Fresh seafood and friendly staff! Love how they have a variety of fresh catches of the day that can be prepared coastal style (their house seasoning), cajun, blackened, or miso. Jen, our waitress, was a gem. Definitely worth stopping by when you're in Canton!

I arrived a bit before 5PM dinner rush on a sunny Thursday evening. I was able to park about a block away and enjoy the weather. There were only a couple of patrons so I was able to get a seat immediately. They offer tables and booths. The waitress arrived shortly to take my drink order and when it was delivered I place an order for the friend shrimp entree and requested the lobster mac-n-cheese as a side. The Lobster Mac isn't listed as a side dish on the menu, but is on the website. Due to a kitchen mix up I ended up with the full size dish as my side, but they didn't charge me for that, and I was able to take the leftovers home to enjoy the next day. The entree came with a salad, and they accommodated my request to swap a Caesar as my side salad and it even was served with the official anchovy (very mild and not salty). The dressing had a great flavor and the croutons were excellent. My entree was wonderfully plump jumbo shrimp with perfectly flash-fried crispness. The sauces were good, with the cocktail sauce being a bit sweeter that the bottled stuff. I was very impressed and I want to bring my wife and explore more of their delicious dishes.

It was such a great feeling to devour a huge bowl of seafood in a cold day, slightly hangover.

I knew this would be a go to place from the minute I walked in! Delightful ambience, awesome service and delicious seafood! Can't wait to come back!

I enjoyed a quiet lunch at Goin' Coastal in downtown Canton. I was seated at the high top near the window and enjoyed the view. My order: salmon toast, coastal salad, and lobster bisque (not pictured). Friendly service, delicious food, warm atmosphere. This Louisiana girl felt right at home. I'll be back for the oysters 10/10

    grilled fish sandwich

Stopped in for a late lunch and ordered the grilled fish sandwich with a side of fries. The fries were great and enjoyed the remoulade but the fish was almost nonexistent...looked like they scraped the scrapes off of the grill. We have enjoyed dinner here before, especially the parmesan trout but lunch...i don't think so.

Mixed salad was served first with vinegarette dressing and after that the best steak I have ever had. It was perfectly cooked and soft and juicy, served with green beans with cherry tomatoes and roasted potatoes. My friend had Lobster Mac and cheese, and it was wonderful too. For dessert, we had a little pastry sampler. They were cute and tasty. It was nice to have some variety and a small dessert. Sometimes, those big sweets after dinner are too much to handle after a great meal. Seems that locals hang out at this place. It is perfectly located close to the Cherokee County Courthouse and a Theater on East Main Street. As far as parking goes, you might have to circle around the block a few times, if you are not familiar with the back entrance. We sat in the back dining room, and it was very nice. Service was good, but not extremely personable. Maybe the server was low keyed because it was a private event. Might be a great place to work since she has worked there 10 years. I would definitely go back again.

Tried Going Coastal for dinner tonight and enjoyed our visit. This converted old downtown Canton venue has so much character, charm, and warmth. Service was fast and efficient but not rushed. Grilled Salmon was cooked perfectly, moist, tender, and tasty. The filet was deliciously tender after the initial overcooked steak was replaced with a medium rare steak which was as originally ordered. Unfortunately, my wife was done with her dinner before my replacement arrived. It would have been nice if they at least left me my vegetables to eat while waiting. As for the salad, it was quite good with a nice variety of ingredients such as onions, beets, garbonzo beans, and hearts of palm. All of the above were quite good and enjoyable. The mini dessert sampler however was nothing special and I'd say below average in taste and quality. Best to skip this dessert choice. Definitely a place worth visiting again.

We had an excellent dinner with good food, my better half did say her shrimp and grits were a little dry. Our food was mostly wonderful, and plentiful. Only two improvement items was being unaware of the lobster special on Monday nights (waiter didn't mention) and the cold draft sitting anywhere near the front door. Not complaining but needs awareness

Apps. Fried Pickles ... lemme just say, whenever I see this on the menu, my pallet waters. I have to say the majority of my experiences w/ ordering them is not always so good. Saying this, I asked the questions from my lessons learned: are they thinly cut & battered heavy or lightly. I have to say that I did not regret ordering them. The batter was perfectly crusted & golden yellow. FRESH!!!! The oil was not transparent on them...U can tell this venue changes their oil. Crab Baked Oysters. The sauce was a bit on the heavy side, but otherwise wasn't bad. Didn't taste the crab as much. Entree. Blackened Rainbow Trout, filet very thin. To say that all of the fish served is @ 8oz, it did not look as such, maybe w/ the skin on, it coulda added weight. Anyway, to say it was Blackened, it did not meet my taste buds as I expected to taste the blacked seasonings. SwordFish in Miso. Now, this looked all the 8oz it may have weighed=*} The BokChoy, Spinach, and the rest of the accompanying veggies weren't overcooked, more like Al Dante, which was a plus so the nutrients weren't soaked out of them=*}. The texture of the fish was very healthy. Each of the flake would slide off the rest of the filet & did not disappoint. Ambiance. Although there were no white table clothes, the dining rm was kept very well maintained. If U don't make reservations, the seating choices will be on the side of the venue by the bar. No place of seating looked bad in any area of the restaurant. Service. Our server was on point! She cleaned our table most expeditiously. She saw a soiled plate & didn't wait until we were dining to clear them from our table. She also boxed up our appetizers wayyyy prior to our entrees being served so we happy about that. Our server ... again was OUTSTANDING! TY Nicole for such a pleasant dining experience!!! Ur a 10Star in my book.

With a heavy mound of onions and mushrooms on top, the grits ended up feeling dry and pulled all the moisture out of the bite. The flavor itself was fine, just lacking moisture and balance. We also ordered the scallops and risotto. The risotto was the standout. Bright, fresh finish, great texture, and not overpowering. The scallops, unfortunately, were the opposite. They had a noticeably strong smell right away, which usually means they're not as fresh as they should be, especially at a $40 price point. We took them home, but every time we opened the fridge the smell hit us, so they ultimately went in the trash. Despite this particular experience, we've always enjoyed this place. Service is consistently great, drinks are solid, and we usually leave happy. Hoping this was just an off evening, because we genuinely like coming here. They were clearly understaffed, which was apparent from checking in with the hostess. The line of people waiting to check in with her caused the waiter taking desserts downstairs to have to wait up to five minutes with that tray. Once we were seated, we thought things might go better. Crab cake Benedict was the #1 choice for my wife and BIL, but the kids' menu didn't have the chicken and waffles the guy who called to confirm my reservation had mentioned. That was no problem because my kids have learned to find something to eat wherever we take them, and I ordered chicken and waffles to share with them because I love my kids and knew I would get enough food one way or another. The mimosa came in a wine glass because they had run out of flutes, which was fine by my wife, but she said they tasted heavier on the juice than on the prosecco. My waffles came out a bit burnt, but they replaced them with no problem when we pointed it out. My kids got fresh waffles, and I enjoyed the burnt ones. The chicken was one decent piece for a person, but split between my daughter and me was less than I had hoped for. Thankfully, the salad was a decent appetizer. When the crab cakes Benedict came, we were shocked to see a mess of scrambled eggs on a thin crab cake with an English muffin under. We always ask for hollandaise on the side because that sauce can go several different ways of bad, but in this instance we were genuinely confused how a benedict could come with anything other than poached eggs! The flavor was okay, but the texture and presentation left a lot to be desired. My wife only finished half of hers and didn't touch the limp fries. You can probably figure out how I made do with food in this instance. Our kids, meanwhile, devoured their food like we had starved them their whole lives, so on the plus side we didn't have to hear kids whining about food! Service was polite but very slow. I don't know that we'll be back. With the abundance of good restaurants in our area, it's going to be hard to justify returning here.

We had reservations for 5:30 and they quickly seated us. The staff were friendly, accommodating, and attentive and we never lacked for drink refills. The seating is comfortable and there is upstairs dining accessible by elevator. I ordered the special, a thick cut pork chop. While my wife had the Trout Almondine. For side we chose the creamed kale and risotto. Before our dishes came out I had the kitchen salad with bleu cheese dressing and their complimentary bread. The dipping sauce was nice and a real twang. It was nice and unique for a few bites, but the vinegar was too strong to enjoy it past a few tastings. The salads were nice but nothing terribly exciting and with big leafs of greenery on a flat plate to challenge your dexterity. My pork chop was perfectly cooked and the flavors were fantastic. I'm not a kale fan, but there take was very good. Although the amount of lemon used in the flavoring was a bit too strong for more than a few bites. My risotto also had a sour note, but not as strong, and they were wonderfully creamy. We sampled each other's entrees and I'm not a fish person, but I almost (but not quite) almost regretted not getting the trout. It was absolutely delicious. And the sauce on my pork chop was fantastic. At the end of our meal I visited the restroom, which was where things turned downhill. I know older buildings can be a challenge to keep nice, and there's no predicting when a previous patron can leave a mess. But when I saw the revolting detritus piled in the corner, it was obvious the dirtiness of the bathroom was due to staff neglect over an extended period.
