They also had a lot of vendors selling items from crochet animals and headbands to hot sauce vendors and many others. It was a free event but the bounce houses were $10 for unlimited jumps and the pony rides were also $10. All of the vendors were friendly and welcoming. This was my first time going to this event and I'm glad I went.

After relaxing and admiring the venue our host provided us with colored markers to add our names to the wall, which we did. I spoke to one of the founders of the bar who was an avid climber and his brother a surfer, who said the name of brewery Greenline derived from the previous business which was a deli. They restored the space which has some interesting words written on the historic brick walls - the profanity had to be hidden. The bar also had other beer offerings, which we did not try. My talk with Chris St Vrain, revealed how the brothers designed the jackets of their beers: Allenbrook with its rope designs on it and named after a secluded Roswell climbing wall; and Shirtless after his brothers' love of the salt life. We hung out for a short while and felt very refreshed. Nicole and I really enjoyed our time at this bar and hope to be back soon.

No one in town charges more for a beer than this place. For example, I enjoy local IPAs and Creature Comforts (Athens) is everywhere. I can go to several other stops in town and pay less for a 16 oz can or pour of this beer. Compared to another decent stop down the street, three roses is almost 30% more. My wife says one of the wines she likes is a little less than other stops, so that's good. But other drink prices tend to be on the high side as well, but most in town have higher liquor prices. That adds up if you like to frequent a place. Hence, we stopped frequenting. Overall, I like the decor and as noted, the food is decent. The upstairs is better than the downstairs but I'm glad they have the downstairs for some occasion when they could get busy. As for the Tavern / entertainment element, I've never seen any live music but they have several TVs. Not sure this would be my top choice to watch a game but it would work in a pinch if the other places were too busy or noisy.

The friendly and attentive waitress was quick to correct the missing sauce, although it did take awhile. My meal also came with a side of slaw that would have been outstanding if the kitchen hadn't made a misstep of loading it with too much salt. The other seasonings in the slaw were excellent and unique and the addition of red onions was great, but sadly ruined by the saltiness. At the end of my meal I visited their modern and stylish restrooms. I'd arrived just after 5PM and on this weekday there were only a few patrons. So the stylish furnishing of the restroom were marred by the mess I encountered in there. Based on the number of employees compared to patrons, there wasn't an excuse for not cleaning that bathroom. I've seen truckstop restrooms that weren't that nasty.

They had a noticeably strong smell right away, which usually means they're not as fresh as they should be, especially at a $40 price point. We took them home, but every time we opened the fridge the smell hit us, so they ultimately went in the trash. Despite this particular experience, we've always enjoyed this place. Service is consistently great, drinks are solid, and we usually leave happy. Hoping this was just an off evening, because we genuinely like coming here. Adding an additional * for the great service and because we haven't had a bad experience otherwise.
