    Fried Brussels side
    Gretel Y.

My family spent Christmas in Canton. After staying in all day on Christmas Day, we were all eager to leave the house the next day. We made a lunch reservation the day after Christmas for a party of five. We arrived a few minutes early and were able to find street parking in front of the restaurant. We were greeted and seated right away. I tried the following: Complimentary house biscuit Fried Brussels side Smoked trout salad $17 The staff brought us complimentary biscuits shortly after we were seated. The biscuits were soft, flaky, and delightful. I could have easily devoured the entire table's plate of biscuits. For my entree, I opted for the smoked trout salad with a side of fried Brussels sprouts because who doesn't love crispy fried Brussels sprouts? They were delicious and crisped to perfection, by the way. The salad was excellent and came with a generous portion of smoked trout and veggies. The dressing was light and tasty. My party was very pleased with the food and portions. Some of us even had leftovers to take. Service was very friendly and helpful. Would definitely return next time we visit our family in Canton!

This is our GoTo place in Downtown Canton. Every meal is amazing, the bartender is creating amazing craft cocktails every week and small but always decent beer list. I have had so many amazing meals here. My favorites include the smoked salmon dip appetizer, the fried chicken is the best fried chicken I've ever had, the pulled pork is awesome, the salmon, grilled chicken and all the nightly specials I've had have been great. The sides for meals are always artisan and delish. The vibe is bright, high end southern and the bartender is awesome! This place is a must if you're in Canton. Never disappoints.

Local Fresh Crispy Fried Chicken Breast

This was my first visit to the downtown historic area of Canton, and I decided to try Queenie's after considering many of the local establishments. Upon entering the restaurant, I asked the hostess what she would recommend I order. She mentioned a couple of items, but she said one of the most popular was their fried chicken entrée. Rather than waiting for a table, and being that I was dining by myself, I decided to sit at the bar. Everything about this experience either met or exceeded my expectations. I'm not a huge fan of biscuits, but they brought a warm biscuit with some honey butter that was simply out of this world. I ordered the fried chicken breast with a side of mashed potatoes and mac & cheese. The mashed potatoes were some of the smoothest and creamiest I've ever had. The mac & cheese was rich and creamy as well. If I ever return to the downtown historic Canton area, I would definitely consider returning to Queenie's, and I would highly recommend the restaurant to others. Cheers

Arrived 4:30PM on a Thursday in December and was immediately seated. Within 2 minutes a friendly waitress had taken my drink and entree order. In 3 minutes my drink and complimentary bread arrived (a square pan biscuit, corn muffin, and whipped cane syrup butter). 5 minutes after that my meal arrived. I'd ordered the special which was a country fried steak with herb butter and mashed potatoes. All items were so lightly seasoned as to be to unrecognizable. For example, I could not taste rosemary, thyme, nor garlic in the mashed potatoes as noted on the menu. The herb gravy had no distinct notes. I requested salt and pepper and the waitress quickly provide those and they elevated the meal somewhat. All ingredients appear to be quality and nicely prepared. My side salad had a good variety of vegetables (although oversized slices that needed some work to cut them into bit sizes) and the cornbread croutons had a nice texture. The ranch dressing was decent. The portions were good and without hero flavors the menu will appeal more to those who prefer unseasoned meals. The decor is classy and comfortable, with a combination of booths, tables, and bar seating.

Very quality service and food. Came at 6pm on a Saturday, had a reservation. At the table we had brisket, fried chicken and pulled pork. Sides were Mac and cheese, brussel sprouts, sweet potatoes. Brisket was incredibly tender, slightly fatty for my taste. The chicken and pulled pork were perfect. The biscuits app are a MUST with the white gravy. Dessert was ok, wasn't wow-ed by the cheesecake or pecan pie but they were decent.

Food: farm to table. So good. Everything was fresh made to order and so much flavor! .Started with the Smoked salmon with ciabatta bread. Huge portion, shareable for 4. For dinner we shared the special of short rib beef stroganoff and the Fried chicken with collards and whipped potatoes. I don't know what they put in those potatoes but just the way the simplest dish like mashed potatoes just melted. OMG! The chicken was fried to perfection with a beautiful dressing of white country gravy. Collard the absolute most flavorful I have had in a long time. The stroganoff was also a hit. The wide noodles. We chose without the mushrooms and it didn't take away from the dish. The beef was melt in your mouth tender. Hats off to the chef! Drinks: bartender Kiersten did a wonderful job keeping up with both the bar and service bar. Grabbed the Taquito drink. Refreshing and delicious. Let's talk service. Jess not only wowed us with service but her knowledge of the menu and the establishment. Would highly recommend to anyone willing to make the drive to Canton. Ended our meal with good ole fashion banana pudding. The atmosphere really made the entire experience. Laid back, southern home grown with a contemporary flair. We were sat in a booth, spacious and the seats were very comfortable. 100000/10!

Are reservations recommended for dinner on a weekday?

It's a busy place even on the weekdays. Unless you get there for an early dinner I would recommend making a reservation.

We had reservations for 5:30 and they quickly seated us. The staff were friendly, accommodating, and attentive and we never lacked for drink refills. The seating is comfortable and there is upstairs dining accessible by elevator. I ordered the special, a thick cut pork chop. While my wife had the Trout Almondine. For side we chose the creamed kale and risotto. Before our dishes came out I had the kitchen salad with bleu cheese dressing and their complimentary bread. The dipping sauce was nice and a real twang. It was nice and unique for a few bites, but the vinegar was too strong to enjoy it past a few tastings. The salads were nice but nothing terribly exciting and with big leafs of greenery on a flat plate to challenge your dexterity. My pork chop was perfectly cooked and the flavors were fantastic. I'm not a kale fan, but there take was very good. Although the amount of lemon used in the flavoring was a bit too strong for more than a few bites. My risotto also had a sour note, but not as strong, and they were wonderfully creamy. We sampled each other's entrees and I'm not a fish person, but I almost (but not quite) almost regretted not getting the trout. It was absolutely delicious. And the sauce on my pork chop was fantastic. At the end of our meal I visited the restroom, which was where things turned downhill. I know older buildings can be a challenge to keep nice, and there's no predicting when a previous patron can leave a mess. But when I saw the revolting detritus piled in the corner, it was obvious the dirtiness of the bathroom was due to staff neglect over an extended period.

We stopped by for lunch and were really impressed with the quality of the food and the great customer service we received. We started our meal with the crab dip and hush puppies and it was a great start to our meal. Everything arrived warm and fresh and delicious and great for sharing. For our entree we ordered the special pasta of the day which was a pesto sauce pasta with chicken and the shrimp and grits. Two completely different types of dishes and both were absolutely FANTASTIC! The pesto sauce of the pasta dish was one of the best pesto sauces we have had in a really long time. Absolutely delicious. The shrimp and grits was just perfection the very best grits I've also had in a long time. The shrimp was perfectly cooked and the whole dish was so full of flavor. Truly one of the best dishes I've had in a long time. We thoroughly enjoyed our meals, everything we ordered was absolutely delicious. Best part - the restaurant was so affordable (especially for a seafood restaurant) which we loved as well. We have dined at many expensive seafood restaurants over the years and most are simply overpriced and the food is usually ok but not wow by any means. I can truly say the food at this restaurant was WOW, and at a great price point. The shrimp and grits was only $17 for a large plate of delicious food it was 100% worth it and more. Service was great as well, everyone was very friendly and attentive, and made great recommendations for dishes to try. Overall, one of the best dining experiences we have had in some time. If you are in Georgia and looking for a great meal in highly recommend checking this little gem out. You won't be disappointed!

First good sign: the bartender had classic bartender energy. Easy to talk to and good at what he does. Looking at the menu, I immediately noticed some French touches, including escargot, which you almost never see around here. I had to try it. It wasn't the best escargot I've ever had, but when a place in Canton is putting it on the menu, you give them credit for the effort. The real reason I came in was the oysters. I'm a big Roberto's in downtown Woodstock fan, which I consider the oyster mecca of the area. So I was curious if Canton had anything comparable. To their credit, Going Coastal actually does oysters properly. Not just the usual generic stuff. They had Murder Points, which tells me someone in the kitchen cares about quality and sourcing. I also ordered a piece of fish. They cook it to order and let you choose how you want it prepared. Some people want the chef's call, others like control. Either way, the execution was solid and the flavors worked. Bottom line: this is a good seafood spot. The best seafood option in Canton.

They had a noticeably strong smell right away, which usually means they're not as fresh as they should be, especially at a $40 price point. We took them home, but every time we opened the fridge the smell hit us, so they ultimately went in the trash. Despite this particular experience, we've always enjoyed this place.
