Boxcar Grill - Smash burger with mushrooms and cheese - so freaking greasy

Fun spot, great food, very messy (in a good way)…read more Stopped by Boxcar Grill in Talking Rock, GA shortly after they opened, so parking was easy and there were no crowds at the time. It's a neat little place built inside a train boxcar -- narrow but clean, organized, and well laid out. There's plenty of outdoor seating available, not just at Boxcar Grill itself but also next door where you can sit and enjoy your food. Inside seating is comfortable, and everything was nice and clean. I ordered the Train Wreck Smash Burger, and fair warning: it is VERY messy. Chili, fried egg, bacon -- super flavorful and tasty, but you'll want extra napkins. Totally worth it if you don't mind getting a little dirty. I also had the maple bourbon wings, which were sticky, sweet, and delicious. Messy as expected, but cooked well and full of flavor. The curled potato wedge fries were excellent -- crispy, seasoned well, and a great side. Had it all with a Sprite Zero, food came out fresh and hot, and the staff was friendly and welcoming. Overall, this is a great stop whether you're solo, with friends, or with family. Fun concept, good food, and a relaxed small-town vibe. I'd definitely come back.

It's based in an old train car. Everyone inside was super nice. They were happy to bring our food out to our table by the music. We got a couple burgers, and some wings. Everything was very tasty. Fries were unique, and my wife liked them. Overall, a cool little spot and talking rock George by the old train tracks definitely Wjente worth stopping by.

We all pre registered on line plus we arrived early to take advantage no lines or crowds. This is a shotgun and clay disk range, you can bring your own shot gun to use, they don't mind. We had a great time maneuvering through the site on our golf cart. Taking full advantage of all the great views and training. Our security trainer was very information on how to stand, hold the rifle and site the disk. We were a party of six with 10 rounds per section. Each section the disk came from different angles to be shot at. After a few hours we moved our party towards the restaurant. Where we sat on the outdoor patio taking in the view and watching others shoot. Our waitress was kind and very informative. She helped us make some desirable selections. We had the garland sunrise and a blueberry lemonade cocktails. The appetizers we had loaded tots( delicious), rock shrimp, and fried green tomatoes. All very filling! Moving on to entrees threes beer battered fish and chips, onion soup, shrimp and grits. Giant burgers and fries, chicken sandwich and onion rings, and pulled bbq platter. We were not disappointed with any of it. ( thank you chef). We ended our visit with photos on the lawn near the archway with the blue ridge in the background. Apologies to our waitress I didn't catch your name, we sure hope we were not too much

Our server, Dixie, was so kind and couldn't have made me feel more special. They treat you like family here in this lovely little cafe. I had my usual 3 egg omelette, with ham, spinach, onions, and jalapeños. It is always Amazing, but be forewarned that when you request jalapeños, you get a ton of them! So good and spicy, it's really well-prepared and delicious! My husband had the chicken salad on a toasted croissant and he loved it as well. He's very picky about chicken and he loves the salad here at Carriage House. This is a really special spot in Jasper. They serve breakfast as well as lunch so be sure to give them a try. Finding the small door into the place can be tricky, so be sure to have the address and be patient looking for it. It's well worth your trouble!

The restaurant is cozy with multiple tables and a couple of bar stools (although I've never seen anyone sit at them). The servers are pleasant and refill coffee regularly. The French toast comes with a side. One that's not listed in the "sides" is 2 eggs cooked to order. I ordered them overmedium and they were PERFECTLY cooked. That's an art, my friends! $12 for 3 pancakes and potatoes is ridiculous though- especially with fake maple syrup. The muffins are huge for $4 and they are freshly baked. You can't go wrong with those! We'll definitely be back.

Our table was lovely and private, perfect for heartfelt conversation, and our server, Bailey, was cheerful as always and so accommodating. We started with mussels and the Caesar salad. Both were good, but I can't stop thinking about the buttery deliciousness of the mussels and broth. Honestly, the best I've ever had. My husband and I had the fish and chips: steel-head trout, lightly battered and fried with tartar sauce and malt vinegar. So good! Our daughter had the ribeye and it was out of this world. Perfectly cooked to medium rare, nice sear on the outside and a gorgeous red center. Easily the best steak my daughter and husband (couldn't resist a taste) had ever had. The garlic compound butter is a must-have. Perfect compliment to the steak. We foolishly ended with an incredibly decadent dessert and it, too, was amazing! A chocolate brownie with ice cream and rum sauce . . . We fought over it even though we were so full after the great dinner. We love Home. A wonderful relaxing dinner, a wonderful special occasion place, or a great place to try their take-out menu, we are so lucky to have Home so near our community. Service is always impeccable and the food meets most exacting standards.
