I ordered a cake from the owner and gave her A week and half to make. I drove 40 miles to pick up the cake to have her daighter( rude as hell) tell me it wasn't going to be made. They said they tried to call me to tell me they could not do the cake but I have NO MISSED CALLE AND NO VOICE MAILS FROM THEM. The daughter just said "we tried " but like I said. It's out in the country, away from all the hustle and bustle. You'd think you'd been invited to Aunt Bethany's for Sunday dinner. The entres and vegetables are amazing, and the desserts are all homemade! Although the cakes are amazing too, I'm a die-hard warm banana pudding guy (it's to die for). I promise you won't leave hungry. Some may consider the pricing a little high, but for homemade food (not much here comes out of a can that I can tell), the food, atmosphere, wait staff, and the country drive are worth a periodic trip. Kelsey was our server and she was awesome. The restaurant was easy to find with old school signage. The building has its name on the side which is awesome. Parking is a gravel parking lot but plentiful. Seating was easy to find and there was a large room in the back with extra seating. Each day they have various specials, which is awesome. Saturday's featured chicken and dumplings and pulled pork. We ordered the chicken and dumplings with Mac and cheese, cornbread, grilled cheese and chicken soup. The food was served at a great temperature, not too hot, not too cold. I ate the grilled cheese and chicken soup and it was amazing. The Mac and cheese is very gooey and wasn't my favorite style but was good, nonetheless. The service was quick (we were in a hurry and mentioned this and our drinks were refilled, we received to go cups, and paid all within 15 minutes. I wouldn't recommend rushing the experience, but if you are in a hurry and they are not too busy, know they can accommodate. The desserts looked amazing!! We weren't able to try any but I included pictures of the main menu, dessert menu, and daily specials! It's a little out of the way, but definitely recommend if you are in the area. Prices are reasonable for the food amount, it was $18 for sweet tea, chicken and dumplings and two sides, and a grilled cheese and soup. Not bad. Restaurant was clean and Heath ratings were solid 95 and above for the past 8 years! 100 for most! So it's a win win all around! Thanks for a great experience! read more

So this place has lots of farm to table options and they have specials of the day you can check them out on their Facebook page sometimes. We tried lots of items when we went but remember the items are seasonal based on availability. The chicken and dumpling pretty good didn't like the amount of dark meat but overall very good. The fried squash and veggies was very good along with the mash potatoes. The pintos were just ok and the Mac n cheese was terrible tasted like box. The hamburger steak was amazing it was cooked with onions and mushrooms which I hate mushroom texture but the flavor was very good. They also had a seasonal white corn on the cob which was very fresh right from the farm The Star was the hot banana pudding! Can't skip on this or italian cream cake both amazing choices read more

We ran a race in Crandall, GA this morning and our way back home to Florida ran across this restaurant on Yelp. We were hungry and it wasn't too far off our path so we trusted the reviews and stopped. I AM SO GLAD WE DID! This food was delicious! All three of ordered the 1/2 burger. The menu says the beef is ground there at the restaurant and "you will taste the difference". We definitely did! One of the best burgers I've ever had. We were so full, but had to force ourselves to make some room the Still Warm Banana Pudding! OMG...HEAVEN IN A DISH! The food was great! But the hospitality was above and beyond. Britt was our waitress and I want to tell Bowmans...do not lose her! She was so sweet, so attentive, and I just wanted to keep asking her questions so she would keep talking to me! Friends of mine had raved about this restaurant because of its delicious "farm to table" style food. Unfortunately, this wasn't exactly what I experienced. I ordered the smoked pulled pork, one of the specials that night, along with green beans and deviled eggs as my sides. The pork was tender and tasted good but I've had better barbecue in New England. The most disappointing thing of all were the green beans. I was expecting freshly picked green beans and was instead given canned snow peas. Canned! Cost $17.50 per person. Spent $175 to feed my family. Food not as good as home cooked but better than other meat and 3 in Gordon County. Ordered smoke sausage and kraut yesterday. Only received 1 piece of sausage about the size of a nickel. When I asked if I could get a couple more I was informed I needed to order another side of it. When I explained I only received 1 piece. The waitress (who was a sweetheart) asked the manager again but came back and said listen they said no way they would scoop out any pieces without ordering another serving. She offered to take it off my bill because she was afraid to be yelled at if she walked back in there. Anyone unwilling to include $0.10 for 2 small pieces of smoke sausage vs 1 but still charge you $17.50 per person in Resaca GA does not deserve my business again. We have eaten there for many years on a special occasion because the cost is way too much. But now understanding the character of those in charge we will never be back.
