The dining room had 3 or 4 tables with patrons and most of the other customers were to-go orders. My table was clean and I was served quickly and my order was correct. The ingredients appeared to all be fresh and the lettuce in the salad were nicely sized (no giant pieces that had to be cut down to edible size). The ranch dressing was decent and the flavors were good. The chicken chunks were crispy and had a great flavor as was the crispy bacon. The serving was good and filling.

Tomatos diced or sliced, relish mustard, different peppers and just about anything else you can put on your hotdog. Lol. And I've never seen it messy like other places. Always neat, well stocked and clean. Buns are the soft top-sliced kind. Great for loading up lots of toppings. And the fries are always fresh and hot! They have plenty of dry spices to sprinkle on your fries and or your hotdogs and burgers. Always friendly service and works wiping down tables and cleaning up. Today, I ignored that advice and regretted it. A friend and I decided to try Big Easy BBQ for lunch instead of visiting one of our usual favorites. After reading positive reviews, we drove more than 30 minutes to see what the hype was about. The first warning sign was the nearly empty dining room at lunchtime. The second was the complete lack of that unmistakable BBQ aroma. Despite both red flags, we stayed. My friend ordered the St. Louis ribs with sides, and I ordered the half chicken with two sides. When I noticed he had barely touched his ribs, he handed me a piece to try. The meat was tough, dry, and tasted as though it had been cooked well in advance and reheated. Unfortunately, my chicken was no better. It also seemed old and reheated rather than freshly prepared. For sides, I chose dirty rice and Cajun BBQ beans. Neither tasted particularly fresh. The dirty rice was acceptable at first but quickly lost its appeal, while the beans were merely average. Having lived in New Orleans for five years, I know what good Cajun and BBQ-inspired food should taste like. This wasn't it. The highlights of the meal were my iced tea and my friend's French fries. Service was equally disappointing. The server checked on us only in passing and showed little interest in our experience. When we requested takeout boxes for the food we barely ate, there was no inquiry about why our meals were largely untouched. We both took our leftovers home, though neither of us was enthusiastic about them. The lesson here is simple: online reviews should never outweigh what your eyes, nose, and instincts are telling you. A busy dining room, the smell of smoke, and trusted recommendations are often better indicators than a collection of glowing ratings. As a final note, my friend and I normally pay separately, but I felt responsible for suggesting this restaurant and paid for both meals. If paying for two disappointing lunches taught me anything, it's this: save your time and money, and eat somewhere else.
