This place has a few things going for it that makes me want to return Fried chicken daily and it's so good! The crust was so good and there are other meat and 3 places around that only do chicken once a week. It's nice to know they have items you can get any day The pintos and green beans were ok but the mash potatoes were instant. That was a turn off So the desserts we ordered a apple caramel pie that was ok but took home the peanut butter pie and it was the best peanut butter pie I've ever eaten. My wife and I had noticed Edna's several times during drives through north Georgia but they were always closed. Drove by Saturday, saw they were open, and decided to give it a try. I got chicken (by far the best thing about this meal; it was actually pretty good), pinto beans and collared greens. The sides were served in these tiny cups that probably contained about a half of what one would usually consider a decent portion. The beans were okay (I hit a few that were undercooked to the point of being crunchy. But good grief, the collard greens tasted like someone had squirted bug spray in them. Utterly inedible. My wife tried one bite and instantly regretted it. I put the tiny bowl full of greens on the edge of the table, hoping our server would notice they were untouched and would offer a substitute. Nope. Didn't see him again until the end of the meal, and he had no curiosity about why they were uneaten. My wife got meat loaf, mashed potatoes and green beans. Her observations: green beans out of a can, mashed potatoes meh, meat loaf "edible." She asked the server when he brought our plates if she could have some butter and he pointed to a rack of little containers and said, "There." She didn't have on her glasses and didn't realize those little packets did NOT contain butter but instead some hideous fake butter spread that was old and awful. Turned the okay potatoes inedible. Once again, the server ignored that they were untouched. Service leaves a lot to be desired. The employees seem nice and earnest but don't seem to grasp what service should entail. If they see that a customer hasn't touched some of their meal, they should make some attempt to make it right. At this point I'm sure you, dear reader, have reached the correct conclusion that we will never be back to, nor can we recommend, Edna's. read more

Stopped in as we were passing through town. Never heard of this place but totally worth stopping for! Reminds me of a home town diner where everyone knows everyone else in there! Service was great, prices are great! Fried chicken was one of the best we have had - so totally recommend visiting when you are in the area! Fantastic home cooked meal. read more

Three friends and I decided to put some miles on our motorcycles and decided to stop in here when we got hungry. The times I have driven or ridden by here there was always a crowd so I was anxious to see what brought the crowd in. Zero disappointments. 3 of us had meatloaf with everything from collards to mashed potatoes and gravy to potatoe salad to candied yams. Home runs on all accounts. My friend got the hamburger steak and it was great too. Hadn't planned on dessert but how does one pass up homemade pie? My friend had chocolate and I had coconut cream. Each bite reminded me of the Sundays when my mother made hers for us to enjoy. It's a little out of the way but not hard to get too. If you're in north Georgia or southeast Tennessee in the Ocoee area it's worth the few minute drive to get a meal that'll take you back to simpler days. What a great representation of the local culture! Now, I am always 100% percent honest with my reviews. I have to admit this restaurants puts effort in every single way. The service was superb! Very friendly! its what you call true southern hospitality from beginning to end. The fish sandwich and onions rings were fresh and delish perfectly battered! The fried chicken was crispy and moist I wish it had a bit more seasoning but if you use a sauce with it then you golden. The chicken included 3 sides: I had the pickle beets, just ok. Then the macaroni salad which is not my favorite side dish and will probably never order again. The mac and cheese was not as great either but if u hungry it does the job. Since I love to fish nearby, I will be trying all the sides and other dishes little by little and i will keep posting My thought on them. My absolute favorite so far were the onion rings. read more

In the middle of Chatsworth is a small family run restaurant that gives you more bang for the buck than most. Meat/ and 3 for under $8.00! The food was good, served pretty quick and the servers work hard to take care of everyone. This is where the locals bring their families to eat. There is a certain "kindness" that the patrons show each other. A head nod, a smile, or a few brief words exchanged. Looking for some food because we were starving - passing through the town. Saw the sign ( they are RIGHT ON the road ) and stopped. Older diner type of place. If you are looking for a pretty, modern building, this isn't it. This looks like a hard working staff if trying to keep a business alive without all the bells and whistles. I liked it alot. It's simple. Super friendly staff, very attentive. Didn't know what to expect, food wise. But we were not disappointed. Excellent food. Obviously made to order. Comfort food. The fries were seasoned just right too. Sweet tea was exactly what I needed. The hushpuppies were excellent. I definitely see why a bunch of locals were there that afternoon. We were heading home from Fort Mountain State Park and found this restaurant on Yelp. The food is EXCELLENT- especially the fried chicken. The whipped potatoes and corn nuggets were especially good - but leave room for dessert because there is homemade pie! The staff is extremely friendly and attentive, the restaurant is clean and an easy find right on the highway. Eating at Edna's is something of a trip back in time. A time of melamine tableware, when "homemade" meant mashed potatoes came out of a box, rolls came out of a bag, and chicken salad contained all the main components of tartar sauce. Don't get me wrong. The meatloaf was good. (Though the fried chicken seemed uninspired.) And prices were VERY reasonable. Come with an appetite. These people will feed you! The staff are friendly and very helpful. It's easy to see that Edna's is a major gathering spot in Chatsworth, and that this place stands out among all the other run-of-the-mill fast food places in that small town. I was sadly disappointed. For a restaurant who serves southern food, there seamed you be very little butter or salt used. I'm 99% sure that most of the food is mass produced. I was hopeful that the peanut butter pie would save the day, but I had a hard time finding it under all the meringue. Would I eat here again? If I had to. Pretty good country cooking here. Crispy fried chicken, heavy dense meatloaf and beef and pork slathered with gravy. Good gravy it's good. Peas, greens, beans mashed potatoes and okra are guaranteed to fill a body up. Buttermilk pie is what's fir dessert. The old place is beginning to show it's age now. But they keep it clean if you could scrub back down to new it'd be so by now.? Service is agreeable. They are happy to see you but at the same time you get the feeling they about to start taking any guff from anybody now.
