I was in the area for another appointment and I usually like to drive through downtown canton because of downtown restaurants and quaintness. I pulled onto the road where reformation brewery is, proceeded down the road a bit to see what's happening in the mills area. I did recall that Campania opened shop here and head they were doing well which pleases me because I frequent crabapple location often. Great pizza and interesting appetizers. This time I opened for a simple Margherita pizza and a cup of Italian wedding soup. The pizza needs no explanation, it was excellent. The Italian wedding soup had an interesting take on it the carrots were a a lot firmer than I expected making it a soft crunch the meatballs were nice but overall it lacked seasoning. The establishment takes a page from the old mill look with exposed beans on the walls and roofline. The bar stood prominent with a few seats inside, the majority of the seating was on the patio which was large. I dined at Campania in Canton with my husband and sister-in-law back in December. I had been wanting to try their pizza for quite some time, but never had the opportunity while living in the area, so I was excited to finally have this experience during the holidays. This Campania is located at The Mill, a trendy new development in downtown Canton. Parking was plentiful. We walked up the stairs to the main entrance. I didn't notice an elevator or ramp, so it might be worth checking in advance if accessibility is a concern. We were greeted right away and even though we didn't have a reservation, they were able to seat us on the spacious heated patio. We ordered the following: Espresso martini Mediterranea Bolognese Tartufo While the espresso martini was rather unremarkable, the food was fantastic! My sister-in-law and I shared the Mediterranea salad and the tartufo pizza, while my husband opted for the bolognese. The Mediterranea salad featured chopped romaine, cherry tomatoes, chickpeas, roasted red peppers, red onions, feta, and kalamata olives, all tossed in their house-made Mediterranean dressing. The tartufo pizza was topped with fior-di-latte mozzarella, fontina, pancetta, mushrooms, garlic, and finished with rosemary and truffle oil. Both the salad and pizza were exceptional, so much so that my husband couldn't resist sneaking bites! Although I didn't taste his bolognese, he certainly devoured it. I came in while visiting my family. We came at 4:30 on saturday and the restaurant was basically empty. They told us we had to sit at a high top (we had 4 kids, one of which is 2) and we asked if we could get a lower table for the sake of the booster seats and safety and they said no. The front of house really was a bad impression, they were pretty blatantly rude and made us feel unwelcome. I'm not sure if i'm just used to texas hospitality and this is normal for Canton but i hope not. By the time we left all of the lower tables were still empty. Campania is consistently good at the Milton and Alpharetta locations, but the Canton location is not at the same standard. Our main complaint was the salads; we had 4 of them - one for each of us. The salads were not fresh, and the portion sizes were tiny. My wife and I normally split a salad at the other locations and it's plenty, not at this location. Been here at the Canton location 3-4 times now and have waited to review until I've had a little of everything on the menu. Starters, the place inside is pretty cool and has a good vibe. It's a little small inside but the outside area is heated which opens it up quite a bit. Bar seats around 10 which is our preference when we go out. Good cocktails and craft beer on tap. Been serving Ghost in the Machine since they've opened which is a really nice offering for the IPA crowd. Now the food: pizza is quite good. Neapolitan style pizza. I've had a few as has my wife and by all means everyone of them have been really tasty. Pizza is definitely their strength. The pastas are just okay. Often overcooked pasta and sauces haven't been stellar. The bolognese was not great. The Boscaiola was okay. I did however try the Salmone Fantasia which was fabulous. Highly recommend this dish. Overall pretty darn good. Cool vibe, good drinks, good pizza and Salmon dishes. If they could get their pastas up to snuff this would be a 5 star establishment! read more

I really enjoy the Campania in Milton Ga, so when I heard they opened one in Canton I just had to hurry over and give them a try. A bit of a strange layout, with a long and narrow seating arrangement but seamed to work for the servers. Speaking of the servers, they all were very up beat, with smiles and great attention to details. Campania still has some excellent pizza coming out of their famous brick oven and their panini's are delicious. Tasty bread stuffed with with all the good stuff. And you can always count on a delicious fresh salad. I was very disappointed in their Italian Wedding soup. It was lacking in just about everything. Very strange considering everything else was very good. I didn't say anything because I'm going to give it another try. It could have just been a bad batch. We'll see. Their outdoor patio is very nice with has lots of room and it's covered with big fans. Tip: Lots of stairs and I didn't see an elevator. read more

I've been to their Milton location and this delivered to my expectations. It was a soft opening and the pizzas had a tad more char than I liked, but otherwise excellent. And this is now at the top of my wife's local pizza options. She had the Tartufo and I was close to having food envy, but thankfully we were sharing. I had the Salumi Misti as that'd been my favorite at the Milton location and a great comparison for the review. Both were fresh and delicious. The service was good and refills were prompt. And I absolutely loved the can-shaped glass with their logo. We requested plates but never received them, but managed nevertheless less. The interior is a decent size with the kitchen and pizza oven on display to the right as you enter. The dining room runs the length on the left hand side with a bar taking up a third about the midpoint. A massive covered patio (probably larger than the indoor seating) is available. There is a small up-charge for non-cash payments. By the time we left on a Friday evening the place was fairly packed but the noise levels didn't seem to be an issue. read more

Tables are close together and you are on each other's back. Entrance is a tight fit in and out. Server was present but didn't really walk us through the menu seeing that this is a new restaurant. No suggestions. Table maintenance can use some improvement. We ordered the meatballs for us it had too much bread as the filler. It's just our preference to have just panko and mostly meat. We would be happy with a smaller meatball without all the filler. Pizza the top of the pizza could have used some more ingredients but overall the taste was good. The cheese blend is the best I've had in years. The pizza had too much char on the bottom and was not a golden brown like we prefer. Went to celebrate SIL birthday. We went in for lunch. My daughter had a chicken dish and the rest of us got pizzas. Our waitress Gwyn, was so special. I went with friends and family during the soft open when they were only serving pizzas. We got 5 pizzas for the table and a round of beers. I tried the Tartufo and Saliccia pizzas. Both were really good artisan style pizzas that were cooked in a wood fire oven that was right in plain view. The pizzas came out fast after we ordered them too. The Tartufo is reminiscent of Mellow Mushroom's Holy Shitake pizza with its white sauce, mushrooms, and truffle oil. I'll have to go back to try more of their other pizzas, but the Tartufo is going to be a hard one to beat. The only reason they don't get the full 5 stars is because when our stack of plates was brought out to us to put our pizza on, the plate on top was clean, however the 7 below it were not.. a quick fix by getting some new plates. Not a big deal. And I know it's hard to get staff adjusted when opening a new restaurant, but come on.. don't bring out plates with sauce and other peoples' food bits on them. read more

Just had lunch for the first time at Campania the Canton location. I read the mixed reviews and was not sure what to expect. We ordered a bowel of minesto soup. Very disappointed. The bowel was more the size of a cup. It had very few ingredients. The few meatballs were the size of marbles. The Margherita Pizza was no better. The crust was mushy in the center. The sauce was acidic and runny. The cheese was not noticable. Our 2 bowels of soup, one pizza, and 2 diet cokes came to $53 including the trip. We left the restaurant hungry. I don't write many reviews but I couldn't help but appreciate the restaurant experience this past Saturday night. I came in after not eating anything all day. My wife and I ordered our own pizzas and an app of fried ravioli. The fried ravioli was absolutely amazing. The wood fire pizza was even better. I don't know if it was the look on my face but because I hadn't eaten all day 4 different people came and told me they were checking on my pizza. Amazing service. Then they offered a free app for taking awhile even though they didn't take a long time making the pizza at all! I will be coming back and have told friends and family about this place.
