What a Fanta meat and three. Service was fast, friendly, and good. Ice tea was fresh and made the right strength, not too watery , not too dark. I ordered the meatloaf as my meat. It was cooked like my wife cooks it without any fancy odd flavors. This is the way your granny made it, "or should have". My wife is a connoisseur of meatloaf and never ordered it at a restaurant. One because she can cook it like a champ at home and two, the last time she ordered it was on a cruise ship. It came out with a fancy presentation of parsley , a funky tasting sauce on top and a half boiled egg in the center. "Weird" she spoke of that experience forever aster that and never ordered it away from home again. The version here is not greasy , not to many onions, not too much ketchup. I also had the pinto beans which were cooked low and slow with a little pork. Yes pork, "it's a southern thang". I had to have a green vegetable so I had two. The turnip greens were very good and I sopped up the pot liquor with my cornbread. The slaw was homemade with just the right amount of mayonnaise. Very fine chopped cabbage and seasoned just the way I like it with just a hint of sweetness I'm guessing is sugar. The restaurant is quant and has that southern roadside hometown feel. Very welcoming with plenty of seating. They have both booths and tables. This was a fantastic spot for lunch today, just what the doctor ordered. Well , we'll see when I go for my physical tomorrow. If you are looking for good home cooking , don't miss this spot. I'll definitely be back.

May 2020 - First time back since the Government Lockdown. Annies is open for Dine IN, Take OUT, Pick UP - same great food, same friendly staff.

Fried chicken, homemade Mac and cheese, biscuit and mashed potato. With .50 extra for strawberry shortcake. $9 all in. Wow!

I was in the area for business and wanted to find a local lunch place. I was seated quickly and service was quick and helpful. Waitress gave me daily specials and recommendations. I went with Fried Chicken, Mashed potatoes, Mac and Cheese and biscuit. All homemade for less than $9! For .50 more you get dessert - strawberry shortcake. All were very good. What a value! I will be back!

The pancakes are huge and really good.

Great service by Rene and excellent food. The only thing that just wasn't as good is the cornbread is very dry.

Food was okay. Ordered the meat and three. Some of it was salty and uneditable. Traded for a dessert and didn't eat the dessert either.

It's a neat little place built inside a train boxcar -- narrow but clean, organized, and well laid out. There's plenty of outdoor seating available, not just at Boxcar Grill itself but also next door where you can sit and enjoy your food. Inside seating is comfortable, and everything was nice and clean. I ordered the Train Wreck Smash Burger, and fair warning: it is VERY messy. Chili, fried egg, bacon -- super flavorful and tasty, but you'll want extra napkins. Totally worth it if you don't mind getting a little dirty. I also had the maple bourbon wings, which were sticky, sweet, and delicious. Messy as expected, but cooked well and full of flavor. The curled potato wedge fries were excellent -- crispy, seasoned well, and a great side. Had it all with a Sprite Zero, food came out fresh and hot, and the staff was friendly and welcoming. Overall, this is a great stop whether you're solo, with friends, or with family. Fun concept, good food, and a relaxed small-town vibe. I'd definitely come back.

Fries were unique, and my wife liked them. Overall, a cool little spot and talking rock George by the old train tracks definitely Wjente worth stopping by.

Our server, Dixie, was so kind and couldn't have made me feel more special. They treat you like family here in this lovely little cafe. So good and spicy, it's really well-prepared and delicious! My husband had the chicken salad on a toasted croissant and he loved it as well. He's very picky about chicken and he loves the salad here at Carriage House. This is a really special spot in Jasper. They serve breakfast as well as lunch so be sure to give them a try. The restaurant is cozy with multiple tables and a couple of bar stools (although I've never seen anyone sit at them). The servers are pleasant and refill coffee regularly. The French toast comes with a side. One that's not listed in the "sides" is 2 eggs cooked to order. I ordered them overmedium and they were PERFECTLY cooked. That's an art, my friends! $12 for 3 pancakes and potatoes is ridiculous though- especially with fake maple syrup. The muffins are huge for $4 and they are freshly baked. You can't go wrong with those! We'll definitely be back.

They have excellent chicken biscuits. This was the first time I ventured for lunch. I opted for their signature Rodeo burger. wow is it hot! I mean spicy and temperature. They have a signature sauce that is best described as a spicy barbecue. It was absolutely delicious and big. I could only finish half. Topped with lettuce, tomato, pickled jalapeños, cheese, an onion ring, and their signature Rodeo sauce, I questioned how I would fit it all in. My daughter idly sat by- grinning- while she watched my eyes tear up and face turn red. Nice. The house made cut fries were delicious and inexpensive for ($3). I believe they're $5 if you order them on DoorDash. They were super hot and a generous portion. They have bottled beverages for sale as well as tea and coffee. The service is always consistent and great. I really like that they have a wall for people who can't afford food. You can pre-purchase a meal and put the ticket on the board for someone else. Lots of outdoor seating and they also have a drive through window. Just follow their entrance signs then the enter here sign but somehow missed the order here sign once inside. Thanks to the cashier for waving at us we then got back on track. Cashier was wonderful super nice and friendly. We ordered a couple of the 4 meat platter ($24) with choices of brisket, pulled pork, bbq ribs, turkey and pork sausage. For the sides mashed potatoes, geen beans, mac and cheese and potato salad. All the sides were really good but the meats not so much. The pulled pork was flavorless, brisket was on the dry side, ribs fell of the bone but were also flavorless and could not taste the smoke flavor. Turkey and pork sausage were the best. You get your choices of sauces . I stuck with original sweet bbq. My biggest disappointment was the corn bread. It was actually more of a corn meal muffin. No corn flavor and it was dry. You get two with your platter. I regret not ordering the Texas toast. Overall the place was clean, spacious with plenty of parking, great staff, signs everywhere but not the best bbq food I ever had.
