A waitress was quick to greet me and took both my drink and food order. Both arrived in a timely manner. I had the Downtown BLT (and they accommodated my request to substitute the Kaiser bun with the croissant) with a side of fries. The sandwich ingredients were quality, but (and this is just my personal taste), they didn't synergize the way I expected. The fried green tomatoes had an excellent coating and perfectly cooked and the bacon was nice and crispy, I liked the sauce on they used, and the croissant was nice and soft. The fries were a bit under cooked and limp and dense instead of light and crispy. I also had the Chilly Willy Dog and the footlong was tasty except for the bun which was dry.

Food was fantastic. I had one of their specials and wife had a sandwich. We had a large group so a 20% gratuity was automatically added which is more than most restaurants add for a large group. A bigger surprise was a "non-cash" adjustment of approximately 5%. Dollar wise it wasn't much but was still a surprise. read more

Didn't see him again until the end of the meal, and he had no curiosity about why they were uneaten. My wife got meat loaf, mashed potatoes and green beans. Her observations: green beans out of a can, mashed potatoes meh, meat loaf "edible." She asked the server when he brought our plates if she could have some butter and he pointed to a rack of little containers and said, "There." She didn't have on her glasses and didn't realize those little packets did NOT contain butter but instead some hideous fake butter spread that was old and awful. Turned the okay potatoes inedible. Once again, the server ignored that they were untouched. Service leaves a lot to be desired. The employees seem nice and earnest but don't seem to grasp what service should entail. If they see that a customer hasn't touched some of their meal, they should make some attempt to make it right. At this point I'm sure you, dear reader, have reached the correct conclusion that we will never be back to, nor can we recommend, Edna's.

I was seated instantly (apparently seat yourself) and was greeted immediately by Kelci,, a great server with a very pleasant and beautiful smile and a very professional and efficient demeanor. I ordered the grilled catfish with mashed potatoes and green beans. The catfish was surprisingly good with a nice flavor (even though the filet was almost tiny, luckily I wasn't too hungry, it still tasted good and the tartar sauce is came with was perfect). The sides I had were mashed potato's (again, nice flavor but no gravy) and the green beans were pretty fresh even though probably from a can, and those were pretty bland. Funny thing is there were no bread options for the meal but it was lunchtime so maybe that's why? They also have a large selection of desserts which Kelci helped me pick through. I got a slice of German chocolate cake which was huge and delicious, I couldn't finish it. Also the tea is good old southern tea, I had the half and half because it's pretty sweet but that's the way it's supposed to be! Overall the place was very clean and smelled nice. There's ample parking outside and the location is convenient. I will probably come back when in the area but won't make a drive from where I live in Cartersville just to eat here. So overall I'm giving 5 stars for the excellent service (thank you Kelci), 4 stars for the food, 3 for the atmosphere (kick up the music to add in some modern rock or something!) and 5 stars for cleanliness, parking and location. Definitely recommend for locals and folks passing through.
