I've searched high and low for good pizza and I simply gave up. I kept on hearing try Amici's! Well they were right. Best pizza I've had in a long time. Brings you back to the NJ/NY slice you had a so long ago and never forget. The sauce, slightly sweet and flavorful. No bitterness or canned tomato taste, it's almost like a Sunday gravy. The cheese appears to be a blend, I'd guess Grande cheese. Not too salty and not greasy. The crust is perfect. Not too thick and not too thin. Slight char on the bottom, crispy and doughy with flavor. That's what makes a perfect pizza, the blend of flavors. As for the food. I've tried everything on the menu and ordered a bunch of things for Christmas. I could go on for pages about then food. Let's just say my wife's mother is Italian. Was the best cook! It's the only restaurant that comes close. Trust me she's very picky. Lastly, the folks that work there are nice and friendly. The owner loves what he does. When talking w the owner, he confirmed that their sauce is homemade and they take great pride in it so no wonder. The best stromboli I've ever had. Stopped in to try some pizza today. Ordered a white pizza and it was fantastic. The lady I spoke to was so sweet when I picked up. She familiarized me with the store. They have several go to items ready to cook at home. Fresh pasta, sauces and breads. The pizza crust was exceptional and toppings were abundant. Everything tasted great. We will definitely try some of their pastas next time. Store was clean and had a homey feel to it. I will definitely spread the word. Was very sad to see that their pizza is nothing but dough - very dry, hardly any cheese or sauce; I asked for pepperoni & mushrooms to be added at an extra charge of $7.00. While I don't mind paying extra for extra items , I do want them to be evident. As you can see from the picture hardly any cheese, hardly any pepperoni and hardly any mushrooms. This place is absolutely delicious. The food was amazing, but what really stood out was the team everyone was friendly, welcoming, and clearly takes pride in what they do. They truly go the extra mile to make you feel appreciated. At one point they even noticed my Costco shoes and the whole crew came out to joke about it and say hello. We went here looking for the chain Amicis and were pleasantly surprised that this is a local Mom&Pop which is something I prefer anyways. The friendliness of the staff that you get upon entering this small restaurant is something that let's you know yhat you are going to be treated like family. The food was excellent and the portions were definitely shareable. The Sicilian style pizza was fantastic the dough was light and airy, the toppings fresh, definitely do not pass it up if you like a thick crust pizza. We also had the chicken francese, which is a double chicken cutlet fried to perfection and then put on either rigatoni or spaghetti with a lemon garlic sauce that is creamy, but light. You can really taste the quality of the ingredients. Do not miss out on this place if you are looking for home cooked Italian near the Outlets of Atlanta. read more

The dining area in here is...small. We got here right after the church crowd let out, and there was a very large family that beat us there, so we got stuck in the corner and had to do some acrobatics to maneuver around them, and the had several young children and the acoustics are not favorable to whiny babies (nobody's fault, but something to keep in mind if you decide to visit). I would say their prices are a little high for the calzone toppings ($1.25/each) considering you get a little bit more than an ounce per addition, but the calzones are borderline perfect. Our food arrived within about 15 minutes of ordering, which is impressive considering we had so many people that had ordered before us. The marinara they serve with it is not like your typical pizza joint marinara; this is the real deal. The thickness of the dough lends itself to giving the calzone a gently crispy exterior with pillows goodness of mozzarella & ricotta on the inside, I just wish that the amount of toppings would be proportionate to their price tag. Give me more of them or reduce the charges. My wife got the meatball parmesan sandwich, and let me tell you, from the ciabatta to the sausage to the sauce, it's a very good sandwich...the sausage has that snap and Italian seasoned flavor, the sauce has the zing, the ciabatta is light & crispy in a way that doesn't leave the roof of your mouth all scraped and cut up. I wanted a local place, one that screamed "mom and pop", and this was it. The eatery is neatly tucked away in a strip of services with outside public parking. The interior is simple and clean and many came in for take out. There is the standard varieties of pizza, you can order a whole pie or just a slice. I decided on a Stromboli. You can personalize it, anything you want. If you want more than three ingredients there is a small up charge but these average 10 dollars with tax. I ordered Italian sausage, extra cheese, garlic, mushrooms, and green peppers. It is served on a flat metal plate and parchment paper with a thick knife for cutting and a plastic fork, alongside a cup of marinara sauce for dipping. Take note: this serving is HUGE! Really two servings (three if your more bird like!) For the cost this was a really good deal because it's twice the size of a regular calzone. I took my time because it was so good. I liked the marinara sauce, straight up fresh tomatoes. I thoroughly enjoyed every bite. I also enjoyed the assortment of Italian cream sodas. I chose root beer and although saccharine in taste, there was a nice creaminess to it when it went down. If desserts are your thing there is a great variety of items. I was eyeing the cannoli's for next time. There were other refreshing items like a mini caprese salad. The owner was very nice, the quintessential Italian and loves to strike up a conversation. Yes! Yes! Yes! This place is bomb. So grateful it is less than ten minutes from my house. We went early due to work meetings so there was no one in with us at the beginning but people did begin to pile in as it got closer to 11:30. We ordered the Philly and the Buffalo chicken sub and halved it so we could taste both. OH MY GAWD! The bread on these beauties. The hostess said it is flown in from Jersey. Then they pack them full of fresh meats, cheese and veggies. Both sandwiches were amazing. Couldn't stop eating them. Unfortunately I couldn't eat the whole thing of either. Took them home, bread never got soggy, they were just as delicious heated up. The fries were hot and crispy. Not a limp fry on that plate. While we waited, the hostess (maybe the owner, no idea, either way, very nice gentleman) gave us a taste of their grandma pizza. What the heck is in that dough sir? Amici's Italian Kitchen is only 15 minutes away from my house and I've only just discovered it today. Unlike chain restaurants and large local shops, Amici's is a small mid-priced family Italian eatery you can find in New York, Connecticut, New Jersey neighborhoods. We are fortunate that the owner Carlo brought it to Canton Georgia! The menu is what you'd expect from a bigger restaurant - a great selection of Italian eats. The Creamy Tomato Basil soup is a winner -- delicious, thick, and full flavored. Likewise, the Eggplant Parmesan was soaked with a great sauce and the pasta was al dente --- another winner. For dessert I ate small cannoli's that our server Alison made fresh at the end of our meal! All in all, Amici's is a place worth trying for Italian family cooking. Alison was great.
