The good is great. The staff are personable. It's a great little place to get a great burger & fries or steak sandwich, or a footlong hot dog loaded...chili, slaw, onions & mustard. The only negative thing is they are closed on the weekend. read more

First off to consider the food I had two of the speed burgers and a hotdog and neither had any taste might've been having water on a stick. The onion rings the batter was not at all crisp It was a soft batter, even though I know it was cooked. The service was great. The employees were extremely friendly. A Jasper institution great food especially the speed burgers and cole slaw. They need to be open Wednesday and Saturdays.

Do you want a real homemade cheeseburger that just smacks you mouth with taste, then this is the place to go. Yeah, it is just a drive-thru, but let me tell you their hamburgers are some of the bests I've ever had. French fries are homemade too and piping hot and weak on salt, but that's OK with me. All was real and honest in flavor and very tasty food. None of those other burger places burgers that are machine made can compare to this place's food. The health score is in the nineties to boot. Service is awful there more worried about closing the dining room than they are serving food which has went down hill along with there cheap service and it's more important for them to work maybe 3 or 4 short days than care for the people who have put them where they are today which shows the mgt and employees don't care one bit .. Speed Burger...there was no long lines so it felt like Slow Burger. I think this place has been here since about the time I was born, but this was my first visit and possibly my only visit. The onion rings were hot, had a fluffy funnel cake type batter, but no seasoning that I could taste, very bland. OK now let's talk about the burger. The meat patty had no flavor at all, very thin. A little seasoning would have made it better. It came loaded with lettuce tomato onion mustard ketchup and some kind of cheese. I saw cheese, but failed to taste cheese. The cheese was there but it wasn't. The ice tea was ok. Unless I was starving and happened to be driving by, I'd probably not stop again. Came here on a recommendation and was not super impressed. Ordered philly steak and green beans. I did like the green beans. Meat was just ok to me. Husband ordered cheeseburger. Meat is super thin like a Krystal burger. We prefer a large juice patty so was disappointed. Not sure if we will be back. Staff seemed confused on ordering but were really nice. It was a trip down memory lane! Back to the days of a really good chili slaw dog that wasn't "all beef, no nitrates, uncured" and all that stuff that took the flavor out of a dog! I had the big double cheese burger. The burgers were bland and seemed to be frozen pre-made patties. I decided I would get a signature speed burger to see if it was much different. It wasn't. My brother ordered a chili cheese dog without slaw. He said the hotdog was bland and so was the chili. I'd be curious to know how much if any items are made in house. read more

The SpeedBurger is a Jasper institution. I have been eating there for 15 years and I still love it to this day. The food and service are consistently good, while the prices remain low. If you are in the Jasper area and looking for a decent meal at a low price, you can't go wrong with some speedburgers, fries and a big sweet tea. read more
