Great drinks & food! Plantains are my favorite. Very cute fun ambiance with fun interactive decor

Skinny was mostly all ice

This was a quick dinner stop on a solo trip. Everything was fine, but was as typical as it gets for the random americanized mexican restaurant in north metro ATL. The Good: The staff was nice and the place was clean as were the bathrooms. Everything tasted as expected. The Challenges: Nothing will blow you away here. Although the food was fine, there was nothing memorable about it. The margarita was under-made so they just filled it with ice. No way that was 20oz. If this is convenient for you I get it, but don't go out of your way it. There are options poping up in downtown Canton that get the clear nod.

It is a solid Mexican restaurant. The chips and salsa were good. I liked that the chips were warm. Out server also provided a spicy salsa on request, that packed a nice solid punch of heat I was also hoping for a green salsa which they didn't have. The cheese dip was okay. I ordered mine with jalapeños but it didn't come with any. It was still pretty good and I just scooped some of the spicy salsa into it. My main dish of fish tacos was really good. Nice sized portions of fish and avocado slices. The pickled relish of onions had added a nice tangy flavor to the dish. It comes with a side. I would definitely order those again. I went with the black beans which were served lukewarm. Overall I would recommend it and I would come back.

Such a hidden gem tucked discreetly behind RaceTrac on Georgia 20. The menu is extensive with an amazing drink selection that an unnamed competitor across the street is trying and failing to duplicate. We were greeted by Marco immediately and served our chips and salsa upon sitting. The drinks are elevated in beautiful glassware along with thoughtful garnishes. The food menu takes a truly American twist exceeding tex-mex boasting waffle nachos (Mexican twist on cheese fries), Birria rolls, chihuahua soup, and a guacamole tropical to name a few just from the starter menu. Can't wait to update this review with all the goodness that is this little known cantina in our little town of canton.

Birria tacos and plantains.

This place was a pleasant surprise! I wasn't aware of it due to the location being a bit hidden. We stumbled in on a weeknight after a competitor across the street had a 20 minute wait. The decor and atmosphere was vibrant and clean. The menu is extensive with great options for food, drinks, and appetizers. The chips and salsa were great. Their drinks are served beautifully and my margarita was good and strong. The birria tacos packed lots of flavor. We will be back!!

Corn dip!

Go for the drinks and the corn dip appetizer. Everything else was just "meh" (wouldn't order again) but the Mamma Coco bevvie and the street corn dip were great!

Hands down the best and most authentic Mexican fare in Canton. It used to be our best kept secret but word is starting to get out.

I ordered an appetizer--something that is supposed to come out before the main courses--but it didn't show up until 15 minutes AFTER the rest of our party had already been served their order. I had to remind the waiter, and when it finally arrived, it was completely mediocre and not worth the wait. My husband ordered the $50 ribeye special, only for it to arrive noticeably overcooked. To make matters worse, the table next to us was apparently part of the ownership, and they received nonstop attention: drinks constantly refilled, multiple plates of food brought out, and prompt service. Meanwhile, our table was essentially ignored. No one checked on us, asked if we were ready to order, or even bothered to refill our drinks. For the prices this place charges, the service should be exceptional--not nonexistent. This was a frustrating, overpriced experience, and no, we will not be returning! To make matters worse, when the waitress did finally come to settle up the bill, she did not bring a bill and only shoved her phone in front of my husband's face with the only options of a tip being 20, 25 or 35% tip! No copy of the itemized receipt, at all- NOTHING!

This location is truly a hidden gem tucked next to TitleMax across from Captain D's. As soon as we walked in, we were immediately welcomed and seated. We decided to sit outside on the patio, which was a nice vibe. They had traditional Spanish music playing inside, which really added to the experience, and the overall atmosphere was very clean and welcoming. The restrooms were also clean, which I always appreciate. We started with the guacamole fresco and it was amazing, super fresh and exactly how I like it. I ordered the chicken quesadilla for $12 along with a sparkling water, and my partner got the lengua tacos with a side of refried beans. Not to mention, the presentation of these dishes were very satisfying to look at. Our food came out in under 10 minutes, which honestly surprised us in the best way! The staff checked on us consistently and made sure everything was good. My quesadilla came out hot and delicious, and the portions were very generous. Both of us left full and happy, and for the price, it was more than worth it. I'd recommend this place to any crowd really whether that be families, a casual lunch, a gathering, or even a date spot. This will definitely be my go-to Mexican restaurant, and next time I come back I absolutely want to try the quesabirria and the churros.

The portion sizes were perfect. The decor is old and outdated. It's an old pizza place turned into a Mexican restaurant. Overlook it. The food is the star at Puerte de Oro. Would I recommend it? Yes. Not for a fancy date, but for a good lunch or weekend outing, it's quite good.
