Pretty good country cooking here. Crispy fried chicken, heavy dense meatloaf and beef and pork slathered with gravy. Good gravy it's good. Peas, greens, beans mashed potatoes and okra are guaranteed to fill a body up. Buttermilk pie is what's fir dessert. The old place is beginning to show it's age now. But they keep it clean if you could scrub back down to new it'd be so by now.? Service is agreeable. They are happy to see you but at the same time you get the feeling they about to start taking any guff from anybody now. Little gem along the way on Highway 411. If you are looking for a local place that offers veggies then this is the place. They offer different specials everyday as their meat and three special. Classic southern dishes! The menu also has some staples they offer every day. Some of the veggies were definitely home cooked, while others were dressed up canned veggies. Cornbread muffins were homemade while the rolls were warmed up out of a package. Sweet tea was perfect to wash down all the buttery greasy southern goodness! The service was great and the atmosphere was nice. Everything looked clean, including the restroom which had hot water and that is always a plus. You can tell this place gets a lot of "regulars" as lots of people greeted each other by name. There was plenty of parking and it is easy to find. We stumbled upon this place, taking the "long way home" from Atlanta and I would stop here again. read more

Heard a lot about this Restaurant,but, we have tried this place twice...we are Both Seniors, have health problems...BOTH times the Servers were friendly enough,,but, waiting on our Food, only to find it Cold,and, over cooked...I ordered the Fish Platter,,My Husband ordered his Favorite Chicken Livers,,,The wait was unbearable, as, I have problems with my insides, had to wait for my food, SO LONG..I was ready to Pass out,,was getting nauseated,and, a headache...yesterday was NO exception..My Hush Puppies were WAY Over Cooked, I could NOT even get my knife through them to try and eat,,my Fish was fried beyond even attempting to eat,although, I did eat some of it,,IT HAD NO flavor what so ever...I highly doubt we will be back...If we HAVE to wait for 25-30 minutes for our meal...might as well have stayed home and Celebrated our Anniversary.. read more

Finally made it to edna's. After selling our business "Yellow Jacket restaurant" in calhoun, allows me to visit Edna's. Heard so much about the local establishment. I can say, you will not leave hungry. Gotta support local family owned restaurants. These establishments are fading out. Armosphere, food, and service was great. My server peggy did great. read more

Not open late enough and went one day during the winter and there was a sign and they closed an hour early and changed their hours randomly for a month.. strange. The Mac n cheese could be better and fried chicken could have more taste and juiciness but it was a decent meal. Similar to The Village but I much rather the Village. Sorry Edna :(( read more

Absolutely loved it. I had never eaten there before but my friend suggested it and so we stopped. The aroma hit us coming in and had my mouth watering. I enjoyed the delicious fried chicken livers. The service was fast and friendly. Definitely worth a visit back! read more

We have passed this place for about 20 years and hadn't stopped in. Timing was right. Finally made it to lunch. Definite family restaurant vibe. That's not a complaint. Nothing on the menu is going to be unfamiliar and no staff member will be describing any specials involving fusion or reductions (unless we're talking Betty Lou's spandex pants) but I digress. The food was very good and I didn't get that "out of the can" gripe at all. I feel that Southern food has become sneered at by a combo of two factors, Paula Deen's over the top artery clogging offerings or Cracker Barrel's bland over priced fare. Neither is a good comparison to simple food done right. Pricing is fair and the staff friendly and attentive. By the way, the peanut butter pie is very good. Recommended. read more

This is one of my all time favorite restaurants. Their food is sooooo good (all of it), and everyone there is so nice. My only complaint is I wish they would make a second location in Jasper!!! read more

We were in town looking at RV's and the owner of the RV place had an amazing club sandwich she was eating. We asked where she got it and she said Edna's. While waiting for the paperwork we decided to run down and get a quick bite. We split the club and onion rings and then got a slice of Peanut Butter pie to share. The atmosphere inside Edna's is truly that hometown local small restaurant feel. Edna's picture is hung up front by the cash register and it fit's so perfectly as you can put the vibe along with her sweet photo. It felt like you were sitting in her kitchen. The staff was very helpful and nice. Our meals came out in plenty of time. The sandwich was so good. They use smoked bacon and ham. I'm craving one now just thinking about how yummy it was. The peanut butter pie was Amazing.....mmm mmm It had a very light and airy meringue topping, and usually I don't like meringue, but this stuff was light as air. The pie crust was superb and the filling was not stick to the roof of your mouth....it was so creamy and smooth......Ok I want a piece of pie now. The lady at the RV dealer told me that people drive from all over, Atlanta, Dahlonega to come eat the pie. We love to frequent these mom and pop type places over the large chains any day. When we finalize our RV purchase, we'll for sure stop back and get a meal here. read more

Great home cooking, I was concerned after reading some of the reviews but I was not disappointed. The waitress was friendly and the food came out hot and delicious. I suppose if you are not a fan of southern home cooking you would rate this place low but it was a 5 star experience for a home cooked meal. read more

They also offer other items such as sandwiches, platters, and salads The price is very affordable also, a 1 meat and 3 vegetable plate is $5.75 and you get plenty to eat.
