Food here is excellent, honestly their pulled pork and sausage with the Carolina gold bbq sauce is some of the best bbq profiles that I've had in forever. So good came back the next week just to have the same thing. I really like the Dijon potato salad, was a perfect ratio tang, creaminess, and potatoes were cooked perfect. Also the ranch they serve is top notch, definitely get some when you here. Service was good, girl who helped us was super nice and was very good about bringing us the stuff we needed. And she was really sweet with our toddler. Ambiance is good, typical of other places around here and has a nice bar area and TV's hung around so you can catch games. Here we are again - the BBQ connoisseur. I was needing a decent lunch, because today has been a hard day, without a breakfast, and it was now 2:00 in the afternoon. From the outside I thought with a name like Old Country Place it would be a meat and three but was surprised to find it a BBQ restaurant. It's cute. Concrete floors, metal chairs and wooden tables. Country music playing over the speakers but not too loud. Just about right. I ordered the pork plate chopped, with baked beans and Dijon potato salad. Let's start with the baked beans. They were sweet - just excellent. Then the potato salad. They were enjoyed to the last spoon full. The chopped pork was cooked to perfection. It was moist - it smelled great, and I was not disappointed. They offer 4 sauce choices. Two were not tried - Palmetto Gold and Carolina vinegar. I never caught a taste for mustard based sauces. I think it's a Carolina thing, and well honestly they just don't know bar be que like those of us who say, "Roll Tide." I tried the Spicy red sauce first - My gosh it was hot. I think I liked it, but I probably damaged my lips and my nose started running. But then I tried the sweet sauce. Yes, this was it! Excellence in a squirt bottle! The service was fast and excellent. I give this place a really nice score - an 8/10. It is a great local bbq eatery. We don't live near here, so it'll just be me eating here from time to time when I'm passing by, but if we did live close, Old Country Place would be our Friday night go to - especially on our way to a High School football game. read more

We came into this place after visiting a nearby as a group. 3 families with kids. BBQ is their speciality. The interiors are good and they had a huge table to fit all of us. They also had good kids food and for adults as well. Our server was nice and the food came in orderly fashion without much delay. When it comes to taste I tried the 2 meats and 2 sides platter. Had the chicken and brisket and it was good. It was the first time eating brisket. I felt I would love it after seeing it in TV. Not a great fan of brisket for the taste buds filled with chicken tikka masala and regular steak. But I really appreciate the way the brisket was prepared. This was our first time at Old Country place. The wait staff was very inviting. I ordered the $10 lunch special bbq brisket sandwich with a side of collard greens. My hubby ordered a bbq pork sandwich with fries. When the food came out it looked so yummy. The brisket was melt in your mouth. I chose to mix the Carolina mustard sauce and the sweet bbq together. It was the perfect combination of tangy and sweet. The bun was super fresh and soft too. My collards were very good, just like mama used to make. My hubby was in love with the pulled pork sandwich. First time trying the Old Country Place- our waitress was nice and took our order promptly. We appreciated that, coming on a Sunday after church the location was not super busy. The decor was sort of Southern picnic with wooden booths and exterior paneling going half way on the walls; and turquoise chairs at wooden tables. Very dim lighting when going over the menu you may need your phones flashlight. Your menu choices were delightful as there are some pretty great options to choose from. The food was pretty good , the pulled pork has vinegar in it and a great flavor over all. The BYOB was pretty thin and cooked to my specifications the bun was also thin, over all an average burger. The angus hotdogs with slaw were good as well . We will try your BBQ spot again in hopes of trying some of the other items. I was sad all that creaminess was over. The baked beans, green beans, and slaw were good. I'd get them again, but they were not the best I've had. They were perfectly satisfying though so no complaints! The BBQ burger was drool-worthy! I don't even particularly like pulled pork and I thought this burger was amazing. A beef patty, fat stack of pulled pork, and some slaw (y'all know I love my salty + sweet). There were other toppings on there, too, and the bun was expertly selected. This really was a great burger, I was pleasantly surprised! The desserts were okay. Perfectly tasty and a wonderful close to a meal, just not fantastic versions of what they are. The pecan pie was really thin. I would have loved more of that gooey center with a decent amount of volume. The peach cobbler was moist and had great spices, but we were missing peaches! There were two pieces in the entire slice we got. I would have loved so much more peach cobbler. This ate more like wet spiced cake with a peach garnish. There are so many other tasty things on the menu. We will absolutely be back sometime soon for some repeats and some new things. Let's just get straight to it. The smoked peach salad was absolutely DELECTABLE! Oh my goodness, who knew my tastebuds needed smoked peaches. Everything about that salad was perfect. 10/10!!! For my side I had the bbq baked beans and some coleslaw..... Girl...... they did it right . I would've never imagined myself eating coleslaw, but it was so good. It had a little kick to it and it wasn't watery. It was perfect. The baked beans were sooooo flavorful. It had onions and bell peppers and it was so well seasoned. Definitely the best bbq baked beans I've had from a restaurant. Now onto that raggedy burger.... It was the most plain burger I've ever had in my life. No salt, pepper, NOTHING. I'm sure they just took the meat straight from the packaging to the stove because there was no flavor. The beans and coleslaw had to work overtime. Other than that, I had a pleasant experience. When I tell you...Their Turkey is THE BEST!! And I'm from Kansas City! It was tender, flavorful, juicy, & delicious! I've ordered it every time (4 in total) that we go. Very cool place inside, industrial interiors with cow decor and mentions of bourbons (which also attracted us). Started with a drink of Jefferson's Ocean, which is rather difficult to find in a restaurant in our area, an appetizer of Fried green tomato's topped with basil, goat cheese, and a balsamic reduction; it was delicious. We both had an entree of pulled pork plate with sides, from baked beans, slaw to collard greens. All exceptionally good, including the side of homemade pickles slices and onions. During our meal the owner, who was very nice checked on us and shared a bit about this restaurant and his love for bourbon and whiskey. It was overall a great experience. This was our first time to visit Old Country Place and loved that the owner, Coby, came over to our table, introduced himself and asked how we liked our meals. The service was outstanding! Taylor was our waitress and she was very friendly and attentive. The Peachy Keen Salad was incredible. I opted to add the smoked chicken and it was delicious. My husband had the Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich with Pimento Cheese and although it was delicious, it was much too hot for him. Next time he will order it without the "Nashville Hot". I can tell you that the brisket is the best I have ever enjoyed! I enjoy everything they serve. I get salads and they are fresh and the dressings are very complex and delicious with whatever combo you do. The sides are just out of this world! I crave the collard greens (who does that)! Two stars because the service is good but the food was a bust. I got the southern caprese - fried green tomatoes with basil, goat cheese, and balsamic. The tomatoes themselves were over-cooked and rubbery. The breading would be ok except they were in the fryer too long. I also got a cup of the Brunswick stew based on good reviews here but it was downright inedible. It was cold and INSANELY hot. I can take a little spice but it's like they dumped an entire bottle of hot sauce in it. And the taste even aside from the spice was just way off. My husband got the smoked chicken salad sandwich, which he thought was pretty good but he said the baked beans were terrible. After looking at the website's menu, I was thrilled to order dinner through Grub Hub for a nice dinner at home. The wait was to be fifty minutes, but being a barbecue junkie, I was willing to wait. The food arrived, in the time frame indicated. The bag felt light, but I figured maybe my excitement was kicking in and I was not correct. Nope, I was spot on. The bag was light, because half the order was missing. No redneck lasagna. Only one order of sweet potato tater tots. No 1/4 pound of chicken. Even the mustard sauce that was recommended by the staff on my wife's phone call was missing. The food was cold. Not lukewarm, cold. Granted, the fact it's a delivery meal really affects temperature, but the bag wasn't sealed. I suppose I should thank the nice fellow that invented the microwave oven at this point. The restaurant maybe be fantastic for a on site meal, where the meal and contents can be scrutinized on site. Sadly, it will be the last time I order from this venue. Pros: the food does taste good. The meat portions that arrived were filling. The sauce is pretty good. Delivery is an option Cons: half of my order was missing, including the sauce an on-site restaurant employee stated she was adding to our order per a phone call. The food was cold; delivery packaging does nothing to promote heat retention. The Cole slaw potions were very small (about three forkfuls). I love this place, one of the top BBQ places near my home. Consistent smoky meats, only caveat is their sauces. Not very good. I would say it's fair, it's hard because when you got all this work delivered to the smoking craft only to be brought down by the taste profiles of the sauces they offer. Even the 'bama sauce isn't helping any. I think that they promote local beers well, they even added local desserts. It's soooooo haaaard to find good brisket outside of Texas, but I had a few people recommend this place to me. It did not disappoint. The first time I had it they catered a dinner for my school and I loved the pulled chicken. So delicious and flavorful and NOT dry. I wasn't crazy about the sides but that's not the main attraction anyways. I've visited at least 3x since then and it's always been pretty yummy. Price is reasonable... considering I usually get brisket. If I'm with someone I usually try and pull the "wanna share/split" card bc I have such a hard time deciding between the brisket and chicken sandwich. By the way, if you get the chicken sandwich, ask for Bama sauce. You can thank me later. It's basically like a yum yum sauce. Smoked wings are delicious with crispy skin and a great flavor as well.
