Friday evening was another enjoyable weekly outing with six friends from our subdivision, and our visit to Sidelines Grille in Holly Springs truly made the night complete. The food was prepared exactly as requested, thanks to our server, Rylee, who made us feel right at home with her smile and quick attention to every need. Our group sampled several dishes, including Lola's Meatloaf, the Smothered Chopped Steak, the Pub Pretzel Burger with Pimento Cheese, and the Wedge Salad with Blackened Shrimp. Everything arrived hot, generously portioned, and cooked perfectly. Not a single complaint from anyone -- a rare achievement for a group of seven. We were also impressed by General Manager Shane Mayerhafer, who went out of his way to help us find seating. Because of a slight delay, he surprised our table with complimentary chips and dip -- a thoughtful gesture that set the tone for the evening. I eat here regularly, usually once a week and sometimes twice. There's a reason: the food is fantastic. For bar food, Sidelines in Woodstock is probably my favorite place in the area. Everything I've had is well seasoned, properly cooked and consistently good. There's another Sidelines nearby and I don't go there because the food simply isn't as good. This location gets the food right. But there are problems here that shouldn't be happening. The floor around the bar can get incredibly greasy--enough that I've worried about an older customer slipping and falling. I've mentioned it before. I was told they knew it needed to be degreased. Yet it continues. Then there are the plates. I routinely get plates with greasy fingerprints on them. Today mine had a large greasy thumbprint. I worked in professional kitchens. You don't send a plate out looking like that. Wipe it before it crosses the pass. The chef should notice. Whoever is expediting should notice. The server should notice. Today, halfway through my sandwich, I also found a small piece of plastic on the plate that appeared to be from food packaging, then a small hair, possibly an eyelash, beside the sandwich. Accidents happen anywhere. Good restaurants catch them before the plate reaches the customer. And then there's the restroom. About three weeks ago I went in and it was absolutely filthy. Not "someone made a mess during lunch" filthy. Old, matted toilet paper was stuck to the floor and all around and behind the toilet and pedestal sink. The mirror was dirty. There was grime everywhere. This had clearly accumulated over time. It was bad enough that I took a video. After eating, I went to the host stand and asked for the manager. She was standing there talking with other employees and told me she was the manager. I explained the problem. Her immediate response was: "Oh, I don't ever go in that bathroom. I don't go in there. I don't check that." I was blown away. The manager of a restaurant was explicitly telling a customer she doesn't check one of her restrooms. Rather than taking responsibility, her first response was to distance herself from it. She told me to just tell her what was wrong. I said she needed to see it and offered to walk over there with her. She showed no interest in going. I told her I had taken a video and offered to show her. Again: "Just tell me." No. I insisted she watch it because describing it wouldn't communicate how bad it was. I showed her the entire video. After seeing it, she said she would send someone back to clean it. Fine. Surely it would be handled. Except it wasn't. The next time I was there, I checked. It was pretty much the same. The same matted toilet paper was still around and behind the toilet and pedestal sink. It had not been properly cleaned. I said nothing. I don't beat dead horses. I had gone directly to the manager, offered to take her in there, made her watch the video when she wouldn't go look herself, and she told me it would be handled. If it still wasn't handled after all that, I had my answer. I was back again today. The same manager was there, sitting by herself at one of the long high-top tables looking at her phone. Meanwhile, my plate came out with a greasy thumbprint, a piece of plastic and a hair on it. Management was there. This wasn't a day when nobody was in charge. Even the service reflected the same lack of attention. I needed to leave, so I asked the bartender for a to-go box. She had taken my order and served me one drink; other staff brought my food. I still tipped her $3, roughly 18% of the entire check. While I was still sitting there, she picked up the signed receipt and looked at it. Let the customer leave before you collect the receipt and see what they tipped you. When I got up to leave, I thanked her. Her response: "Yeah." Not "thank you." Not "you're welcome." Just "yeah." Any one of these things alone could be dismissed. But eventually there are too many things pointing in the same direction. The problem is management. There doesn't appear to be an adult in the room establishing a standard and making sure it is followed. And by "adult," I don't mean age. I mean someone taking ownership. Walk the restaurant. Check the bathrooms. Look at the floors and the plates leaving the kitchen. Train the staff. Correct things when they're wrong. Follow up when a customer brings something serious to your attention. Hold people to a standard and make sure it was actually met. That's managing. Standing at the host stand--or sitting at a table looking at your phone--while these things happen isn't. I really like this Sidelines. That's why I keep coming back and why I'm bothering to write this. The food is genuinely excellent. This should be one of the easiest restaurants in the area for me to recommend. read more

I arrived on a busy Friday evening, about 7PM, but the wait wasn't too long. I started with the 3 dip appetizer and had it half-and-half: tortilla chips & soft tortilla triangles; and I liked the option of the soft tortillas. The chips had a hint of some chemical or preservative that was a little funky, while the soft tortillas were tasty. Of the three dips, the artichoke dip was my favorite. The buffalo chicken had nice chunks of chicken and would have been my favorite, but the vinegar was too strong, and the sourness dominated the flavor the more I ate of it, so it didn't get finished. The queso dip flavor was adequate, but was a bit watery and had begun to separate. For my meal I had wings and were a decent size and flavor. The Ranch and Bleu Cheese dips were a good flavor. Service was a bit of an issue, as the waitress kept forgetting my refill. Which is a problem when eating spicy food. And the visit dragged on too long due to her absence. It took over 20 minutes to get my bill processed. read more

First of all I want to say everything from start to finish was amazing. I went about a week ago and wanted to make sure everyone knew the outstanding and wonderful service and experience I had. the food coming out fantastic just like i ordered it and on a timely basis and even got dessert also on a timely basis. Second my server Alex had the best personality she was extremely attentive and the best service Iv ever had in a sidelines. The atmosphere was a great vibe. In two years, this restaurant has declined significantly. We've had dinner with friends many times, but the last two have caused us to not wish to return. The service has become friendly but distracted and amateurish. More crucially, the food has declined. During our last visit, I ordered a $17 BBQ Maple Bacon Burger (BBQ sauce, maple syrup, pimento cheese) medium but with Swiss to replace the pimento and receiving a well-done patty with one small slice of bacon. Nothing else. No BBQ sauce, no maple syrup, no offer of lettuce, tomato, etc. Was charged extra for the single slice of Swiss. Had to ask a server (not ours as we couldn't find her) for mayonnaise which was finally brought to the table and one of our guests had to remind her to bring the beer he'd ordered. At least the Bang-Bang Shrimp appetizers and the sweet potato tater tots were good this time (cold last time). This is a sports bar so expect it to be loud. read more

Consistent table service and really good food are what keep us coming back. The menu has all the basics and a few interesting additions that help provide some unique flavors for someone who is bored of bar food. There are TVs everywhere, and a small screen at each table, so it is easy to see how this place was voted Best Braves Bar in 2024. It is super busy on college football Saturdays and NFL Sundays, but you can usually find a seat during the week. There is a comfortable covered patio in the front as well. Occasionally the bar service is lack-luster. I don't know if it is bartender personality, or that the service bar requirements are high, or that they cater to noisy bar regulars over other patrons, but it is often hard to get a refill when my glass goes empty. read more

We picked up the tab for the Holly Springs Police and were told that if a patron has asked to pick up their tab, the normal discount applied for the Police wouldn't be applied. I ordered To-Go online and when the person picking up our order returned home with the order, we were missing a garlic bread, our wedge salad was requested to have ranch dressing and extra ranch with it (it came with one blue cheese), and we were missing the Mr. Pibb from our kid's meal. Sat down at the "least" dirty bar table on a slow Monday evening and sat there completely ignored while we watched a bunch of employees sitting around a table talking to each other. After about five minutes without so much as a "be right with ya" we got up and walk right by all the employees on the way out and they didn't even care. Honestly, really good food every time I come here. Sandwiches are tasty, wings are good, sweet potato tots are unique and delicious, plus a very diverse menu with a lot of options. The jalapeño ranch is also very very good. It can get crowded, but I was very impressed with the online ordering and how quickly and accurately the order was prepared. We've only been to this location once and we just got wings & fries. My gripe? The cell phone trivia. I needed to understand how that works, so we went in one day to see. The place was covered up, which is to be expected with trivia, but we were seated at a high top at the far back corner of the restaurant. We asked about trivia and they said we had to sign into the game wifi, but the service was spotty where we were. While we were able to connect, it wouldn't stay connected. Once the game started, it was difficult to hear the emcee, so we could only go by the screen next to us. But the signal kept dropping. Finally, it seemed like the wifi went out altogether. I like that you have to stay logged in and on the screen to deter cheating, plus it's as much about speed as it is accuracy. But playing on wifi is way too sketchy, so we left after a handful of questions. read more

Recently got some take out food from this location. Luckily, I ordered a salad which was good. I asked for extra toppings & didn't get them but besides that it was fresh & I enjoyed it. But it was a little pricey adding chicken & the chicken wasn't the greatest. My family got wings to go & they said they were the worst they've ever had. I didn't try any, but just looking at them you could see that they weren't crispy, they were chewy & there was hardly any seasoning if any on the lemon pepper wings. They also messed up the flavors my dad split so unfortunately he ended up getting a bunch of the unseasoned lemon pepper instead of half & half like he ordered. My moms boneless wings weren't tossed in sauce but rather looked like they drizzled some on top before putting the to go box in our bag. Considering the price they charge for wings & previous experiences we've had here, we expected more. Not a deal breaker for me but definitely deters me from coming back here. The quality of their food is usually great & so is the overall experience but I'm not so sure now. read more

This was our first time coming here, and it was awesome! We decided to come for a late dinner after an awesome softball game win with 6 kids and 4 adults. Mason was so amazing and attentive to everyone, including the kids! Which is rare at a lot of restaurants!
