Pick Two: Summer Strawberry Poppyseed Chicken Salad (sans chicken) & Toasted Garden Caprese sandwich
Denise C.

Meh. The girl at the counter is pleasant enough when taking our order but no one acknowledged our presence after that. My sandwich reminded me of that old Wendy's commercial where the contents of the sandwich was not visible between the bread. Fortunately they screwed up and gave me a whole sandwich so I took the contents from one half to make a suitable half sandwich. My husband ordered the new Italian sandwich wasn't impressed. I should've taken him down the road to POPs. The dining room and bathrooms were clean and the music was enjoyable.

One noodle

Chicken noodle soup to go had one noodle in it. One noodle. And about one and a half pieces of chicken.

This was the pathetic Caprese sandwich I received. It didn't come close to resembling their advertised picture.

There is just no way to describe this sandwich except to show the pics. The caprese sandwich looked so good in their advertised picture and their description was wonderful. What I received was pathetic. It was just soggy lettuce with a tiny slice of tomato. No mozzarella or other described ingredients. This is the second time this has happened. I've now learned my lesson! On the upside, the broccoli cheddar soup was delicious.

I came out about 11:00 am on Feb. 14 after renewing my driver's license down the road at the DMV. At first glance it doesn't look like a typical Panera Bread. But I have a feeling that PB is taking a page out of Starbucks' play book by buying up run-down historical buildings in need of repairs. Then They restoring them to full glory and using them as commercial retail space. It's good for the community, its gets them good publicity and they get a great location for practically nothing. Win. Win. (Starbucks has done this all over the world. For example the historic Gilmore Gas Station in LA https://la.curbed.com/2015/3/20/9978380/starbucks-gilmore-gas-station-highland and the Bao An Street Mansion in Datong, Taiwan https://www.yelp.com/biz/Fhv1mRsKIPRa9sc73AqsXA?uid=FdPioXvctMq8lhBtd_NnTg&utm_campaign=www_business_share_popup&utm_medium=copy_link&utm_source=(direct) ) This PB location is within the area of historic Canton which is listed on the National Historic Registry. (As you may know the NHR is pretty strict about what you can and can't do and they don't care if it will cost you an extra $10K to install the correct historically accurate whatever...you can sue all day long and you will lose...Case in point the Texaco gas station in historic Roswell, Ga...the short version...When Texaco wanted to put a store in historic Roswell-the city told them they had to build the station up to historical code. Texaco sued because this would increase their building cost. Of course they lost despite their army of $800 an hour fancy lawyers....I'm betting the money they spent in court was more than what they would of been spending on building the station to historical code.) Any way...back to Panera Bread...you can tell they put a lot of thought into how the building will fit into the whole infrastructure of the community. Everything from the lighting fixture to the distressed bricks used makes it look like it's always been a part of the neighborhood. Besides the beautiful building and its historical significance...there is the excellent service that I received from the lovely staff here. A special shout out to Yolanda for taking the time to explain various items on the lunch menu to what her favorite items are to offering daily specials. I really appreciate her patience and professionalism. I got their pick 2 special with a coffee. It consist of half a mediterranean veggie sandwich, french onion soup, an apple (cut up...I've been to many Paneras and this is the first time anyone has ever offered to cut up an apple for me. Thanks) I was offered a cookie for an additional 99 cents which I couldn't pass up. My food was bought out by a smiling blonde woman who thanked me for my order and wish me bon appetite! Then after I finished eating someone offered to take my empty plate & soup bowl. Wow...this too has never happened to me at a Panera Bread! Thanks guys for a great lunch...keep up the good work!

Extremely long wait at the drive-thru with no other cars in front of me. "Broken" blender so couldn't order a smoothie. Had to repeat my order at the window. Then found this sticker in my food half way through eating it. Do not recommend.

Food was okay. The frosted sugar cookies are very good. Service was good. Booths on the window side had ants! I will not dine here again.

Step inside and you're greeted with a warm, welcoming atmosphere and the kind of friendly faces that make you feel right at home. Then comes the food--fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with care. My husband sticks to the classics (and loves every bite), while I always look forward to whatever creative seasonal dishes Andy and Amber come up with. Fall is my favorite time because I have to get the butternut squash pasta--it's that good. It's always great to see POPS busy, even during the week. It just adds to the energy of downtown and makes you appreciate having such a gem in the community. We truly hope POPS becomes a longtime staple here in Canton--places like this deserve it. If you haven't been yet, do yourself a favor and go. You won't regret it.

It was not immediately clear to me that this place was a counter service/seat yourself establishment. Restaurant had the vibe inside that it recently shut half its seating & bar space. The food was good, but I hope they improve the dine in experience.

I visited on a Thursday just before PM in mid-January and received a warm and friendly welcome. At this early our there were a few patrons about so there was no trouble getting a table. The darts, bowling, and arcade looked enticing but I was on a timeline and couldn't partake. They have a mix of 80's and later music that was very enjoyable and at just the right volume. I ordered the Chicken Fried Chicken. But unlike the typical serving of a flat piece of chicken these were two chicken breasts on top of chunky mashed potatoes made with peel on, and topped with a jalapeno bacon gravy. The textures and flavors were perfect and despite the visibility of jalapenos in the gravy, the heat was barely detectable. The side of green beans had a wonderful garlic seasoning and were perfectly cooked and had that nice crunch still in them. Multiple staff came by to chat and ensure everything was perfect and ensure my drink was always refilled, and even management came by to check my table. Their friendliness was warm and genuine and I was very impressed. I look forward to trying some of their other dishes.

The space, the concept, the vibe all work. The bartender was excellent. Very professional, very kind, and clearly doing everything he could to hold the night together. I honestly felt bad for him. He was busting his ass nonstop and never seemed to catch a break. Unfortunately, the kitchen was an absolute disaster. From the start, four or five items on the menu were immediately unavailable. As the night went on, more and more dishes were 86'd. The message coming out of the kitchen was that they simply did not have the ingredients to cook what was on the menu, which is a pretty alarming thing to hear as a guest. Things got even stranger when we learned there was no chef in the kitchen. Instead, the general manager was back there trying to cook. It very clearly was not working. We ordered appetizers and waited about 45 minutes for what I believe was a seafood dip. When it finally arrived, it came out as a thin, runny soup. Not a dip. A soup. On top of that, it was so aggressively spicy it was nearly inedible. It honestly felt like no one back there had ever made the dish before. The food, flat out, gets a zero from me. If I could give it a negative score, I would. That said, the front-of-house staff deserves credit. They were polite, professional, and clearly trying to manage an impossible situation created by the kitchen. I felt for them, because they were the ones having to face guests while everything behind the scenes was falling apart. Again, this is based on a single experience, and I truly hope it was an off night that's been corrected. If not, I don't see how a place like this could survive. The concept is good, the people up front were good, but the kitchen that night was a complete failure. The entire 2 hour + experience was comp'd.

I highly recommend The Three Roses for a delicious , filling reasonably priced meal in downtown Canton.

We used to be regulars, and then we stopped going. The food isn't bad and for Canton the restaurant…read moremenu fits in nicely. So why 3 stars? It's the drink prices. No one in town charges more for a beer than this place. For example, I enjoy local IPAs and Creature Comforts (Athens) is everywhere. I can go to several other stops in town and pay less for a 16 oz can or pour of this beer. Compared to another decent stop down the street, three roses is almost 30% more. My wife says one of the wines she likes is a little less than other stops, so that's good. But other drink prices tend to be on the high side as well, but most in town have higher liquor prices. That adds up if you like to frequent a place. Hence, we stopped frequenting. Overall, I like the decor and as noted, the food is decent. The upstairs is better than the downstairs but I'm glad they have the downstairs for some occasion when they could get busy. As for the Tavern / entertainment element, I've never seen any live music but they have several TVs. Not sure this would be my top choice to watch a game but it would work in a pinch if the other places were too busy or noisy.

With a heavy mound of onions and mushrooms on top, the grits ended up feeling dry and pulled all the moisture out of the bite. The flavor itself was fine, just lacking moisture and balance. We also ordered the scallops and risotto. The risotto was the standout. Bright, fresh finish, great texture, and not overpowering. The scallops, unfortunately, were the opposite. They had a noticeably strong smell right away, which usually means they're not as fresh as they should be, especially at a $40 price point. We took them home, but every time we opened the fridge the smell hit us, so they ultimately went in the trash. Despite this particular experience, we've always enjoyed this place. Service is consistently great, drinks are solid, and we usually leave happy. Hoping this was just an off evening, because we genuinely like coming here. Adding an additional * for the great service and because we haven't had a bad experience otherwise.
