Friendly greeting upon entry and seated in a booth. They also have tables including high tops. Although not leveraged they have a patio with a pergola that might be leveraged in the future. As an older building there was a slight funky smell, but not too overpowering. I started with the sampler platter and each item had a hint of heat to accent their savory flavors. The Red Beans & Rice had a good flavor, but with so much liquid it was more of a soup. The same for the Étouffée which also only had a hint of rice. The dark roux chicken and sausage gumbo had big chunks of chicken but I didn't see any okra. For my entree I had the fried Shrimp Po'Boy and it was a generous serving for a "half" sandwich on nice French bread. It was stuffed with lots of shrimp that had a good meal coating. The sauce drizzle had a sweet and spicy hint to hit with just an undertone of tanginess. Service was friendly and other staff were prompt to clear plates and check in on me. However, the waitress wasn't very present and I was unable to get a refill near the end of my meal. And there was an extended wait to get my check. A staff member told me that after they get their liquor license, that they will offer bread pudding in a bourbon sauce, and I'm looking forward to trying that.

5 Stars here!!! Service: Super Friendly and Slightly Slow for all the right reasons! Staff and owners were great. Service slightly slow, but only because everything is fresh and piping hot when it came out! My family and I will wait a little longer any day to get hot and fresh food. Food: Delicious!! My family and I are from Louisiana and have been saddened by the lack of authentic Cajun food (including trying Henry's). This stuff is spicy, flavorful, well-salted, and awesome! We are impressed and will definitely be going back. It's good to have real Louisiana food again. PLUS, they're actively working on adding southern comfort food dishes for people who do NOT like spicy food. They are for the people. ALSO, the owner shared with us that they use beef tallow to fry everything-the difference is noticeable in the best way. Menu: Best part about the menu is not having to order gigantic, full portions! Majority of the entrees have options to get a Half or Full order-perfect for a smaller portion or sampling multiple things. Vibe: Totally Louisiana, Cajun, Mardi Gras vibes in here! They played traditional Zydeco music over the speakers (if you know you know). The owner was great and friendly. We struck up a few conversations with him throughout our meal. You can tell he and staff strive to ensure their customers are happy. Price: super reasonably priced considering the authenticity and the high quality ingredients they use. Overall: We are thrilled to have discovered this new place (open for about four months now). We will be spreading the word. Good food and good times for real Louisiana food! ------------------ What we tried: Red Beans & Rice- super flavorful Chicken and Sausage Traditional Gumbo- dark and flavorful roux, PLENTY of meat (they don't cheat you on that) Crawfish Etoufee- buttery and delicious, plenty of crawfish every bite, nice spice and good crab boil type of flavor Seafood Gumbo- again, plenty of meat, good flavor, dark roux Crawfish Basket- probably best fried crawfish I've ever had. It's anything but bland-tastes like boiled crawfish that was flash fried or something Shrimp Basket- good shrimp, good size, batter was good and crunchy & not too thick Alligator Piquant- tomato-base and rich. Loads of flavor-if you're worried about the alligator part, don't be!!!! Tastes just like chicken just better somehow. Beignets- Supreme! Must order !! Super soft in the inside, thin and crispy batter on the outside, super hot and fresh, powdered sugar completes it, of course.

Must try! Authentic Cajun choices, and the ability to try small samples prior to ordering. Adding comfort food choices to menu this week. Across street, on right side, from Walmart near Quality Inn entrance. GPS stopped me early, so kept driving back. Owners encourage feedback, and both stopped by the table. Saves a long trip to NOLA, stop in and enjoy a Hurricane!or Abita as well.... Military discount. Highly recommended.

    Full Shrimp Po-Boy with Fries

So happy we finally tried this restaurant. It absolutely lived up to the hype. The shrimp po-boy was outstanding, with large, flavorful shrimp tucked into classic Leidenheimer bread that had a perfectly crisp crust and a light, airy interior. Everything was clearly cooked to order, and the service was friendly and attentive without feeling rushed. For dessert, the Cajun mud cake was a must: rich, gooey, and intensely chocolatey in the best possible way. We'll definitely be back.

Crawfish Etoufee, just crawfish, rice roux and seasoning.

This place has been getting rave reviews, but I think a more realistic review is in order. 6 Hushpuppies for $8, in a bowl with no dipping sauce. I could ask for it, but I think presentation is important. It was just large marble sized hushpuppies in a bowl. Ordered Crawfish Etoufee for $32 as my entree. It was ok. Again, just crawfish over rice with a roux. No bread to mop up the roux. I like my etoufee with tomatoes, peppers, green onions and celery. Clam juice or seafood broth, Cajun and creole seasoning. Wife got a Po-boy, nothing exciting about a Po-boy. Total bill was $79. 4% added since I paid with a card. No music playing, no LSU tiger swag on the walls, no alcohol, plain restaurant. Very little theme. Better experience can be had at Flatlands in Alpharetta. And their etoufee is only $24.

This place is a hidden gem!! Met Amy and Tammy and they are the best!!! Service was incredible, drinks were amazing and OMG the food!!! I had the seafood gumbo and the crawfish étouffée with fried catfish!!! Then the beignets.... wowzers!!!!! We will now be here every Thursday!!! Amazing food, drinks and people!!! Check it out!!

Just enjoyed Fun Lunch Friday at this new place! If you want real Cajun, this is your place! The flaky bread on the Po-Boy, the gumbo roux is dark and delicious and the crawfish étouffée was full of flavor! Mama is in the kitchen and does it right! and They give you a cash discount! They did just open. So give them grace! They are working things out. We love to support local and will be back! The manager made our visit enjoyable and even gave us a taste of the crawfish étouffée! Good luck to them! Hope Canton shows them some LOVE

Food and service both excellent. Highly recommend the gumbo. The roast beef po boy is fantastic also.

Beignets. Light fluffy and absolutely perfect.

New place is well worth the try. Food is amazing and staff is so welcoming. We tried the sauce pincaunte and the sampler platter. Everything had great flavor. I will definitely be going back for the crawfish étouffée. We ended the night with taking home the beignets. Absolutely perfect! Try this new place in canton and you won't be disappointed.

This is real homemade crawfish entoufee. Cooked to order.

The pita chips were freshly fried and so good, but that cheese dip and peach jam were top-notch!They had a good crowd inside for a Sunday afternoon and we sat on the patio which is super cute and dog-friendly. I was too full for dessert but the desserts are homemade and I wish I had saved room. I'm a huge fan of a place that makes their desserts I sight and it's not too common anymore.

We stopped by for lunch and were really impressed with the quality of the food and the great customer service we received. We started our meal with the crab dip and hush puppies and it was a great start to our meal. Everything arrived warm and fresh and delicious and great for sharing. For our entree we ordered the special pasta of the day which was a pesto sauce pasta with chicken and the shrimp and grits. Two completely different types of dishes and both were absolutely FANTASTIC! The pesto sauce of the pasta dish was one of the best pesto sauces we have had in a really long time. Absolutely delicious. The shrimp and grits was just perfection the very best grits I've also had in a long time. The shrimp was perfectly cooked and the whole dish was so full of flavor. Truly one of the best dishes I've had in a long time. We thoroughly enjoyed our meals, everything we ordered was absolutely delicious. Best part - the restaurant was so affordable (especially for a seafood restaurant) which we loved as well. We have dined at many expensive seafood restaurants over the years and most are simply overpriced and the food is usually ok but not wow by any means. I can truly say the food at this restaurant was WOW, and at a great price point. The shrimp and grits was only $17 for a large plate of delicious food it was 100% worth it and more. Service was great as well, everyone was very friendly and attentive, and made great recommendations for dishes to try. Overall, one of the best dining experiences we have had in some time. If you are in Georgia and looking for a great meal in highly recommend checking this little gem out. You won't be disappointed!

First good sign: the bartender had classic bartender energy. Easy to talk to and good at what he does. Looking at the menu, I immediately noticed some French touches, including escargot, which you almost never see around here. I had to try it. It wasn't the best escargot I've ever had, but when a place in Canton is putting it on the menu, you give them credit for the effort. The real reason I came in was the oysters. I'm a big Roberto's in downtown Woodstock fan, which I consider the oyster mecca of the area. So I was curious if Canton had anything comparable. To their credit, Going Coastal actually does oysters properly. Not just the usual generic stuff. They had Murder Points, which tells me someone in the kitchen cares about quality and sourcing. I also ordered a piece of fish. They cook it to order and let you choose how you want it prepared. Some people want the chef's call, others like control. Either way, the execution was solid and the flavors worked. Bottom line: this is a good seafood spot. The best seafood option in Canton.
