No one in town charges more for a beer than this place. For example, I enjoy local IPAs and Creature Comforts (Athens) is everywhere. I can go to several other stops in town and pay less for a 16 oz can or pour of this beer. Compared to another decent stop down the street, three roses is almost 30% more. My wife says one of the wines she likes is a little less than other stops, so that's good. But other drink prices tend to be on the high side as well, but most in town have higher liquor prices. That adds up if you like to frequent a place. Hence, we stopped frequenting. Overall, I like the decor and as noted, the food is decent. The upstairs is better than the downstairs but I'm glad they have the downstairs for some occasion when they could get busy. As for the Tavern / entertainment element, I've never seen any live music but they have several TVs. Not sure this would be my top choice to watch a game but it would work in a pinch if the other places were too busy or noisy.

The mood was ruined by whiny acoustic music, probably picked by the staff and not for the customers. I can normally tune it out, but the uncharacteristic F*bombs coming from the speakers were a mood killer. And while waiting for my meal I heard the following exchange from the kitchen: "Your late!" "Are you going to fire me? Please send me home!" The hostile attitudes in the kitchen was unfortunately reflected in the meal. I ordered the fish and chips, and the fries were nicely cooked. The crust on the fish also looked good. But the fish inside was watery and unpleasant. It was also topped with a mass of cilantro sprigs, which did not pair with the flavors. I managed to scrape them all off. The fish was served with vinegar, ketchup, and (missing) tartar sauce. The friendly and attentive waitress was quick to correct the missing sauce, although it did take awhile. My meal also came with a side of slaw that would have been outstanding if the kitchen hadn't made a misstep of loading it with too much salt. The other seasonings in the slaw were excellent and unique and the addition of red onions was great, but sadly ruined by the saltiness. At the end of my meal I visited their modern and stylish restrooms. I'd arrived just after 5PM and on this weekday there were only a few patrons. So the stylish furnishing of the restroom were marred by the mess I encountered in there. Based on the number of employees compared to patrons, there wasn't an excuse for not cleaning that bathroom. I've seen truckstop restrooms that weren't that nasty.

Ambiance is good, small place with bar and lots of solid painting on wall. Trendy but nothing fancy, also a couple booths and tables inside and out. Will for sure be back, want to try other things on the menu that caught my eye.

The Chicken Tenders were exactly what I wanted, but I'm pretty sure I've had the exact same ones from other sports bars. I think the Tyson chicken breast strips are good (and I'd continue to get them), but they aren't really something special. I'd prefer wings and things. The sauce I got them tossed in was really really good. I got the Buffalo-aki wing sauce flavor and additionally requested the Lemon-Pepper seasoning... yum! The sweet potato fries were great. I really liked the way they were cut, and they weren't too greasy at all (like some fries). They were, however, not really seasoned... but it didn't matter when I paired it with the sauce. Which, by the way, the Honey Mustard sauce was especially good. I don't usually see Fried Green Beans on a menu, so I was expecting something really good and to add a lighter veggie to my meal, but they weren't great. While they were really tender, the breading was very thick and greasy. They tasted good in the first few bites, but it was hard to get through after a while. Would not recommend. The service at this location is particularly excellent. I had multiple people check in on me to see if I had been helped already. I was wearing a shirt with a small emblem on it, and multiple people pointed it out and thanked me for my military service. And they were all very personable and kept up a fun smile. Sidelines would be a great place to choose for wing night, and they've got lots of fun side options. It's pretty average bar food at a pretty average price.

The buffalo chicken had nice chunks of chicken and would have been my favorite, but the vinegar was too strong, and the sourness dominated the flavor the more I ate of it, so it didn't get finished. The queso dip flavor was adequate, but was a bit watery and had begun to separate. For my meal I had wings and were a decent size and flavor. The Ranch and Bleu Cheese dips were a good flavor. Service was a bit of an issue, as the waitress kept forgetting my refill. Which is a problem when eating spicy food. And the visit dragged on too long due to her absence. It took over 20 minutes to get my bill processed.

The garlic green beans were giving Chinese food but better. Really balanced seasoning, good crispness, flavor. Green, if you can imagine! And the Brussels sprouts... With bacon and sauce... Those leftovers will hate to see me coming. "Leftovers?" I sense you ask incredulously. Yes. Because while perusing the menu online, I saw a nice, big picture of their Butter Toffee Cake. And I was instantly imbued with the knowledge that this cake would heal all my past traumas, pay off my student loans, and give me winning lottery numbers. Only time will tell on all counts. But if you order one thing at that restaurant, I demand it be that cake. The person handling those cakes went to the Hogwarts' Academy of Culinary Wizardry. I can hardly describe it and I have no idea what flavor ice cream is on top except it's the best one. If you like food, but especially butterscotch, or not - you need this cake. I blacked out after that and woke up here on Yelp, so... Please go try that cake.

I ordered the Chicken Fried Chicken. But unlike the typical serving of a flat piece of chicken these were two chicken breasts on top of chunky mashed potatoes made with peel on, and topped with a jalapeno bacon gravy. The textures and flavors were perfect and despite the visibility of jalapenos in the gravy, the heat was barely detectable. The side of green beans had a wonderful garlic seasoning and were perfectly cooked and had that nice crunch still in them. Multiple staff came by to chat and ensure everything was perfect and ensure my drink was always refilled, and even management came by to check my table. Their friendliness was warm and genuine and I was very impressed. I look forward to trying some of their other dishes.

Many problems here, and I'm sure "Gary" will respond blaming everyone but him and his staff. My husband, his friends, and all our kids went to Bedoes since the wives were having a "Girls night out" that night. After they ordered their food, their waitress, Lauren (who was actually really awesome) said the kitchen was backed up. My husband, Dan, asked if they could give the kids some food while they were waiting, since they were starving and had been waiting almost an hour. Don't get me wrong, they were asking to help with the hour wait time they had waited for their food. Like crackers, chips and salsa, anything at that point and yes - I know that would kill your profits. Chips and crackers are so expensive! The waitress came back and said, "Sorry, my manager said we can't do that." Well, my husband asked to speak to the manager since the kids were out of control at that point. After all, it had been an hour since they had gotten there. When my husband asked for the manager, she explained what was going on and she simply stated, "Well sorry, we're not going to give free appetizers just because you have to wait for your food." I'm sorry, because do you even have kids??!! LOL!! Well, when the manager came out and my husband told her what he was requesting, she rolled her eyes. Yes, Gary, Gina rolled her eyes . (I'm actually laughing right now because my 13 year old said, "Mom, that rude lady, Gina, rolled her eyes.") My husband's good friend spoke up at that point and tried to help her on her customer service skills, and said basically "look, I'm in Customer Service and here's how...." At this point, Mr. Perfect Gary's GM decided to put her hand up towards my husband's friend's face as if to say "Shut up!". Literally put her hand up, crazy! What if you would have done that to me as a woman? You wouldn't have cared? I think not! I know it's a sports bar, people drink, have a good time, but this is what you expect around kids (ages 7-13), and people that you feel are not "your type?" UNBELIEVABLE! We have been a member of the Hickory Flat Community for some time now and for you to brush this off is despicable! Gary, I call you out on your BS. For you to say that my husband was causing a scene at your restaurant is absolutely absurd. For a great sports bar and tailgating scene, this might be the place to go, however, for a family atmosphere, and a safe place for you and your kids to enjoy a nice night out.....: please think again! Gary, if you want to respond and attack my husband, please feel free to message me. I'll be glad to talk to you and explain how you and your staff's customer service skills are lacking, and are a bad example for elementary school children. If not, well, we all get the point then. I have no idea what these other reviews are talking about. I frequent Bedoe's several times a month, both for Monday's "Kids Eat Free" Nights and often with just the husband for a nice dinner at the bar. The service is always exceptional and the bartenders are friendly. No drink specials? Clearly, whoever wrote that review was confused. They have drink specials every night of the week. The salmon is PERFECT, the veggies are always fresh, not canned. String beans are delicious w/ diced tomatoes and almonds slices...broccoli is perfectly cooked. The Philly is delicious, the Reuben is great, the wings are the best around. If you want a diet-blowing treat, get the tavern chips...homemade potato chips covered in a creamy blue cheese sauce. YUMMMM. Give this place a try if you are in the neighborhood. The owners are always walking around checking things out and getting to know their customers. The cakes are brought in from Alpine Bakery in Roswell and are SO good. Melissa, Adro and Bre at the bar are top notch bartenders and very friendly and try their best to get to know their regulars. I have ZERO complaints about this restaurant. :) Now, GO! lol read more

Last week, myself and a couple co-workers stopped into Bedoe's for a late lunch after completing an outdoor project. We were not working in the best weather conditions and the bartender took note of that. She cheerfully greeted us, offered us seats at the bar, allowed us to get situated before asking what she could get us to drink. She returned with our drinks, presented us with menus and highly recommended the soup of the day. What a great call on a cold, rainy day. The soup was excellent, flavorful and obviously made fresh that day. The bacon cheeseburger was grilled to my request, one of the best I have had in a long time. "This is a tasty burger." My kind of place to relax, enjoy very good food & drinks and friendly staff and patrons. Great job Bedoe's, I will be returning again soon, alone and with friends. read more

My family and I frequently eat at Bedoes. We have always loved their food. So much so, we had them cater our daughters wedding. The food and service provided and price were outstanding. Many of the guests also stated how much they loved the food and how good the service was. Gary and his crew even stepped up to do some things that was not their responsibility, but were willing to do it anyway so that my daughters wedding was perfect. This place is absolutely amazing!! They catered my wedding last April and I cannot express how grateful I am for them!! Their food was delicious and all of my guests had nothing but praise for them!! I had eaten here prior to my wedding and even after. I highly recommend them (even if it's just for a date night, lunch date, or catering for special events). They were so helpful with many things (helping accommodate those with gluten allergies, helping with cutting my cake for guests, and they were reasonably priced). read more

I go into Bedoe's Bar and Grille on a regular basis. I eat there as well as go to the bar area. There is a reason I keep going back to the same place. I not only love the food, but, I enjoy the bartenders as well as the servers. If you live in the area, this is the best local bar to go and feel at home! If the reviews are added up and averaged it is a 4 star not three. BEDOE'S is a neighborhood bar and grille with many excellent experienced servers and a few local servers learning to be server. Sometimes the inexperienced make mistakes but the owners and managers make things right. The food is consistently good. Friday night peak time can result in a 20 minute wait but usuall seating and service is good. read more

I sat on the main level which had mostly booths (for 4 & 2 persons), half booths, bar seats, and a few tables. The interior was classy, but the ambiance was not. The mood was ruined by whiny acoustic music, probably picked by the staff and not for the customers. I can normally tune it out, but the uncharacteristic F*bombs coming from the speakers were a mood killer. And while waiting for my meal I heard the following exchange from the kitchen: "Your late!" "Are you going to fire me? Please send me home!" The hostile attitudes in the kitchen was unfortunately reflected in the meal. I ordered the fish and chips, and the fries were nicely cooked. The crust on the fish also looked good. But the fish inside was watery and unpleasant. It was also topped with a mass of cilantro sprigs, which did not pair with the flavors. I managed to scrape them all off. The fish was served with vinegar, ketchup, and (missing) tartar sauce. The friendly and attentive waitress was quick to correct the missing sauce, although it did take awhile. My meal also came with a side of slaw that would have been outstanding if the kitchen hadn't made a misstep of loading it with too much salt. The other seasonings in the slaw were excellent and unique and the addition of red onions was great, but sadly ruined by the saltiness. At the end of my meal I visited their modern and stylish restrooms. I'd arrived just after 5PM and on this weekday there were only a few patrons. So the stylish furnishing of the restroom were marred by the mess I encountered in there. Based on the number of employees compared to patrons, there wasn't an excuse for not cleaning that bathroom. I've seen truckstop restrooms that weren't that nasty.

Because we were in a hurry, we just ate a bit (mostly the outside of the burger) and took the rest for our dogs. The burgers were very flavorful but we just couldn't get past that rawness. We would definitely come in again though and probably order the burgers medium well. It looked like a cool hangout out spot in the evenings for a few beers. I believe there is live music as well but I'm not positive.

Unfortunately, that was not the case, and I am currently disputing the charge with my credit card company. Overall, this was a very disappointing experience and a significant decline from my previous visits. To add context, there were only two other people dining in at the time.

Expectations were exceeded as far as bar food. The fries are pretty basic, but they are salted good- no issues there. The service was really good my first time here, however, I've seen some service that seems inconsistent after a second visit. It's not distractingly inhospitable, but it's not high tier care. It's fun for social events, watching sports, or having a large variety of drinks, but it's not the best choice if you're looking for a basic dining experience in downtown Woodstock.
