Definitely looks like a locals spot. We were seated quickly and our server was fabulous. We ordered a few burgers and waited approx. 20-25 minutes before they came out. I feel like the cook must've been on a break. We ordered them medium and they came out closer to rare. Because we were in a hurry, we just ate a bit (mostly the outside of the burger) and took the rest for our dogs. The burgers were very flavorful but we just couldn't get past that rawness. We would definitely come in again though and probably order the burgers medium well. It looked like a cool hangout out spot in the evenings for a few beers. Huge. Friendly. Rock. Guston's Grille is nothing short of classic country bar food. Its portion sizes are absolutely worth a mention! When I have come here in the past, I've gotten the Johnny Cash Burger; imagine the width of a Whopper but with a 10oz patty... yum! This time around, I got a plate of their jumbo wings! I got a mix of the Ya-Ya-BBQ and the Lemon-Yaki. The sauce on the wings was fantastic, but the wings themselves were a little too crispy for me. The tator tots, however, were extremely crispy in the best way! My friend enjoyed an item off the brunch menu... the City Slicker Breakfast Bowl. Now this was truly very tasty, but the price for a little breakfast bowl was a little surprising in my opinion. While the food was just average for a bar, the experience was special. The two ladies who served us were friendly and down-to-earth with that true "make yourself at home" southern hospitality. They checked in on us super frequently and ended up giving our table a whole pitcher of sweet tea for free refills (we drank the whole thing). They did a special night at this location where they played exceptional 80s Rock for hours on their stage. The live singers are always so good here... If you live near the Woodstock area and you happen to come by, I would absolutely try and time it to be here during a live music night. You won't regret this experience with some friends! read more

Went to Guston's to watch the SEC championship game and have some dinner. This is your typical neighborhood vibe sports bar. Fairly large dining area, massive bar, stage for live music and TVs everywhere. The menu is filled with typical American bar fare at a reasonable price. Our server, Heather, was awesome. She was very friendly and prompt to get us drinks and refills, etc. We started with the Irish Nachos which were just fine. Nothing special. It was a nice size portion. The chips were fresh and had a nice crunch and the queso was good. Meat was just some diced up deli sandwich meat which was slightly disappointing. Probably wouldn't get these again but might try the regular nachos. I ordered the 911 burger. This thing was ridiculously large with its 2 10oz patties. The meat was grilled exactly how I asked which I appreciated. Under seasoned in my opinion but not terrible. I would recommend this if you are really hungry. Otherwise probably just grab any of the other burgers. My partner got the Buffalo Chicken Wrap. It was excellent. Crispy chicken tenders and the Buffalo sauce was top notch. Makes me want to go back for wings. If you are looking for a spot to watch the game and have a decent meal, I don't think you will be disappointed. Got to say this was not the best experience tonight. May have just been that we weren't in the mood for dining out. Everything just seemed a bit off. We have been to Guston's many times and usually have a good experience! Tonight it started with the fact that the service was a little slow. We were seated right away, but it took a while for our server to come by and take our drink order. We are just water drinkers usually and after we ordered our waters and appetizer, our server disappeared on us. It took a very long time til she finally came out with our pretzel. I guess the servers have to deliver their own food but we didn't order entrees until after our app came out. My wife and I both ordered burgers. Hers was completely plain and I got the Blackened Blue Burger. Both of our burgers were Waaaay over cooked and incredibly dry. The fries were good but the burger kind of ruined it for me. So strike two on the experience so far. Don't get me wrong. We have had great service and food here before. I could have just been an off night. We also came on a night with live music and we desperately tried to finish before the music started. I'm not sure what the deal was but for a majority of our meal we kept hearing "CHECK ONE TWO, CHECK ONE TWO..." The sound system in this place is really horrible and muffled and I was like "Buddy it still sounds horrible" I wasn't sure what he was trying to accomplish. I became really annoyed and couldn't get out of there faster. This is a GREAT place for bar food but NOT the best place to come for a person who is not ALL IN for a bar EXPERIENCE. read more

We've been here before for lunch and really enjoyed it. Tonight we came for the Irish offerings (Happy St. Patrick's Day!!). The corned beef and cabbage was massive and delicious! I would come in alone just for the pretzel! It's not oily, huge, and scrumptious. My tablemate liked the French dip. The service... First, it's St. Patrick's Day so they were really busy. The poor hostess was so incredibly busy clearing tables and sitting people but she kept her cool and was very pleasant. Then our server, who was nice and attentive, proclaimed within the first 5 minutes that he was never working St. Patrick's Day again. We asked later if people weren't tipping and he affirmed that. Tip when they are busy people!! All that said, the restaurant was clean as were the bathrooms. It was loud but not too much so. Families young and old were enjoying dinner. We enjoyed it! read more

When it comes to fish and chips Guston's has it made. Their fish portion is generous, really generous. Instead of chips, we always get the onion strings. This time they weren't as nicely cooked; they could've gone another three or four minutes in the oil to crisp them up and brown them. Instead, ours were hardly brown and somewhat doughy. Coleslaw has been improved. They are using a much better dressing making the salad very nice in a compliment. Service, as always is excellent. I hit up Guston's pretty regularly, the service is always great, the food's delicious, and the prices don't hurt your wallet. Donny, the owner, is one of those guys who actually comes around to say hi and make you feel like you're part of the place. (Just don't expect him to buy you a beer, LOL.) Yeah, they seem to have new staff pretty often, but honestly everyone's always friendly and on top of things. The fish and chips? Totally worth the hype, big portions and really good for the price. And I've gotta agree with Jeff below... the sexy redhead who hangs out at the bar is absolutely stunning. She usually starts dancing when the band plays on Wednesday nights, she is definitely part of the entertainment. It was a Friday night at 6:30 and the age old question - where to go and not have to wait an hour to sit down! I checked Yelp of course and we decided to try Guston's. It was busy, no surprise there, but they were able to sit us at a booth right away!! Major points there! The menu is quite large, plenty of choices, something for everyone. Started out with the onion strings, delicious. I was torn between the Reuben and the Willy Philly, but the Reuben won out and was stacked! My wife had a delicious salmon salad and my brother tried the 9-1-1 burger. Wow! Was a meal and a half! Plenty of tv's around to catch the game, very comfortable but not too noisy. Never have I had a bad experience at Guston's. It's just good, reasonably priced American food. Unless you have a hollow leg, you won't leave hungry. Our servers have always been very jovial and personable. You're not dining at the 4 Seasons, but you're also not paying a bill that breaks the bank. It can get loud, because the dining room is rather large; that also means you don't feel like the table next to you is right on top of you. There are plenty of TVs to catch all of the sports that are airing. Oh, and be sure to ask for Mighty Mouse. He's a great story teller. read more

Lots of bar top tables with larger bar, and traditional seating area tables to accommodate larger families too. Spectacular menu with quality food at reasonable prices. It's dark, kinda dirty, and just not a very nice place to eat. It reminds me of places I used to go with my parents as a kid in the 90s and I don't mean that in a good way. The service was slow, but friendly enough, I guess? I had a wrap and it was bland, the chicken was very dry and it was cold (even though it was chicken tenders). I was given about 12 fries while my companion was given about 40 (wish I were exaggerating). It really just wasn't a great experience and I don't really care to go back. I consider myself an expert on hamburgers so when I say this was the best restaurant hamburger ever, I mean it. I had other meals too and they're good but this burger just made me so happy. Solid Spot for a Laid-Back Lunch & Good Vibes Had a quick lunch break and decided to try this place for the first time. Sat at the bar--packed house, but the service didn't miss a beat. Ashly, the bartender, was on it! Friendly, efficient, and asked all the right questions to make sure my order was spot on. Took a glance at the plates coming out--big portions, everything looked fresh off the grill. I went with the veggie burger and fries, plus a cold beer while I waited. Classic sports bar atmosphere with plenty of TVs showing the games, but the noise level was totally reasonable. The crowd was mostly 40s-60s, and I ended up having a nice chat with another customer who mentioned they do live music on weekends--rock & roll bands bring the energy, definitely something to check out! Got home and dug into my burger--solid choice, well-dressed, and satisfying. The fries? Okay, my bad--I took too long before eating, so they were cold. Pretty sure they would have been crispy perfection if I'd eaten in. Lesson learned! Would I go back? Absolutely. Next time, I'll stick around and enjoy the fresh-off-the-grill experience. So here's the deal. I was here earlier this week and the food was great, the staff friendly. Any other night this would be a five star review. However, there's an issue with their trivia guy. Now I've been to hundreds of trivia events. I've even competed in some state wide trivia type competitions. I have never until last night known the political leanings of a trivia master. And this guy was a doozy. His opening speech said that if you cheat "you're probably a democrat". He at one point offered extra points if women would flash him, so long as they showed him their nipples with the caveat that that had to be "a natural born female nipple". Dude, you're gross. Of course maybe this is Guston's preferred clientele and I'm the odd one out? It's a business and they are free to prefer and dislike patrons as they see fit. I don't know. All I do know is that my family likes going out, loves trivia nights, and would have loved to come back here but not if this is the norm. read more

Love this bar. They have lots of events all week with specials. Wed's ladies night with drink special, friday karoke and Saturday live band night. Those are the few nights I know. The food is excellent. Bar food, salads, GREAT hot bacon dressing, meat and 3 type dishes, soups and dece apps. There really is something for everyone. Zero stars if you aren't white. We came in with a mixed race crew and immediately were looked upon. Heads continued to swivel at us as we were seated. Then as we were looking over the menu, some guy came up with some bogus excuse to tell my crew to leave. Came for the kareoke that started at 9:30. Sign on the door says after 10, you must be accompanied by an adult if under 21. We went in at 9:37 to sing one song. At 9:40- the owner I guess? Came over to our table to ask if we were all 21 one. My 20 year old sister who is drinking water was honest and he told us that we had to leave because we have to be 21. The guy told us it was policy but it was not 10 yet? We were buying food/ drinks.
