Canton Icehouse is a spacious dive bar with good service & great food. My husband is an avid Philly cheesesteak fan and he thinks theirs is the best. The fries are hot and seasoned. Ok...the burger...the onion rings...the fried pickles... I had very little expectations when I came here for the first time...I just wanted to try something I hadn't tried and I never knew this place existed until I tried to go get cash at the ATM at the Bank of the Ozarks. I've had limited things here and mostly get it to go...because...I've heard things and...I've seen the news. But while I can't really comment on the ambiance or the service, I can comment on the fried pickles, onion rings, the buffalo shrimp, and the burger. First, the buffalo shrimp...don't get them. They aren't great. Now, the fried pickles...perfect. Fried pickles can't be hard to mess up, but I've been to a lot of places that have messed them up so I was really happy that the Icehouse served me up fried pickles where each one was perfect. The burger (ordered medium with bacon with a side of onion rings) is FANTASTIC. The burger is always perfectly medium, nicely seasoned, topped with fresh lettuce, red onion, and tomatoes. I don't know what kind of bun they use...but whatever it is, it's the best and toasted to perfection! The onion rings are big and tasty and complement the burger nicely. I usually call-in a to-go order for lunch and every one I interact with at that time of the day is friendly. The best part of ordering lunch here is that they have the 777 (7 meals, 7 dollars, 7 days a week). The burger is on that list. Stopped here solely because it was close to where I was working for the day and a place to continue to work on my computer to have a little lunch & a Friday beer. I had very low expectations - especially considering the previous reviews. I thought I would have a simple burger and beer and be gone. Little did I know that their cook (really chef) Tony would be a foodie and be fresh back from Italy with new cooking ideas. Their lunch special was Chicken Piccata w/ freshly made pasta and all sorts of goodies. What a surprise - it was really, really good. The freshly made pasta was perfectly cooked to an al dente, just the right amount of seasoning and salt (maybe it was the capers). It was so good that I asked the chef to come out and talk to him, compliment and ask some questions so I can cook my homemade pasta better at home. Service by Taylor was great and the entire experience excellent. Came in expecting typical blah bar food and left with a surprising great experience and a good memory of it all. read more

First time trying Canton Icehouse. We weren't impressed with service or food. Fries were cold, chicken wings were ordered with seasoning but came out with none, and service was extremely slow. Our server apologized numerous times for slow service. She was handling 7 - 8 tables by herself. You would've thought she would have had someone helping her as more tables got filled with customers. My GF & I just moved to the neighborhood from Denver, and we were excited to see this bar in practically our backyard. On Saturday night June 6th we arrived, showed our valid Colorado IDs, paid the cover, and had a good time listening to the Leonard Koggins Trio perform. Because of our pleasant experience, we decided last Saturday night to revisit the Canton Icehouse. However this time my GF was refused entry by the bouncer who said my GF's ID looked like fake ID's that they get. He gave the ID to a manager who also refused entry because she doesn't have a driver's license, but rather a state issued photo ID. The manager didn't bother to even make eye contact with us let alone speak to us. Apparently they will not accept valid out of state IDs, despite the fact that she was allowed to enter 3 weeks ago with the same ID. She has purchased alcohol multiple times from package stores since we moved here with no issues whatsoever. I'm 38 and she's 27. Message to the owner: You have lost our substantial future business due to your policy, your inconsistent ID checking by your employees, and your staff's insinuations that my GF was presenting them with a fake ID. It's a real shame because we were looking forward to many more good times here. read more

If the review was based on food alone, I would give Canton Icehouse 5 stars. But unfortunately, service is just as important (if not more important), so 2 stars it is. We walked in and were greeted by a gentleman that was clearly a manager, if not the owner. He wasn't very friendly, just asked for our ID's. Once we were seated, our server Emily arrived at our table in a timely manner. We asked a few questions about drinks and food, none of which she was able to answer as she had only worked there for a week. Not a big deal, she asked the bartender and was able to come back and answer our questions. She was very friendly, but clearly a brand new server not only at Icehouse, but also to serving in general. Our food was delivered by a different server, and looked great but wasn't fully correct. My wife ordered a burger and fries, and I ordered a buffalo chicken sandwich and fries. Mine came out as a wrap. When our server showed up, she didn't ask if everything came out correctly so I had to independently let her know I had ordered a sandwich but would keep the wrap. We had to ask for ketchup, salt and napkins. She brought those items back, but again never asked anything about the food. Shortly after her last stop to our table, we finished our beers and waters. 4 empty glasses sat on the end of our table for nearly 10 minutes before she came back. In that time, I watched her stand at the bar, eating. The manager/owner who sat us even came out into the bar area and looked around at one point, looked right at our table and did nothing to assist. When our server did make it back, she asked if we wanted more waters only, didn't ask about beer, and made an excuse that she was put in charge of poker for that night and shouldn't have even been given tables to serve. Side note, she only had 2 tables and this was clearly a lie as I saw her enjoying a meal while we were in need of more beverages and would probably have purchased another round of beer had she not waited until we were done eating before showing back up. Food was great. Service was awful, especially considering there was no excuse with 4 total tables and maybe 6 people at the bar top, with visibly 5 employees on the staff. If the owner doesn't turn the service issue around, this place will likely close down, which would be a shame. It's a very cool space with great music, games, and a large outdoor seating area. read more

I went into ice house last night to spend some time with my friends and as soon as we walk in were greeted by a friendly awesome security guy and then we walk into the bar where the bartender whom name i have not received yet was extremely rude and unprofessional. My response to her attitude from the beginning was "this is going to reflect on your tip" and i ALWAYS tip extremely well coming from the food service indsutry. However when we received our "shots" which was maybe .5 ounces of liquor was poured and the "drinks" were made i was handed my card and the tab to sign after being told to leave by Mike Slater who is the "manager" if you can call him that. He has little dick syndrome because he assumed i was talking shit about his bartender when i really wasnt. I never said a negative thing about them or the bar shots until after the fact when they told me to leave. I signed my $22 tab and this morning i woke up and checked my bank because i did not leave a tip for poor service. However they thought it would be ok to add a tip themselves. They stole from me and expected me to not notice. I called my bank and cancelled card and am now involving the police for falsely tipping themselves and stealing my money. Never go to ice house unless you want your money stolen or to be disrespected by the staff. Mike Slater is a poor manager and needs to be relieved of duty and the bartender who was high on some drugs last night needs to be fired too. read more

If you go here for Karaoke, I suppose this is fine, but this place sucks. Unfortunately, it's one of the few places in Canton for a brew and a game of pool. The bartenders are always talking with their friends or checking their phone. The regular clientele is abusive to anyone they don't know, and the staff is ill-tempered -- resolving every little issue by calling security. Security is busier than the bartenders. If you're looking for a neighborhood bar with a good vibe, this isn't the place. read more

God forbid your debit card gets lost and expect to Apple Pay. All the mangers and the waitress was extremely rude when they found out they had to wait for a friend to bring a debit card. Waitress was obviously pissed because she needed to get off shift and couldnt get her meth fix on time. Management stared at us entire time while we waited, incredibly disrespectful. She said that the kitchen was busy (the place was maybe half full). Okay, I'm a relatively patient guy, so we continued to wait. Another 45 minutes passed. A little put off, I asked our server what the problem was, as we had been there for 1.5 hours.. and everyone around us had gotten their food. She said that the kitchen is busy, there are large groups, etc. We waited another 30 minutes, and I walked around to find the manager.. who apologized profusely and explained that the server had forgotten to put our order in. This is about my 4th time going to ice house. First 2 times were great and no complaints, good beer & fast service. However the last 2 visits were just awful from a security standpoint, you can hardly even make eye contact with anyone at this bar or it will cause a fist fight. All I wanted to do was play a game of pool and most of the regulars act like dicks, and when I walk away not trying to start anything with anyone they start shoving and want to always start a fight with someone, and the bouncers do nothing. I've seen multiple fights in here and nothing is ever done about it. Very unsafe in my opinion, just keep you're head low and eyes on a tv, that should keep you safe hopefully. read more

Great food including these awesome little "hand pies" like meaty empanadas with pico and chipotle sauce. Wings of course but these are legit JUMBO's. I tried three times to patronize with friends...after using the bar option and table option could NOT GET WAITED ON IN UNDER 45 MINUTES. The last time I WENT WE WAITED 2 HOURS AND NEVER GOT SERVED our food. It was a birthday party or my date and I would've left sooner. Which gives the replacement...waffle house *****!
