From the moment we walked in, everything was absolutely wonderful. Kind staff, great atmosphere, and later found out... amazing food! We went for a brunch Sunday morning, and I ordered a "Cajun Sausage Egg Skillet," with gouda grits. Let me just say that the team here really knows how to use seasonings. There wasn't a bland flavor in the whole mix! "Grand Ma's Chicken Biscuit," consisted of two delightful buttermilk fried chicken biscuits. Yes, you read that right. The fried chicken wasn't an aggressive crunch, but rather a light crispy consistency. This meal, accompanied with the breakfast potatoes, really tied everything together. Paula took really good care of us and honesty her recommendations guided us since it was my first time here. Lastly, if you're ever lucky enough to order the banana pudding, 100% order the banana pudding. I will be back, and I will be bringing friends! I will be back for their dinner menu especially!

Went back for lunch/dinner and still enjoyed the service. They are always friendly able to give good suggestions. I had the low country boil, fried grouper and she crab soup. The one thing I can say I cannot complain about the potion sizes!! I had grouper for days and they were good and fresh. I think the soup that day was missing something but still was decent and the boil... they do it right.

My wife and I had an early dinner on a Thursday. Not very busy being a little after 5:00. We were greeted immediately upon entering. As mentioned in other reviews, the ambiance is beach bar and tastefully done. The dining room appears very clean. Our server was a machine. No name tag but she was awesome. Had complete knowledge of the menu and today's specials. Didn't write our order down, which always scares me.. but she didn't need to. Very efficient she was... despite at least 4 other tables filling up. Had time to smile and humerus. She ran the floor by herself. Good job! The food. Similar to other restaurants of same type. They do seem to add their own creative spin. We had fried green tomatoes as an appetizer. For our entree's my wife had the shrimp special and I have Fish and chips. Everything was delicious and no complaints. The portion size of my fish was a little smaller than "the other place". Pricing seemed a little high... but that goes for about anywhere now a days serving cooked to order food.

In the past, Dive has always been a pretty solid option for seafood in Canton. We made reservations for a large party, and while everyone was able to be seated, the architecture of the table used for 7 people made it very difficult for the older members of our group to situate and then get out (heaven forbid anyone need to use the restroom.) Our server was quite nice, but not trained properly in the drink selections or the menu items. They were out of stock with grouper, which is a major component to their menu. They were out of stock in many of the wine selections. The She Crab Soup relies heavily on cream for its flavor, but it lacks dimension, though it does have a reasonable amount of crab meat. Other seafood options tasted like they were approaching the end of their shelf/shell life. I wouldn't recommend the boiled peanuts; they're soggy & overly spicy. My Cliff's sandwich catfish had no indication that it was pecan encrusted, yet there was plenty of cornmeal. I will say, they have good hushpuppies. We bragged about Dive to the family, and that's why we selected them for our celebration, but it was disappointing. When you're dining with family, nobody in the group wants to hear constructive criticism, so this is my way of letting the restaurant know that they weren't on their game. I hope they improve, because I've had some great food experiences here.

    Unfortunate lumps. :(

Got a lot of buildup for this place. Unfortunately it let me down. Had shrimp and grits, I'm a native southerner with a wide travel experience, so while not an expert on the dish, I've had some excellent curd and hominy soup. This was not it. Pic attached with the lumps I pushed aside, about a quarter of the dish. Unfortunately, I accidentally ate a few as well. Two stars on the food, service bumps it up one cause they were quick, attentive, and very friendly despite being understaffed.

Glad we took a 'dive' over to Canton for lunch! Pardon my cheesiness but I couldn't resist! My husband and I decided to head out for lunch while in Canton and decided on Dive. We were greeted immediately and our server took great care of us the entire time we were there! We both had the blackened grouper sandwiches and they were delicious!! The grouper was cooked perfectly and the slaw really brought a great balance. It had a slight sweetness that was a perfect pair to the blackening seasoning. Fries were hot and crispy. The restaurant is casual and easy going and clean! I am definitely looking forward to another trip to this local spot!!

Had brunch at Dive today. Very friendly service and pleasant greeting by the owner. Burger was very good as was the cheese omelet. Fish sandwich was good but not very filling as they were sliders. Homefries, French fries, and cheese grits were all okay, but below average for restaurants. Overall though, we enjoyed our brunch and would certainly return for the burgers or omelets.

05/31/22. Grand Opening. Just love this new Seafood place. The servers are already well trained and menu knowledgeable. Smiling and engaging as you want them to be. And they are happy to make recommendations if you ask them. The decor fits right in. The different blue shades on the wall, seats and tables makes it seem like you are actually diving with the mermaids. Lol The grilled chicken tacos were delicious sprinkled with just the right flavors. The home made salsa was perfect for me. A little spice but not to much. And the thickness was just right. Not to thick and not to thin. The Shareable blackened Shrimp Po Boys were very tasty. 3 small Po Boys was just the right amount. And the 3 mini key lime pies were heavenly. One with Raspberry sauce, one with kiwi and one plain. They come in little plastic bowls so they're easily bagged for take home. I think North Canton GA has another winner here. They do everything right and only the first day! Congratulations and the best of luck to you.

Service was outstanding, very polite and attentive! Not very large but roomy enough and not very loud, we were able to carry on a normal conversation at our table. Pimento cheese appetizer was very good, the crostini would've been better if they were warm. Shrimp ANF grits were seasoned perfectly and the andouille sausage added the perfect spicy kick. The carrot cake was absolute perfection as was the chocolate! Highly recommend and we will return.

We had a gift certificate and wanted to try this place again. Our first experience was a little bumpy the first month they opened (to be expected). The second time we thoroughly enjoyed the food and service. We sat at the bar and had a nice conversation with the server Paula. She made some great food recommendations- I opted for the Fried Pork chop and Fried Chicken with an awesome gravy over southern mashed potatoes. Simply outstanding. I ate half which was more than enough and have leftovers. My wife who is gluten free had the salmon and same mashed potatoes. She was very pleased with the preparation. We also had the Brussels sprouts appetizer which were excellent. Paula recommended Apple cake for dessert which was an excellent top off for the night. The only downside is they didn't have a gluten free dessert - crème brûlée would be fantastic. Anyway we had great food, service and will definitely be back. Highly recommended.

We had reservations for 5:30 and they quickly seated us. The staff were friendly, accommodating, and attentive and we never lacked for drink refills. The seating is comfortable and there is upstairs dining accessible by elevator. I ordered the special, a thick cut pork chop. While my wife had the Trout Almondine. For side we chose the creamed kale and risotto. Before our dishes came out I had the kitchen salad with bleu cheese dressing and their complimentary bread. The dipping sauce was nice and a real twang. It was nice and unique for a few bites, but the vinegar was too strong to enjoy it past a few tastings. The salads were nice but nothing terribly exciting and with big leafs of greenery on a flat plate to challenge your dexterity. My pork chop was perfectly cooked and the flavors were fantastic. I'm not a kale fan, but there take was very good. Although the amount of lemon used in the flavoring was a bit too strong for more than a few bites. My risotto also had a sour note, but not as strong, and they were wonderfully creamy. We sampled each other's entrees and I'm not a fish person, but I almost (but not quite) almost regretted not getting the trout. It was absolutely delicious. And the sauce on my pork chop was fantastic. At the end of our meal I visited the restroom, which was where things turned downhill. I know older buildings can be a challenge to keep nice, and there's no predicting when a previous patron can leave a mess. But when I saw the revolting detritus piled in the corner, it was obvious the dirtiness of the bathroom was due to staff neglect over an extended period.

I reserved a table for five here for Mother's Day because we've had mostly good experiences here,…read morehaven't been in a little while, and they had both crab cake Benedict and bottomless mimosas on the prix fixe menu, two of my wife's favorite things. They were clearly understaffed, which was apparent from checking in with the hostess. The line of people waiting to check in with her caused the waiter taking desserts downstairs to have to wait up to five minutes with that tray. Once we were seated, we thought things might go better. Crab cake Benedict was the #1 choice for my wife and BIL, but the kids' menu didn't have the chicken and waffles the guy who called to confirm my reservation had mentioned. That was no problem because my kids have learned to find something to eat wherever we take them, and I ordered chicken and waffles to share with them because I love my kids and knew I would get enough food one way or another. The mimosa came in a wine glass because they had run out of flutes, which was fine by my wife, but she said they tasted heavier on the juice than on the prosecco. My waffles came out a bit burnt, but they replaced them with no problem when we pointed it out. My kids got fresh waffles, and I enjoyed the burnt ones. The chicken was one decent piece for a person, but split between my daughter and me was less than I had hoped for. Thankfully, the salad was a decent appetizer. When the crab cakes Benedict came, we were shocked to see a mess of scrambled eggs on a thin crab cake with an English muffin under. We always ask for hollandaise on the side because that sauce can go several different ways of bad, but in this instance we were genuinely confused how a benedict could come with anything other than poached eggs! The flavor was okay, but the texture and presentation left a lot to be desired. My wife only finished half of hers and didn't touch the limp fries. You can probably figure out how I made do with food in this instance. Our kids, meanwhile, devoured their food like we had starved them their whole lives, so on the plus side we didn't have to hear kids whining about food! Service was polite but very slow. I don't know that we'll be back. With the abundance of good restaurants in our area, it's going to be hard to justify returning here.

For our entree we ordered the special pasta of the day which was a pesto sauce pasta with chicken and the shrimp and grits. Truly one of the best dishes I've had in a long time. We thoroughly enjoyed our meals, everything we ordered was absolutely delicious. Best part - the restaurant was so affordable (especially for a seafood restaurant) which we loved as well. We have dined at many expensive seafood restaurants over the years and most are simply overpriced and the food is usually ok but not wow by any means. First good sign: the bartender had classic bartender energy. Easy to talk to and good at what he does. Looking at the menu, I immediately noticed some French touches, including escargot, which you almost never see around here. I had to try it. It wasn't the best escargot I've ever had, but when a place in Canton is putting it on the menu, you give them credit for the effort. The real reason I came in was the oysters. I'm a big Roberto's in downtown Woodstock fan, which I consider the oyster mecca of the area. So I was curious if Canton had anything comparable. To their credit, Going Coastal actually does oysters properly. Not just the usual generic stuff. They had Murder Points, which tells me someone in the kitchen cares about quality and sourcing. I also ordered a piece of fish. They cook it to order and let you choose how you want it prepared. Some people want the chef's call, others like control. Either way, the execution was solid and the flavors worked. Bottom line: this is a good seafood spot. The best seafood option in Canton.
