Love this place! One of the best Beef Carpaccios around! Manager was super nice and this was our second trip in 2 weeks. Last time he took our group at 8:35 and they closed at 9, there were 14 of us. The magnolia villa team held up great and delivered a great meal before close! Tonight was the beef carpaccio again and the chicken piccata! Again I would highly recommend! My favorite Italian restaurant! We come here at least once a week and have tried almost everything on the menu and are not disappointed yet. My favorite though is the Fetucini Alfredo with grilled chicken. Their Wedge Salad is amazing and everything is so freshly prepared. It's a gem waiting to be discovered in Canton. read more

Nice ambience, but the food was not great particularly the chicken piccata, which is one of my favorites and I've been eating for years but eating it here, I found that it's a sort of red sauce which that is not chicken piccata. When they served it to me I told him that's not chicken piccata and they said yes it is. OK it's their version, but I won't be back for that. read more

They way overbooked reservations for Valentine's day. We got there at 8:05 for our 8:15 reservation. By 8:20 they had not sat any of their 5 or so 8:00 reservations. There were also 7, 8:15 reservations in the lobby. More than half of the tables already sat had not received their food. Management did not show face for the 15 minutes we hung around, instead they made their hostess deal with the upset customers until she broke down. I hope she can find a better job elsewhere. First time dinning at this establishment I have to say we were seated immediately and given menus to view. The selection was wonderful. We also had a drink menu what a great selection of cocktails. The dinner menu had a great selection of appetizers where we ordered four for our party of seven. We loved the calamari or served with ribbon veggies lightly fried. ( wish there was more calamari less veggies). The arugula and goat cheese with flatbread and figs very nice salad. The meat and cheese platter was a nice touch. The special tonight was the veal parm and is was a nice mix of pasta, red sauce and a huge piece of veal. The chicken Marsala was a light ribbon pasta with mushrooms and veggies. The lasagna ( no picture) is made for two if you are adventurous. All in all nice dinner selection with flavor and style. The plating was nice. We would recommend this new Italian location offering you a variety of drinks, appetizers, entries and save room for dessert. Disclaimer: I'm a a native New Yorker who grew up with an Italian mother in an Italian part of town. We had amazing Italian restaurants. First time at Magnolia Villa. Ambiance is very cool and crisp. Service was outstanding. Menu was a nice array of typical Italian options. The Food: presentation of each plate was spectacular. Started with the Eggs in Purgatory appetizer. Quite nice taste and the bread that came with it was quite good. I like an Italian Shakshuka and this measured up pretty well. Entrees: our table had the Fig and Goat Cheese Flat Bread, Chicken Marsala, and Chicken Parmigiana. All tasted pretty good. The flat bread was tasty. The chicken parm was good. The Marsala was okay. Not a lot of Marsala wine sauce. The fettuccini on the plate was in an Alfredo and that took over the dish from the Marsala. The Broccoli Rabe was a nice addition to the plate (I love broccoli rabe) which is an underused Italian green IMO. All in all a great experience. Italian food in the south is always so-so unfortunately for me. I wouldn't call it authentic, but decent. I really like the ambiance of this place and the service was outstanding. read more

There were a lot of issues at this restaurant. The calamari was under-cooked and pretty much ruined my appetite. That said, when the chick parm came out, I was able to keep down a few bites and it was really good. I wasn't able to eat more beyond that. I had them box up the dessert because my stomach at that point felt like there was razor wire running through my intestines. The service was really a big problem. The dessert they boxed up consisted of a small piece of bread pudding and a small scoop of ice cream. Knowing that I was taking it home, you would think they would place the ice cream in a separate container from the bread pudding or maybe ask if I even wanted to the ice cream at all. Instead they threw it into the same box. I was not really aware of this and by the time I realized it, it was too late to actually do anything about it. The service was so slow that we were there for about two and a half hours for dinner. My water glass was empty for roughly the last hour of that marathon. And the kids desserts, which is just a simple scoop of ice cream, never came. We were charged for the ice cream anyway, by the way. I will say, it was fairly busy, so I won't go so far as to say the servers were incompetent. But the management that placed them in a position where they had to serve that many customers with that much staff is perhaps another story. I might expect this from a restaurant where you are spending $15 a person. But this was about $65 a person. Incredibly disappointing. However, I will say that this is the sort of bourgeoisie typical of gentrified neighborhoods and the businesses that open there. So if understand that expectation going in, I think you could really enjoy the restaurant (hence the two star rating rather than a one star). But it is not for me nor do I think I know anyone else who would enjoy it when there are better options in town. I won't be returning. My suggestion is for the owners to sit down and have a serious discussion with their management about ways to enable their servers and kitchen staff to succeed. What a wonderful experience. Magnolia Villa just opened 4 days ago (11/11/21) in The Mill at Etowah. An open floor plan with clean lines and a modern decor. For a restaurant that's only been open 4 days they are putting on their A game! Servers already know, in detail the menu, and how everything is prepared and cooked. The chicken Parmigiana was amazing. Nice crust and crunch on the outside and moist and tender on the inside. Pasta was done perfectly. Had some firmness and not to soft. The sauce/gravy was exceptional. Very flavorful and thick. The appetizer, Beef Tenderloin Carpaccio was out of this word awesome. Thinly sliced with a creamy Parmesan, Arugula and flat bread chips. Everything was delicious and the portions were good. The complimentary bread was one yeast roll per diner that was soft and dense and a hint of sweet and it was served with a ramekin of garlic butter. For an appetizer I had the Shakshuka (previously known as "Eggs in Purgatory"). It had plenty of kick but wasn't too spicy and paired well with the grilled ciabatta. For my entrée I had the Shrimp Carbonara. The noodles had an spätzle like shape and were fresh made. The shrimp were so large they could have been prawns. The prosciutto added just the right flavors as did the fresh peas and perfectly seasoned sauce. Our waitress was ever attentive and kept our soft drinks and tea refilled. And the interior was modern and classy to match the price point of a special occasion restaurant. read more

We've been here 4 times and every dish has been fantastic. Price is reasonable and service fantastic!

Not great. We had to walk out because they couldn't serve our table of 6 within a reasonable amount of time. They had an overpriced, prix fixe menu. Arrived at 6:30, they were out of several options. We were there for a total of an hour plus. Drinks served. Asked for bread after waiting on appetizers to come out. They had no bread. Eventually...Two out of 6 appetizers were delivered to our table, after waiting 40 minutes or so, another 20 minutes passed and no other appetizers in sight. The calamari was cold, had more fried zucchini filler than calamari. It was a disaster. We requested our drink tab and went to another restaurant next door. I really wanted to love this place. Unfortunately I didn't. I have to mention that our server was pleasant, apologetic and respectful. In the end, management truly needs to revisit their processes. read more

The antipasti was really good though the presentation vessel should be reconsidered so the honey doesn't run off onto the table. More cheese would be nice, only 6 little cubes seemed insufficient. But tasty! Caesar salad was not as in previous pics I saw but several large chunks of romaine and very hard to cut through lacking parm. I had the shrimp carbonara which was really very good. He had the rigatoni which was reportedly good. Dessert was the tiramisu- chefs kiss, and the butterscotch thing which was nice but I wouldn't order again, a little small but very rich. No offer of coffee with dessert was a miss. They should consider some espresso + liquor options on the dessert menu. Over all, left very satisfied with the dinner, service and ambiance - spent $200 which was more than expected but did include drinks so that happens. Would recommend 8/10. read more

By far, the BEST Italian restaurant in Canton, Georgia and in my opinion, North Georgia. Using the freshest ingredients and offering an unique menu, this was an amazing gourmet food experience for my family. Everything we ate and drank were absolutely incredible. We started with Paper Plane Cocktails. The arrived quickly and were refreshing. So delicious, we ordered a second round. Our server made several suggestions, was very friendly and gave us exceptional service! I wish I could remember his name. The whole staff was awesome! Our appetizers included the bruschetta, fig and goat cheese flatbread and beef tenderloin carpaccio. The carpaccio melted in my mouth. The beef tenderloin used in the carpaccio dish was tender and full of flavorful. This was my favorite appetizer and alone, I ate most of the plate. The fig and goat cheese flatbread offered a burst of many different flavors, sweet and savory. If you are wanting this flatbread as a meal, the serving size could easily feed two adults. The bruschetta was served on a buttery, crispy, focaccia bread and topped with seasonal tomatoes, fresh basil, drizzled with a balsamic reduction and extra virgin olive oil. The olive oil was as equally buttery and tasted amazing. My family all ordered different entrees: lasagna, chicken a la marsala, and chicken parm. The lasagna was cooked to perfection with the noodles firmly holding the flavorful meat sauce and bubbling cheese on top and throughout. The lasagna tasted like a long-standing family recipe sent down from Grandma. I wanted to go kiss the chef, no joke! It had to have been my favorite and I will be ordering this again. Forget the calories and order the lasagna. You will thank me later. The serving is large enough to share, like most every dish we received. The chicken parm was crispy, seasoned perfectly, topped with a delicious red sauce and served with spaghetti noodles. The chicken a la marsala wine sauce was full of flavor, served on fettuccini noodles with a side of broccolini. The mushrooms in the chicken a la marsala were also cooked to perfection, holding their shape and flavor. We were determined to order dessert when our waiter told us that the owners wanted to pick out two desserts "on the house". That was very kind and we were extremely grateful. Not pictured, because I devoured it before I had an opportunity to take a photo of it, was the butterscotch budino. The butterscotch custard was sweet and luscious. It was absolutely delicious. No Italian meal is complete without cannolis. The sweetened ricotta and chocolate chip filling in the cannolis was creamy and scrumptious. The pastry shell on the outside of the cannolis were delightfully crispy. Magnolia Villa was an incredible Tuscan experience that we can not wait to share with our friends and other family members. The staff was very friendly and gave us prompt service, making us feel as if we were the only customers in a busy restaurant. The price point for this Italian meal was extraordinarily reasonable for the serving sizes and gourmet taste. This place is stunning. Their food is brilliant and their service is superb. We went for a late lunch on Friday and ordered the bruschetta and their anipasta plate, which was a beautifully put together charcuterie spread. The food was so delicious, wonderfully thought out regarding the pairing of flavors, and beautifuly plated. This plate came with blue cheese and prepared mushrooms, which I have to admit that I am not typically a fan of, but since everything else was tasting so great I tried them as well. And I was pleasantly surprised, I truly enjoyed them as well. After that as our meal, which was plenty of good for 2, we decided to get dessert and grabbed their bread pudding. Which was also divine. Sad to have to downgrade my review of this place. My hunch is that they had a solid first several months and invested in their food quality and reputation... but they, like many others, seem to perhaps doing some cost cutting to stay profitable (I've never seen a crowd in this place personally). Dropped by for lunch today. The service was good not great, and it seems like the quality of the food has taken a hit recently. The roles were obviously store bought - I think they might be the same ones from Costco honestly. The carpaccio was so thick you had to cut it with a knife (first time I've ever seen a carpaccio like that), the house salad came without dressing, and the flatbread seemed to be missing some ingredients and be more or less just some cheese and figs on top of a few chips. In all, the food was okay, but not for the $70 price tag (which also included a kids pasta). It'll probably be a while before we go back and try again, but I'm hoping this place can turn things around soon. read more

We have been to Magnolia a few times. Services is ok nothing special. They will not make suggestions or go over favorite dish or special. I quick "hello" and can I get you something to drink. Drinks come...are you ready to order. Crazy that service has dropped but we still tip 22%. Ughhh anyhoo. Lasagna was good. Chicken marsala lacked flavor in the marsala sauce and the fettuccine didn't taste like Alfredo. We did not enjoy that dish we have found that the dishes made with red sauce are significantly better than the other dishes. We would absolutely suggest getting the mussels. They are really good. Ate a couple bites of the marsala server came to check in noticed that I didn't eat the meal at all and kept it moving. I don't complain so we took it home. My husband cooked some sauce at home and we made the best out of that we could. . read more

Probably the worst food I have had in a long time. Had to send back the Calamari because it was uncooked. Was told that the cook said they don't eat it so they are unsure how to cook it. Me and my pup came in today for dinner! The calamari was really good. The only downside was that it was filled with mostly veggies. They offer patio seating which was great because I had my baby puppy with me. She was able to watch the people walk by while I was eating. The lasagna looked great in the Yelp photos. My wife and I are always happy to try Italian restaurants that tout house-made noodles, and this definitely did not disappoint! We made a reservation for a Friday at noon, which turned out to be unnecessary as we were the first ones in. I think this may change over time, though, as this development where the restaurant is located is definitely growing and more people will be willing to head here for lunch. Anyway, we were seated promptly and given sufficient time to look at the menu. They only offered the lunch menu, and we were happy enough with what was on it not to ask about the dinner menu (in case you've seen my previous question about this!). My wife and I agree that a restaurant's menu should never have more than 4 pages altogether, and this was nicely laid out on the front and back of one sheet of starters, soup/salads, pasta, and desserts, along with another sheet of drink options. We both had work after lunch, so we didn't have drinks, but it looked like an accessible menu of beers, cocktails, and wine. We ordered the fig and goat cheese flatbread for an appetizer. The flat bread was more like a sheet of matza, and it was a bit chewier than we had expected, but it was good. My wife doesn't love figs, so she would have liked them to be sliced thinner, but I thought it was well balanced with the goat cheese, arugula salad, and caramelized onions. My wife had the chicken marsala, which came with a great thick-cut linguine, broccoli rabe, onion, and a generous portion of chicken. She let me have a couple of composed bites, and it was phenomenal! I had the spicy risotto with shrimp, all of which was perfect. The risotto was creamy without being heavy, spicy without being painful, and the shrimp were perfectly cooked (they even bring out a bowl for the tails!). For dessert, we both had coffee and one helping of the black cherry bread pudding. It was a good dessert, but too heavy on the chocolate for my wife. I enjoyed the whole thing, though, as I was the one who insisted I get dessert! It was my one meal for the day, so I wasn't going to go small. The only complaint I have is that some of the kitchen staff was a bit too loud goofing off - when the place is empty and has an open kitchen, they need to be more aware that patrons can hear everything they're saying. I would never encourage people not to have fun at work, just to be mindful of the conditions and who can hear what. We can't wait to go back on a date night as soon as possible to try the dinner menu and perhaps a drink or two. I'm really glad to see Canton developing its downtown area into usable space without tearing everything down! With family coming for the holidays, we'll likely go to the Mill on Etowah to walk around and maybe try some other places as well. It's like downtown Woodstock, but with ample parking and this Italian joint wasn't pretentious unlike a certain one in downtown Woodstock *cough*Vingenzo's*cough*. read more

Did a lunch on Sunday. The inside was nice. Spacious. Modern. Comfortable. The lunch menu was very limited. Calamari app was pretty average. This place is fairly new and it was decent. I would try it again. I'll quickly review our dishes. Beef Carpaccio--Very Good! Good portion and great flavor Calamari--they load this up with other items other than calamari. So it's really 10% calamari, but the calamari was good. But it really should be mostly calamari. Caesar salad--Average. Dressing was OK. Portion was good size Bruschetta--This is a good portion and very good Veal Scalloppini--Not very good. Flavor was lacking with all components of this dish. Linguine and Clams--Very lemony but it was decent. Chicken Parm--This was an awesome dish! Great flavor and portion Lasagne--This was also a fantastic dish. Maybe a little more sauce would have been good but a great dish. Butterscotch Desert--This was an awesome desert with great flavor. Cannoli--I asked for no strawberries on this because I've never seen strawberries or caramel on a cannoli. But the filling was way too whipped. The flavor was OK.
