Stopped for breakfast when we saw all the cars outside, and we were not disappointed. Good plain straightforward Southern breakfast. Scrambled eggs were moist and juicy, for our choice of meat we had pork tenderloin from the griddle, which was nicely seasoned with salt and pepper. Also got The biscuits, which are some of the best we've had anywhere in the South. Gravy for the biscuits was slightly peppery and did not smell like artificial dairy product, as so many biscuit gravy's do. Fast service, also friendly. Next time we are coming through town we will definitely try them for lunch or dinner. read more

Some people get more food than others. The person in front of me asked for more turkey and got it. She was not told that she would have to pay more. When I asked for more turkey, I was told I would have to pay more. I didn't get much to start with. . I saw a man with three times as much as I had and didn't pay more. Don't bother going here. They have also changed how they charge. You never know how much you are going to pay because a girl just types out a bunch of numbers and tells you to pay what appears on the screen. Not a good place anymore. Also the woman who helped me was sweating like a hog and wiping sweat the whole time. She should have not been on the serving line. read more

My parents love this place. My husband and I have been several times. Price is usually good. Food is generally ok, but sometimes lukewarm. Tonight annoyed me though. I got the turkey and dressing. Turkey was lukewarm. Dressing was cold. They asked if I wanted gravy. Looking at it, I said ok, but on the side. Good call. It had no flavor at all. But my main concern was getting cranberry sauce, so I asked for it. They said it was down there and pointed to the end of the counter. Now, I know they keep out raw onions and lemons for people to get freely after they pay, so I thought that was what they meant. You get 3 sides with your entree, so I picked cabbage and fried okra right away. I didn't really want anything else, but as it came with the meal, I picked the apples. I then saw that the cranberry sauce was at the end of the line, behind the glass, and before the register. That meant I had to ask for it, so I did. The girl gave me a scoop and I kept my plate there waiting for more. She dipped out maybe a third of a scoop and started to give it to me. Knowing that wasn't enough, I asked for more. She looked annoyed and said if she gave me a full scoop, she'd have to charge me for an extra side. My husband agreed but I was pissed. 1. Cranberry sauce is a condiment, not a side item. 2. If you are crazy enough to treat it as a side item, you need to let people know that ahead of time. 3. I had already made it known I wanted cranberry sauce, so I especially should have been informed of their insane policy. 4. My husband, who got the fish, was given a bottle of tartar sauce to squeeze out all he wanted before returning it to the counter. My point, some people like a little ketchup, while others like lots. Every restaurant out there that serves fries knows this and accepts it as a cost of doing business. Are there more important problems in the world? Yes. But this is a restaurant review. And I found their attitude and actions tonight to be very tacky and inappropriate. I am not saying don't go there, but do be aware that if the principle of the matter bothers you like it does me, you too could encounter an issue. Have eaten there before, but never had breakfast my husband and I were on anniversary morning and decided to try breakfast there.
