We came by while in town to shop local and found this quaint authentic Mexican restaurant. It is tucked into a strip mall where an ingles is located with ample parking. Clean, small place but big on flavor and customer service. We were immediately welcomed upon arrival and asked where we wanted to be seated as we were the only customers at this early hour. We chose a partial booth and chairs which was ideal for our party of 5. We quickly ordered waters, cokes, and a few Coronas. Our orders were taken quickly and our food came out hot and fresh! We ordered cheese dip and an app that I cannot remember the name of but was absolutely delicious. We ordered kids chicken nuggets, kids taco, grilled veggie quesadilla, and two other meals that their names escape me but all was delicious. We highly recommend a stop here for a delicious meal anytime they are open. We will be back! read more

I was warmly greeted and the waiter was also friendly and attentive. Complimentary chips and salsa were served and the chips had crunch and the salsa was tasty with nice veggie chunks. I tried the Carnitas and the pork was tender and flavorful and served on a heated plate. The accompaniments of refried beans, rice, pico, and flour tortillas were nice. As was the side of guacamole that I ordered in addition to my entrée. The small interior is comfortable and welcoming, although the TV was a bit of a distraction. The woman I love and I decided to try something that wasn't on our "usuals" radar. Tecali Grille did not disappoint. Tucked away in a strip-shopping center, it might be easy to ignore this family-owned establishment. But for "tex-mex" you won't be disappointed. I might even be liking this place more than our "usual" Mexican dining destination. On our first visit, I ordered the Bistec Cebollas. This was delicious--with hot, hand-made tortillas, this steak and onions combination was a savory treat. Easily a step or two above "regular tex-mex." I had the Pollo con Queso on our second visit. (Basically the innards of a chicken quesadilla on a bed of rice with some pico de gallo on the side.) Again, this totally made me a very happy man. Service has also been very fast and friendly. At the "other favorite restaurant," the manager / owner doesn't wave goodbye to you on departure. She does, here. I was expecting a run-of-the-mill tex-mex affair. I found much more than that. This truly is my favorite Tex-mex place to eat at in canton Georgia, we eat here at least every two weeks, the owner Sebastian comes our and greats the customers and treats you like family. Due to needing a quick meal while on the north side of town, Tecali was our only option due to not wanting drive through. It's your typical Mexican restaurant atmosphere. Booths, tables, the norm. Our server quickly arrived with chips & salsa in hand. She took our drink order and scurried away. Ok, I'm a chips & salsa girl, which is why I'm only giving them 3 stars. The salsa was good but the chips were not my fav. I like them thin and super crispy. These lacked both. I order the carne asada which is my go to at a Mexican joint. It was good, not great. All in all the meal was ok. I wouldn't ditch if friends wanted to go back, but don't think I would go out of my way to go back. read more

A typical hole in the wall type of establishment, which has usually been good to me as far as Mexican cuisine is concerned. Unfortunately, I was completely underwhelmed by my food and the Tecali's ambiance. When we walked in, the place was a ghost town, which was surprising considering it was a Sunday during football season. This should have served as a warning sign to my wife and I. When our server finally did come out from behind the bar, she sat us down and promptly returned with chips and salsa. This was actually pretty good tasting salsa, sadly, that was the end of the highlights for us. When our entree's came out they were hot; however, heat can't make up for dull and lifeless food. The fajitas and taco's that were ordered were over cooked and under seasoned. Our food was drowning in cheese and grease. We tried, but after a few minutes, we simply paid our bill and left. Skip this place and hit Taco Bell, at least at Taco Bell its cheaper. read more

I had an excellent lunch there yesterday with great service! The food was delicious and the servers were friendly and attentive.

I had a soup which was fairly good, which go this place its second star, but the burrito was not so good. I have had better beef at a taco bell drive-through. Wife ordered a cheese dip with Chorizo.......took a wile to come out because, as the waiter informed us "they had to thaw the cheese and chorizo because it was still frozen." Overall, won't be going back here. Will be eating at the more authentic taqueria's around town instead. read more

I hate to write bad reviews of local restaurants. Especially ones I remember being so good! On the positive side, our service was great, from start to finish! Everyone was very friendly, which is why it pains me to say this is the Absolute worst food, Mexican or otherwise I have had out anywhere! There were three of us for lunch, we all had something different, me the Salad, others, had tacos and burritos. This is ABSOLUTELY the BEST MEXICAN restaurant in the Canton Woodstock area. We found it when we were in Canton today. BEATRICE was our server. She welcomed us when we came in. The menu is extensive. Many choices. The salsa was the best we have ever had. We actually bought some to take home. My husband had an awesome burrito and I had a taco enchilada. I've never seen that on a Mexican menu. We would definitely suggest you try this restaurant. We live in Woodstock and will definitely make the trip back. The other thing we noticed is they have alot of loyal customers. This is Mexican the way it should be, the way it tasted when I was actually in Mexico. The restaurant is family run, and many of the Canton locals know how good it is and come in on a regular basis. We eat here almost every week, as do many people in the know here in Canton, almost always for lunch. We try to go early to beat the lunch rush and get one of the more choice booths. The salsa is really excellent, sometimes I actually have cravings for it. It is really fresh with a lot of cilantro and is a big chunk style rather than the blender paste style that some places have. My Dad and I always have the lunch fajitas. My wife has the fajita quesadilla with queso. She was never a big fan of Mexican until Tecali won her over and is secretly jealous of the 'business lunches' I have with my Dad. read more

The 4 of us stopped in on Father's Day to have a few tacos and a pitcher of Texas margaritas and the food was okay, nothing special, but the so called Texas margaritas was pure water. I told the owner Isabella the $20 pitcher was very weak and was told "Okay." Really!!! no customer service. We paid for the water and next time I will go to 7 Tequila grill just up the road.
