My family tried the newly opened Tumi Peruvian Restaurant in downtown Canton last night (190 E Main Street in downtown Canton) "incredible" doesn't even begin to cover it. The service was warm and attentive. The space itself is stunning. It's beautifully designed with a cozy, intimate vibe that somehow manages to feel both upscale and family friendly. The food was a complete WOW! Every single dish was a hit. We ordered a ridiculous amount because everything sounded too good to pass up, and there wasn't a single mediocre bite on the table. Every plate was flavorful, fresh, and beautifully prepared. I left uncomfortably full and still wishing I could've tried more. The sangria is sweet with just the right hint of spice. The Pisco cocktails are light, tangy, and incredibly refreshing. Beer lovers, try the Pilsen. Their margaritas are excellent too. For food we had the following: Cancha Teqeunos con Queso en Salsa Conchas à la parmasana The Killer Leche de Tigre Ceviche de Pescado Camarón Saltada Tallarin Saltado de Pollo Torta Tres Leches Picarones Limeños Alfajores They are working on their website but for now, here is the menu: https://www.clover.com/online-ordering/tumi-peruvian-rest-canton?employee_id=WX3JYW4M0EFBY&order_type=dine_in&table_id=DDWZJ1G8D27R0

The food is excellent! I highly recommend this place. The food is perfectly cooked and seasoned. The staff is very friendly and attentive. The only thing I was not crazy about is that you have to scan a QR code in order to view the menu. I would much have rather preferred having paper menus.

Drinks, ceviche, main dishes, and dessert. Was all fantastic! Tried this place for the first time today... it reminds me of my cuñada's (sister-in-law) cooking, and she's from Peru. Get ready to leave completely stuffed bc you're not going to want to stop. Haha

Potato appetizer

Came here with some friends for dinner and was pleasantly surprised. Aji de gallina and ceviche were excellent, and the pisco sours were outstanding!!!

Fried yucca with three dipping sauces.

We tried the new Peruvian restaurant Downtown Canton today (Tumi) and really enjoyed it! The three of us ordered several appetizers, a main course, and a dessert to share. I would highly recommend doing that the first time you go, because the food is really different and really delicious. Oddly enough, those wings were the best wings I've had in a LONG time. We got a mixture of sauces on them. That white sauce was magnificent. The potato dishes are served cold, which surprised me. But, don't be afraid of them because they were delicious. Almost like a kicked up potato salad feel.

Ceviche

Yesterday we tried this new restaurant in the heart of Canton Georgia, and we had an absolutely wonderful experience. From the moment you walk in, the warm atmosphere and friendly staff make you feel right at home. The lighting was just right, and the decor is beautiful. I ordered the Conchas a la Parmesana, which are Scallops baked with Parmesan, and it was amazing and flavorful. The Ceviche had the perfect amount of lime and fresh fish for a wonderful balance. The chef is Peruvian, trained in Peru, so I guess that might have something to do with how authentic the food tastes. For my drink from the bar I ordered Pisco Sour, wow, that tasted like I was in Peru, delicious! And finally for dessert I had Alfajores y Picarones, both were insanely delicious. I cannot wait to come back and try their other dishes!

I confess to think about the Yuka Frita's from here far too often. The three dipping sauces with come with them are super good. Casa De Cameron is a cold appetizer that's so good I eat it as a meal. Cameron Saltado, or any Saltado on the menu would be delicious. The 'stir fry sauce' is unbelievably good. Apparently you can buy a bottle of it to go too. Please come and try this restaurant for yourself. There are many many meat options which we didn't try but I am certain they would be just as good as the seafood dishes we order.

The speed was super quick from sitting down to leaving so if that's what you're after then this could be a great option for you, for us however, we just felt rushed. From sitting down to signing the check it was 40 minutes and that's with an appetizer included. Unfortunately the food just wasn't what we were looking for. While I did provide a unique taste, neither of us really enjoyed our food and left wanting something different. We both had different versions of the saltado and shared the plantains. The saltado was ok and the plantains seemed a little undercooked. All in all, I think if you're after Peruvian flavors and have a dish in mind then the Freakin Incan could be a great stop for you, but it just seemed to miss the mark for us.

The restaurant offers parking validations if you park in the parking deck behind the restaurant in the same building. Upon entry we were kindly greeted by the hostess and the staff was very accommodating for our large party while stating how we can best make serving a party of our seamless which I appreciated. The service was great from start to finish. To start I ordered the salmon chips to share with my husband. I was nervous as I've only had salmon chips at another local restaurant but Tio Lucho's version was very good. The chips were very balanced in ratio of salmon to chip with the chip being on the thinner side to highlight the salmon. Our waitress shared that the restaurant is a fusion of Peruvian and South Georgia style food. They highlight their seafood as their speciality and from the words of others at the table who ordered oysters, ceviche and cuts of fish they do that very well. For my entree I had the Lomo Saltado with a side of red beans and rice. The steak in the Lomo Saltado was extremely tender and the overall dish was rich in flavor. I wish there was more steak because of how good it was. Once dinner hours ended the restaurant turned into a dance floor with a DJ which we also enjoyed for a bit. I'll definitely will be back to explore more on the menu.

We didn't really need it since the restaurant was pretty empty, but we were a bigger group and didn't want to risk it. The hostess didn't confirm our reservation until about 10 mins prior, which was quite concerning, but everything worked out at the end anyway. Our server was wonderful! It was our first time here and he explained their background and what his favorites were on the menu. We for sure wanted to try the paella, so went ahead and ordered that first, with the carretillero ceviche, mixed empanadas (chicken and beef) and patatas bravos to start. The ceviche was delicious and fresh. Loved the fried calamari and all the toppings it was served with. The empanadas were also delicious and was served with a very spicy sauce! The patatas braves had a nice, smoky flavor. Now for entree, I ordered the veggie chaufa. Our server may have been a little biased as he preferred the Peruvian side of the menu, more so than the Cuban side. My dish was easily good for 2-3 people. It had tons of veggies and scrambled egg, plus served with a side of fried plantains. Our group ordered a bunch of other dishes and tried some of them. The churrasco steak was a little chewy but loved the chimichurri it was served with. The parrillada de mariscos was so good too, and my personal fave was the grilled octopus! Personally, I would opt for this instead of the valenciana paella. You essentially get the same types of seafood. I love that we got to dine at this hidden gem! We truly enjoyed our experience and will be back for sure.
