Step inside and you're greeted with a warm, welcoming atmosphere and the kind of friendly faces that make you feel right at home. Then comes the food--fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with care. My husband sticks to the classics (and loves every bite), while I always look forward to whatever creative seasonal dishes Andy and Amber come up with. Fall is my favorite time because I have to get the butternut squash pasta--it's that good. It's always great to see POPS busy, even during the week. We ordered the spaghetti & meatballs, chopped salad & cheesy bread w/marinara the cheesy bread was ready so fast. We sat @ a 2 top. It's so cute in here with a friendly vibe. There's one side that has Italian merchandise & cute kitchen products. Upfront are tables to relax & chat. The cheesy bread app was delicious. Our meals came & looked great. My husband loved his spaghetti & meatballs. The noodles are much thicker & really looked good. My chopped salad was delicious. Chickpeas, salami, veggies with a great dressing with a slight kick made for a perfect meal. They have drinks & coffees too. This space is so beautiful. On my first visit it was decorated for Christmas and I loved it. I'm glad to see more restaurant options in downtown Canton too. The service at the counter was friendly enough. She gave some recommendations and described the specials. The breakfast sandwich I ordered was really tasty! It had plenty of egg and cheese and the bread was fantastic. The house special potatoes were not at all what I was expecting or cared for. They were in a sweet sauce that was so sugary??? We stopped in on our way from Atlanta airport headed to Murphy, NC. I love 'yelping' local places near by and came across Pop's. It's always a gamble to venture off the freeway in a town you don't know but the reviews said it was worth it. We found Pop's on a prominent corner in quaint downtown Canton, GA. It's a beautiful building. Wonder if it's a refurbished Pharmacy or Mercantile from an era gone bye? Service was great. Great suggestions were made. We found out that they don't use a microwave at all and everything is made to order in the kitchen out in the open. It's part of a building that has other upscale and interesting establishments as well as a suite with workspaces. We're glad we stopped in. You should go! read more

Not what I was expecting. POPS Canton is incredibly popular in our area and takes up the best looking corner in the best looking building in downtown Canton GA. The restaurant is huge inside, and if you have never been here before, you might want to get the low down before you get there. This is not table service, and "what to do" is not immediately clear. We walked in and up to what looked like a host stand. There was no line so we didn't see that you walk to your left and order at a counter area. You have to grab your drinks at said counter, order, and sit down. Pick your own table because they don't seat you. The staff are INCREDIBLY nice and friendly, and they made some recommendations. We ordered pasta and a chopped salad to share. When we sat down, there was no silverware. The food came out incredibly quickly so we had to ask for it. We didn't realize that you had to get your own silverware and we didn't see where it was until one of the staff members got it for us. Oh by the way, the drinks....no refills if you order a Coke. Even the water was bottled so if you wanted another one, you had to buy it. (I guess, I don't know for sure). The food was good, especially the salad and the bread. We weren't wild about the pasta. It was just ok. Oh and I asked about a dessert menu and a staff member said "she would go get it". That was odd to me but realized you have to order dessert with the rest of the meal or you have to get back up and potentially stand in line to order it at the counter. We got tiramisu. It was incredibly over sweet. There are plenty of menu items that I am sure are really good! Here's the thing....the staff are wonderful!! So nice and helpful if you look lost like we were. Understand what you are getting BEFORE you go, because, like we were, you might be disappointed and confused. The food will come out super quickly, and the staff will take great care of you. I wouldn't call this a date restaurant. The experience is fast food, and the food, for us didn't live up to our expectations and price point. Getting your meal, "how you get it here" was just odd. It's the same exact experience as McDonald's but with a really friendly staff (but no drink refills) This place COULD be really special if they simply had table service in my humble opinion. This is a cute place in downtown canton. Me and a friend went for lunch. Lots of free parking. The staff is very friendly.. and the owner actually came to talk to us too. He's really personable. My friend ordered one of their salads she loved it. It looked like it was dressed well and well balanced. I ordered one of their fresh pastas that I've never heard of and a side of the spicy coleslaw. The pasta is cooked well. I just felt like it needed more seasoning, but they do give you a good portion size and a small piece of bread with it. We're walking around downtown Canton looking for a "new" restaurant and after looking at several menu's, decided on POPS (Palermo's Original Pasta and Sandwiches). You check out the menu and order at the counter and they bring you your meal. I ordered the Seafood Scampi and my wife ordered the sausage sandwich with peppers and onions with sauce on the side. They brought our food pretty quickly considering they cook it right there, and the dishes were nice and hot! I hate when you get your meal and you can tell it's been sitting somewhere waiting to be picked up and you get it like warm. My wife said her sandwich was delicious, the peppers and onions were cooked perfectly. My scampi was also very good. The spaghetti was a fatter noodle, but very good and made fresh every day on site! The service was excellent. Very attentive to water glasses, asking if we needed anything, asking if everything was ok. Not too much, just enough. It's an open restaurant, but not too noisy, and comfortable. We'll definitely be back. This was a nice find for us in Canton! read more

We stopped in for the first time tonight. It was very surprising. You are greeted at the door by a person handing you a menu and telling you to go to the counter to place your order. You then go to your table, seat yourself and your food is brought out to you fairly quick. The food was very fresh and great tasting. We ordered the eggplant parmigiana and it had eggplant meatballs, different but very good. We also tried the bolognese al aforno, which was like lasagna and very yummy. The meal ended with cheesecake that was so fresh. The owner, I think, stopped by our table and was very friendly. He asked if we liked the cheesecake and we said we were thinking about taking a slice home it was so good. He returned to our table a minute later with a slice and said merry Christmas. read more

POPS is situated in the historic Jones Building and offers a beautiful yet comfortable dining room. The Spicy Shrimp Alla Vodka ($22) immediately caught my eye. I LOVE spicy vodka pastas, especially with seafood, so that was an easy choice for me. It came with gulf shrimp, cherry tomato, spicy vodka sauce, and a small side of bread. The entree was incredible. The pasta had great consistency and the spicy vodka sauce was flavorful. After moving to the Canton area, a year ago, I've seen POPS many times, but never tried it. I wanted something different and good, so decided to give it a try for a quick early dinner. POPS is downtown so there's no parking lot. But there's plenty of free street parking. The restaurant looks like a cute Italian market. It looks like they have items that you can purchase as well. You walk up to the counter to place your order before taking a seat. I had the POPS chopped salad. Delicious! Ordering was quick and easy, and my food was delivered to my table with a smile in just a few minute. Service and food was good. lighting and great atmosphere complete the experience. They do have a few pre-made adult beverages that you can select. I would definitely return to POPS to try some of their other items. read more

My wife and have picked POPS several times on outings to Canton. It is perfectly located, with ample parking to choose from. The interior is well lit without being bright. The decor is comfortable without being shabby; at the same time it's upscale without being snooty. The food is quite good. I lean towards the sandwiches, though regular entrees and salads are also available. Very nice staff are attentive to customer questions and needs. I definitely recommend. read more

As some know I give out 5 stars as if I have to personally pay for them, but this family restaurant definitely deserves it. Fresh pasta made in house, 'nuff said. Once you have it here, you'll miss it when you're anywhere else. The pasta dishes are somehow both traditional and updated at the same time, My go to is the gnocchi, fantastically prepared, with a rotating seasonal menu. Appetizer wise, the Eggplant Parm "meatballs" are fantastic, and for a salad option the Caprese Panzanella Salad is a must. The restaurant is casual, clean and bright, sharing space with a cute grocery store. The service has always been excellent. The restaurant has an order at the counter set up, but because of the friendliness of the owners and staff, you won't find yourself missing a server. I was really looking forward to the chicken parm vodka sandwich, but it ended up being disappointing. The chicken tasted like it had been pre-frozen and reheated, and it wasn't served hot. The sauce seemed added on top rather than fully incorporated, so the sandwich came across as cold and lacking the fresh, cohesive flavor you expect from a chicken parm. Also, calling this a "vodka" sandwich feels misleading the sauce didn't have the richness or depth typically associated with a vodka sauce, and it didn't really come through in the overall flavor. Overall, the temperature and texture were the biggest issues. A cold chicken sandwich was definitely not what I anticipated, especially for something that should be warm, crispy, and comforting. read more

I actually like POPS for the most part, but this what was in an on my arugula pesto with chicken dish. Wilted arugula with a strange off green color and some of the oldest chicken I have ever tasted. And they put a ton of it in the pasta as if they were trying to unload on some poor unsuspecting nut like me. This dish is $24 and I am so disappointed and nauseated. Update: HI Andy! I really do believe your intent is to never serve unsatisfactory food. You guys are some of the sweetest folks and that's the number one reason we keep coming back. A very open restaurant with some high tops, tables and even some soft comfy couch chairs with their own little tables. A small market area with some cool items. Imported olive oil, truffles and candies. Also some neat pasta making tools. The menu I found unique. Hot Italian sandwiches, some delicious main entrees and even some cool looking breakfast sandwiches. ( definitely going back to give the breakfast sandwiches a try) I had the Gnocchi Sardi with red sauce and meatballs. The Gnocchi was tender and tasty with a very complementary red sauce. But no bread for dipping? I loved the meatballs. Excellent flavor and a soft texture. Yum! Thank you for a very good experience.
