One of the best meat and three restaurants in Ellijay. Always great lunch selections and great breakfast. Fast service and friendly staff.

Go to KFC it's better. Unseasoned , canned sides, and driest cornbread ever. Very disappointing.

The food stands out right away. The Chicken Chardonnay is rich, perfectly prepared, and full of flavor. The fried shrimp are just as impressive--crispy, fresh, and easily some of the best you'll find. You can tell there's real attention to quality in every dish. The setting adds to the experience. Housed in a building from the 1800s, they've preserved the character beautifully. It has that warm, historic charm that makes you forget you're in North Georgia and not somewhere along the Gulf. Service is just as memorable. Ask for Shannon--she's an absolute gem and elevates the entire experience with her attention and personality. Great food, great atmosphere, and genuinely welcoming service. This is the kind of place you come back to.

The portions continue to get smaller and food temperatures too. Like the orders sat waiting to be served and got cold on the meantime. Although our server was kind and got our order right, she was in no hurry and not very friendly. I don't know if she was not allowed to serve butter with bread or not, but we didn't get any (after my husband had to ask for bread,) but I suspect that if butter had been included it would have been rock hard. I'm well aware of rising operational costs and how trickle-down works, and I'm no stranger to restaurant and kitchen work, but details matter. It's the little things that matter.

The brisket was on point and the pastrami was better than, dare I say, Katz Deli in NYC! If you find yourself in on a busy day just be patient cause it's well worth it, and props to our waitress for handling us during a busy time with no issue; she was a taller lady with blackish hair

Tried to just eat it solo, but only got through a few bites because the pork is super squishy like it was stewed or old and it had a gallon of salt. The ribs were also gummy and super small. The brisket was cut weird. Never seen brisket served this way. But to get ribs as a meat it was an extra $3. Same with the brisket. Yeah check the pic. This is what you get for up charging to ribs. 2 small ribs with no seasoning. And you get one weird slice of brisket for the upcharge as well. Mac and cheese is also big shells made with white cheese. Definitely not southern mac. Side note, their BBQ sauces are good. But the brisket comes with a brisket sauce. It is thousand island dressing. Who puts that on brisket?

The coffee... even without real cream, it was delicious. The corned beef hash was unique in that it was cooked with small chunks of onion a top a bed of breakfast potatoes. It was really tasty and not too salty. My eggs were extra large and cooked to my liking. My husband liked the cheesesteak with amazing wedge cut potatoes. He would get it again. My teenager got the pork chop and eggs. She doesn't like pork and therefore doesn't eat it so I'm not even going to try to write anything about it other than it looked thin but good. The service was great- she brought refills when needed and checked on us frequently. We'll come back to because I really want to try the Vietnamese coffee and there are definitely other intriguing menu items. Our only complaint is the parking situation has gotten worse in downtown Ellijay so if the weather is at questionable, we may not make the long trip from Pickens County.

This used to be called the Ellijay CoffeeHouse House, but is now Mountain Town Coffee at Hemlock Bazaar (hopefully Yelp will accept my edits), and it has a great vibe. There's a back entrance and courtyard which we came through. The decoration is wacky- I don't know how else to describe it. It's old school and nostalgic but strange. On the other side of the wall there's an entire book store that is part of the business. It had one of the most impressive collections I've seen in a bookstore in awhile. It wasn't huge but it had a great variety of genres, and a lot of intriguing titles I hadn't heard of but sought to remember for later. The man working the register was a charm- he told us how Ellijay has their own tv production (which they were playing on an old school tv), a special Bigfoot podcast and more. Lastly, the coffee was, of course, delightful. I had a latte with a little bit of spice in it that was perfect to warm a person up in the cool early spring air when we were there. Had we known this would be such a cool stop I think we would have bargained even more time to just hang and enjoy the atmosphere. I think it could be a good place to sit and do work or read and there's lots of spaces to sit so it's not too loud.
