoyed sampling a couple of delicious treats such as coconut and vanilla almonds and homemade caramel. We ended up purchasing these items and diving in right away. Tonight's fair seemed to feature more "country themed" artists and crafters than the larger fairs or festivals. While I love items that are handmade, they shouldn't look like you raided your junk drawer for parts. When it comes to jewelry, I am only interested in sterling silver and not mystery metals and yes, I am willing to pay more for quality. As a rule, I always eat before attending these festivals because your just don't know what will be available. Tonight there was one vendor available and he basically sold junk food. When we arrived we saw a row of pre-formed chicken patties, fries and corn dogs sitting in the window. *** I don't care how hungry you are, don't purchase food that has been sitting in the window, always ask for a fresh order and be willing to wait. Despite it being small and limited, there were still some nice and creative items available for sale. Also there were many options, (like the homemade creams and soaps), that would make great stocking stuffers. Happy Shopping!

CHRISTMAS FAIR AT LAKE LANIER COLLEGE IN CUMMING…read more This Christmas festival is celebrating its 12th year and I was very surprised to finally discover its existence. This is a two-day festival that takes place inside Lake Lanier college in Cumming, (behind the Collections Shopping Center). There is special outdoor play area for the kids along with concessions if you get hungry. Inside there is a little shop for kids to purchase their gifts. The outside areas needed seating because although we were hungry, we did not want to stand while eating. Also, parents who had children playing in the jump house probably would have appreciated the opportunity to sit as well. There were approximately 90 vendors inside and a variety of items available for sale. We spied cute little fascinators, candles, accessories, jewelry, paintings, wood art, natural/gluten free dog food, Greek treats, and a number of other vendors. There were several unique items that would be great Christmas gifts for those "difficult to buy for" people. Of course I always support my favorite jewelry vendors, (Stones to Wear) because they have such bold and unique pieces and they actually use sterling silver in their pieces instead of some other mystery metal. They sale necklaces, slide earrings and bracelets and if I want a bracelet to match one of their necklace/earring combinations, they will make it for me because I am their favorite customer. (Wink Wink!) Even if you don't want to purchase anything, this is a great place to browse and get some ideas for your own personal projects. Remember, they will be open tomorrow (Sunday), as well. A perfect opportunity for some holiday shopping!

Although the setting is admittedly spectacular, acres of hilly vineyards with views of the mountain behind, and the patio was certainly fancy, the tables each with fire pits in the center providing cheery warmth, the tasting experience itself was sub-par and overpriced. It lacked the authentic feel I've seen in other wineries and seems more of a tourist destination. First thing I noticed is the shockingly high tasting fee of $35 for a flight of 4 2-ounce pours of their choice. No substitutions allowed! Either these are some spectacularly great wines or this is a major rip-off. I passed. But since I was here I decided to have a glass. I got one of their estate-grown Cabernet Sauvignon. It was around $16 but since I was here. It was good, but certainly not worth the $48 they charge for a bottle. For the $35 do you get individual attention, descriptions from the bartender about the wines and about their winery? No. You get 4 labeled glasses to take back to your table. Not worth it. Find another place less touristy, more authentic. That shouldn't be hard. There are like 65 wineries in the area!

The staff did an amazing job at keeping everybody safe. They checked temperatures and asked people to wear masks before getting in line. Groups were also asked to stay six feet away from other groups and to sanitize their hands before entering the building. No photos or touching of actors or props allowed once inside. Because they were only allowing one group at a time, we had a bit of a wait but it was worth the wait! We started at the barn which had a variety of characters and rooms. Once you exit the barn you're directed towards the second part of the attraction, Carnival of Screams. Carnival of Screams is a circus themed attraction inside a tent filled with lots of scary clowns. The whole experience lasted maybe fifteen minutes. My friend and I don't scare easily (we love scary movies), but even we were spooked a few times. The characters and props were well done. We had a frightfully good time and are looking forward to doing it again next year. The entire experience was only $20 per person. Best part, all proceeds benefit the American Cancer Society Relay for Life!
