The general manager came around many times to ensure we were having a nice dinner & enjoying everything. He comes with laughter & stories!

This was a special occasion for my mom's birthday! We started with Caesar salad & oysters kale-feller. For the main mom/JJ had a shellfish tower(3 tiers) & I ordered the wet aged New York strip (medium) with garlic mashed potatoes (real garlic on top) and broccoli. We ended with crème brûlée & a cute happy birthday treat from the house. Shoutout to our server & the GM for being the cherry on the top! Ambience is casual/dress up, dim lighting, a place to go and slow down for a minute.

I cannot say enough, good things about the quality of their food and service. When you want to go out to a special place, you want everything to be just right, and they consistently have mastered the art! From beautiful presentation to amazing flavors, and a well trained staff That seamlessly works together. I wish I had more photographs, but I was having too much fun

One of the best steakhouses in town, and would likely get way more hype if it weren't so far out there. Service was excellent, very attentive with several folks helping the main waiter we had. Drinks were good, with some pretty interesting cocktails and a hefty and very reasonably priced wine list. Steaks and cuts are a standout for sure, with more prime cuts, wet aged and dry aged selection than anywhere else in town. Sides selection was good as well, the cauliflower probably the most unique in terms of presentation. Brussels were good and mushrooms fantastic options. Don't usually go for dessert but given the occasion, everyone got something and everyone was pleased. Triple choc cake and turtle cheesecake were my personal favorites. Only slight stain on our experience was my wife's steak. She's celiac and they knew up front the glaze the steaks typically came out on were not safe to eat. However it still came out that way, and when it was noticed and called out. They took it back and the replacement came out within minutes. Did they prepare another steak that quickly? Have one already on the works? Or just wiped it off and replated? Hard to say, and my wife took a charcoal pill and ate it and thankfully didn't get sick. Would've been nice had the request regarding a food allergy been addressed up front instead of needing callout and correction. Would still be back and give it another shot.

Tried J Michaels for the first time and we will definitely be back. We got the bison ribeye and New York strip, both perfectly cooked. Our drinks were strong, service was excellence. Make sure you bring cash for the (complimentary) valet. The mashed potatoes were the best I've had! Definitely recommend.

Just a quick update to an already 5 star restaurant. J Michale's is a fabulous steakhouse but if you don't know, they run specials almost every day of the week. So on Mondays they put out this amazing fried chicken special. Yes a chicken special from a steakhouse. You would be amazed. I'm not, because I know that everything J Michale's puts out is fantastic. So it's a 2 person chicken special. 8 pieces of crispy on the outside, tender and juicy in the inside, chicken (full bird). 4 huge pieces of the best corn bread around. So moist. 2 of any sides on the menu and there are some good ones. And a peppercorn white gravy that's out of this world. What a delicious dish. Next on my list is Sushi Tuesday!

We had the most amazing time at J. Michael's Prime! It was our first visit there and we will definitely be back! Our server Loren was top notch!! She made sure we were taken well care of! The birthday girl, our daughter, asked for wine suggestions and Loren gave her great advice! The adventurous birthday girl had the elk and RAVED about it. My husband and I each had steaks which were prepared perfectly. I highly recommend the blue crab Oscar on your steak! The manager came to our table more than once to check on us and made us feel so special! She even remembered the birthday girl's name when they brought her dessert! What a special night it was!!!

Made reservations for an anniversary dinner and we were seated right away when we arrived. We were in a small room adjacent to the main dining room and it was nice and had a tv playing a fireplace scene. But it wasn't as moody as the rest of the restaurant ambience. They have a good variety of nonalcoholic beverages here and not just your typical "virgin daiquri", there were 0 alcohol wines, beers, and cocktails. For dinner we both had ribeye, one bone in and one without. I liked that they both came with seared garlic on the side. The steaks tasted good and were cooked just how we asked for them to be but there wasn't really anything about them that made me think "wow! This is worth $90" You know? My husband got a side of bone marrow and I think it is a great portion for the price. The side dishes were hot and we loved all 3. The wedge salad had a lot of dressing but it was not overwhelming because it didn't have too much tang or blue cheese "ness". It was a great balance. I loved it. The chocolate cake was to die for and a great way to end our anniversary dinner. They also packed up all of our leftovers and bagged them. All in all, great experience.

The service is superb! Jason was our server and what a gem! We stopped here on our way back home from dropping our doggie off for cremation...an emotional day to say the least. Even the hostess was compassionate when she asked if it was our first time and heard that it was and why we stopped. The food is amazing! I would pick this over most steakhouses. The drinks are delicious and spot on! I will be coming back for my birthday! Bring your piggy bank as it is a bit pricey but totally worth every penny for the amount and quality of food you get. I had the lamb loin and brussel sprouts. My hubby had the prime ribeye with garlic mashed potatoes. I ordered a mixed drink and hubby had a beer. We even had a dessert. It was all fantastic!

With a heavy mound of onions and mushrooms on top, the grits ended up feeling dry and pulled all the moisture out of the bite. The flavor itself was fine, just lacking moisture and balance. We also ordered the scallops and risotto. The risotto was the standout. Bright, fresh finish, great texture, and not overpowering. The scallops, unfortunately, were the opposite. They had a noticeably strong smell right away, which usually means they're not as fresh as they should be, especially at a $40 price point. We took them home, but every time we opened the fridge the smell hit us, so they ultimately went in the trash. Despite this particular experience, we've always enjoyed this place. Service is consistently great, drinks are solid, and we usually leave happy. Hoping this was just an off evening, because we genuinely like coming here. Adding an additional * for the great service and because we haven't had a bad experience otherwise.

I reserved a table for five here for Mother's Day because we've had mostly good experiences here,…read morehaven't been in a little while, and they had both crab cake Benedict and bottomless mimosas on the prix fixe menu, two of my wife's favorite things. They were clearly understaffed, which was apparent from checking in with the hostess. The line of people waiting to check in with her caused the waiter taking desserts downstairs to have to wait up to five minutes with that tray. Once we were seated, we thought things might go better. Crab cake Benedict was the #1 choice for my wife and BIL, but the kids' menu didn't have the chicken and waffles the guy who called to confirm my reservation had mentioned. That was no problem because my kids have learned to find something to eat wherever we take them, and I ordered chicken and waffles to share with them because I love my kids and knew I would get enough food one way or another. The mimosa came in a wine glass because they had run out of flutes, which was fine by my wife, but she said they tasted heavier on the juice than on the prosecco. My waffles came out a bit burnt, but they replaced them with no problem when we pointed it out. My kids got fresh waffles, and I enjoyed the burnt ones. The chicken was one decent piece for a person, but split between my daughter and me was less than I had hoped for. Thankfully, the salad was a decent appetizer. When the crab cakes Benedict came, we were shocked to see a mess of scrambled eggs on a thin crab cake with an English muffin under. We always ask for hollandaise on the side because that sauce can go several different ways of bad, but in this instance we were genuinely confused how a benedict could come with anything other than poached eggs! The flavor was okay, but the texture and presentation left a lot to be desired. My wife only finished half of hers and didn't touch the limp fries. You can probably figure out how I made do with food in this instance. Our kids, meanwhile, devoured their food like we had starved them their whole lives, so on the plus side we didn't have to hear kids whining about food! Service was polite but very slow. I don't know that we'll be back. With the abundance of good restaurants in our area, it's going to be hard to justify returning here.

We had reservations for 5:30 and they quickly seated us. The staff were friendly, accommodating, and attentive and we never lacked for drink refills. The seating is comfortable and there is upstairs dining accessible by elevator. I ordered the special, a thick cut pork chop. While my wife had the Trout Almondine. For side we chose the creamed kale and risotto. Before our dishes came out I had the kitchen salad with bleu cheese dressing and their complimentary bread. The dipping sauce was nice and a real twang. It was nice and unique for a few bites, but the vinegar was too strong to enjoy it past a few tastings. The salads were nice but nothing terribly exciting and with big leafs of greenery on a flat plate to challenge your dexterity. My pork chop was perfectly cooked and the flavors were fantastic. I'm not a kale fan, but there take was very good. Although the amount of lemon used in the flavoring was a bit too strong for more than a few bites. My risotto also had a sour note, but not as strong, and they were wonderfully creamy. We sampled each other's entrees and I'm not a fish person, but I almost (but not quite) almost regretted not getting the trout. It was absolutely delicious. And the sauce on my pork chop was fantastic. At the end of our meal I visited the restroom, which was where things turned downhill. I know older buildings can be a challenge to keep nice, and there's no predicting when a previous patron can leave a mess. B&B got their hooks in us! Husband was craving a burger, I wasn't really wanting anything specific; we just didn't want to go major chain. Keep them dollars local, y'know? Help a real person. Anyhoo, I did a quick search and asked if he wanted to try B&B again. Thank goodness he agreed, y'all. My only gripe with B&B is their parking lot. It rivals Trader Joe's for impracticality. So take your compact car! They had the corn hole stowed but heaters were blazing and there were people dining on the patio when we walked in. Better ye than me, folks! We were seated immediately and then we met our delightful server... Early server spotlight for Owen. Such nice energy for a gloomy Wednesday evening, really upbeat without being annoying, the perfect level of attentive. Go when he's there and reward his awesomeness as well! Okay, I decided this afternoon that I wanted a li'l blue plate special for dinner. And Husband wanted a burger. He got a spicy smash burger, the actual name escapes me. Spicy & smashed, she was! There was a good amount of heat from the pickled jalapeños so he took a few off. His recommendation is that they go for a smattering of the diced variety instead. (I've created a monster!!!) He was also very happy with his battered fries. Unless I'm misremembering, they remind me of A&W fries; not as seasoned or as battered as Checkers, but so good. What did I get? You're sweet to ask! I did three sides: garlic green beans, fried Brussels and fried okra. Yes, yes, and yes. They are so wild, I think all three were fresh! Can you even?! You know exactly what I'm talking about when I say frozen fried okra has a taste. If this was frozen ever, they need to patent that technology. The garlic green beans were giving Chinese food but better. Really balanced seasoning, good crispness, flavor. Green, if you can imagine! And the Brussels sprouts... With bacon and sauce... Those leftovers will hate to see me coming. "Leftovers?" I sense you ask incredulously. Yes. Because while perusing the menu online, I saw a nice, big picture of their Butter Toffee Cake. And I was instantly imbued with the knowledge that this cake would heal all my past traumas, pay off my student loans, and give me winning lottery numbers. Only time will tell on all counts. But if you order one thing at that restaurant, I demand it be that cake. The person handling those cakes went to the Hogwarts' Academy of Culinary Wizardry. I can hardly describe it and I have no idea what flavor ice cream is on top except it's the best one. If you like food, but especially butterscotch, or not - you need this cake. I blacked out after that and woke up here on Yelp, so... Please go try that cake.

My husband got a cinnamon apple whiskey sour, the mushroom Swiss burger and onion rings. The side patio had heaters going and it was a really pleasant experience out there now that the weather has cooled down. But y'all... Por que no gusto? I was so happy to see that little paper boat full of Brussels sprouts and they were so crispy. But I think I've said all along that "chipotle ranch" feels like a misnomer because I sense neither. (Husband confirms.) Yet they were SO good the first few times I had them, whatever they're dusted in. I stopped to think maybe my preferences have just changed that significantly in the past year or so. I absolutely did not taste Husband's drink because brown likka is diabolical. But he was a fan! He had me try an onion ring and it was just okay as well, unfortunately. They were definitely thin & crispy but I like a LITTLE somethin' to my food. The quality of the beef was amazing and the fact they will cook it to your preference is what is going to make me come back. I also like that the prices are affordable but you still get quality. Did takeout cause we were working an event at the Mill but I'm sure service is amazing. Ambiance is solid because they have indoor and a walk up counter. Hot days in sure inside is better but when events are going on at the mill I can see why they so packed. Give this place a try, something for everyone for sure.
