Another beautiful day in Ball Ground and people were on the streets painting gorgeous pictures. Many families with children also enjoying the comfort of The Burger Bus. The servers were very polite and welcoming upon arrival and checked on us about every 5-7 minutes. Great place for a delicious burger. We had great service and the weather was very pleasant. My husband ordered the burger with wasabi mayonnaise, oh my goodness--I can't even remember what else was on his because I was enjoying mine so much. I had the Cali burger but I substituted the pepper jack cheese for plain cheddar. It was fun watching this small town life with young and elderly alike walking around. read more

Ball Ground Burgers is bussin'! Worth every penny. I lucked out with a parking spot right in front of the place--which felt like a sign. I knew I'd be in downtown Ball Ground and came across this spot on Yelp. I didn't even stop to read the reviews--just saw solid ratings and gave it a shot. So imagine my surprise when I found out the "restaurant" is actually a converted old-school bus parked on the railroad tracks. Super cool. The bus itself feels like a piece of history, but the energy inside is modern and welcoming. The staff were upbeat, the vibe was lively, and the tight, elbow-to-elbow seating made it feel like a community table experience. Between me and my fiancée, we ordered a large portion of onion rings and sweet potato fries--and probably should've gone with the regular size, but they were so fresh and hot we couldn't stop eating. Now let's talk burgers. I ordered their Kali Burger, which from my understanding was a limited-time specialty burger--they rotate them out occasionally. If you see it on the menu, get it. It was flavorful, well-balanced, and worth the calories. My fiancée had the Angry Swiss and added a fried green tomato. It also came with fried mushrooms, which surprised me that she enjoyed--but she ate every bite (minus the one I got to try, of course). Honestly, the burgers alone are worth the trip. The sides were just a bonus. Everything was cooked perfectly, and we didn't wait long at all for our food. Heads up: you pay at the end, and the only con is the small, tight front area. You've got people ordering, paying, waiting for seats--all in the same narrow spot. It can feel a little crowded, but it's part of the charm. One of the servers even offered to turn off the A/C unit beside me in the bus--really thoughtful service. And before you leave--look around the bus. It's easy to miss how much character and history this place holds if you don't take a moment to soak it all in. If I'm ever back in Ball Ground, I'm definitely eating here again. With tip I think I spent about $45...worth it! read more

Ball Ground burger bus was an excellent choice if you're in the area. Not only is the restaurant connected to a bus where you can sit down and eat inside, but their menu selection is extensive and has something for everyone. Service was great, and the 1386 burger and fries I got were great! Side note: I added jalapeños to my burger... they were not pickled, they were straight up jalapeno slices, I was not prepared lol. I was able to take them off, but I just wanted to note that if you do ask for jalapeños they're raw and not cooked or pickled in any way. Also, my fries were phenomenal, and my friend got the onions rings and practically inhaled them, I will definitely try those next time. Second time here - very good burger, okay fries. I had the Fried Green Tomato and Pimento Cheese Burger. Fries were frozen (as were the Onion Rings per the Waiter). Everything came out hot and fresh. Sit in the Bus if possible, wait if you have to. read more

Love the location of this place, despite the long drive. It's quaint, a little weird, and eclectic. This is the second time I've had a burger in a bus so going here came with a bit of nostalgia for Alaska. Pretty stand-up crew running this place. Very friendly, very attentive, and the food was out quickly. You walk into what appears to be a building and end up sitting in the interior of a bus. As you might expect, the seating is extremely limited. There's outdoor dining, but of course, you'll want to make sure it's nice out. :-) The burgers are good. I got the 1386 to have as simple a burger as possible. It was good but not exceptional. The onion rings are on point, too. What really stood out for me though was the chili! It's all beef so not exactly my favorite style, but it was really tasty. I think the chili over tots would have been outstanding. Gotta do that next time. read more

The dining room is enough reason to give the place a try on its own. Perfect in every way! Stopped by this little jewel on our way to the North Georgia Mountains quite by accident. It was Wednesday in November around lunch and after a short wait we were seated in the infamous bus for a very pleasant experience. I had the Dads on Death Row burger and it was excellent. The thought of fried grits on a burger wide give pause but it added the perfect crispy crunch to the burger. Mingled with the over easy egg... just perfect. First things first, I'm a burger lover. Don't misunderstand, I'm not necessarily a burger snob (I'll thrown down a double cheese Krystal, no mustard, no pickle) but I would much rather have an awesome gourmet burger. I had actually seen BGBB on an influencer's IG awhile back as she lives nearby and I'll make a mental note of any place with "burger" in the name. So when I saw it mentioned online again recently, I asked my husband if he'd ever been and when he said no - it was on! We took his daughter for lunch on a gorgeous Sunday, so even though there was no seating on the bus, we were perfectly happy sitting at a table outside. I got the Fried Green Jacket, husband got something the cashier recommended and my stepdaughter got chicken fingers & fries... Teenagers, amirite?! We also got an order of onion rings to share. The wait time was a little long, I suppose, but it was pretty busy and I guess it's better to know it's being made fresh. We just quietly played some music at our table and people-watched. My burger was fan-flipping-tastic. Every ingredient played so well together, you just can't miss with a FGT and pimento cheese. My husband's burger had fresh jalapeños on it, so I was reluctant to have a bite, but it was delicious and not overly spicy. The onion rings were perfect and we loved the dipping sauce. My stepdaughter isn't particularly descriptive about food, and they were just tendies & fries, but she inhaled them - so that's positive! My 4yo son and I drove here from Holly Springs one early afternoon for dinner while my wife and daughter were out of town, and we'll definitely be taking the ladies when we go again! The bus is the dining room, and it was actually more spacious than I had imagined, but I've heard it fills up fairly quickly. They also have picnic tables outside, and another park with tables is in easy walking distance. They acknowledge their common waiting line with discounted adult beverages, so that was a nice example of how welcoming the staff here are! Our waitress gave great recommendations and checked on us regularly without hovering, and I'm glad she told me the maple syrup made my breakfast burger, because had I left it off it wouldn't have been as good! My son passed on hotdogs to eat a plain burger, which was surprising, but he says he wants to go back "one a hundred times a day," so I think he's a fan. It was empty by the time we finished, so while I was paying the bill and chatting with the staff, he had the run of the bus to play and "drive"! They were experiencing some difficulty with their card point of sale system, for which they apologized profusely. I was on a casual afternoon, so it didn't bother me at all, and they went above and beyond in making it right for our wait. Next time, I'll probably take some cash just in case it happens again when I'm pressed for time, but there will definitely be a next time! After spending the morning walking Gibbs Gardens we worked up an appetite for burgers. Ball Ground Burger Bus did not disappoint. First, the whole converted-bus-to-a-restaurant theme worked. It was a fun, casual atmosphere. The employees were pleasant, nice to speak with and very service oriented. We both had burgers and they were both very good. The "Lone Star" burger in particular I really liked. Tortilla chips and salsa on top of the patty and between the buns was a fun, creative touch. The fresh jalapenos gave it just the right kick.
