First let's talk about the good. The workers and servers were really nice and willing to help with anything. That was great. Sad that the food and prices can't support there good work. I was so happy that I found a place for a Prime Rib!! I drive a little while to get there. All I got was the Prime Rib and the side of choice. My jaws got tired of chewing and had to spit out 3 bites due to the bristle in the meat I could never break it down, and you know good prime rib usually melts in your mouth not the case here I just chewed and chewed and chewed. I had 1 drink and that was it. 66.00 dollars and I agree with the other review then on top of that they charged a fee if you use a card. But anyway I would not go there just for the Prime Rib. Not that good, and way over price!! I may stop by again and see if the fish is any better. Maybe they can redeem there selves if the fish turns out to be ok. What a cool find. After and afternoon of touring a few wineries in the North Georgia , Jasper area, our group was in the mood for some seafood. So Yelp to the rescue. We headed over to The Last Catch - Seafood Restaurant. Pretty much right in the middle of downtown Jasper GA this establishment is very casual with cool nautical motif. It has a nice selection of various entrées. From fried, grilled and blackened shrimp, flounder and quite a few others. Our server was awesome. Always there filling the water glasses and attending to ever need. And absolutely fell in love with the pups. Lol. We dined out on the patio , which is mostly covered and so the pups could stay with us. So nice that it was pet friendly. Some of this entrées that we ordered were the, Seafood Platter, Crab cakes, Fried Shrimp Platter, and Grilled Shrimp Platter to name a few! All were deliciously amazing! But no room for dessert. We also got mains--mahi mahi tacos and a grilled shrimp platter. I think the tacos were a bit of a let down (likely not the best order), but my shrimp were fine. I wasn't a huge fan of their fries, but that is likely a personal preference. We went when it wasn't swamped, which was likely a good thing. On the positive side was the complimentary fish dip. Smooth pate style fish mixed with a hint of horseradish sauce. We started with the she crab soup which was outstanding. It was creamy and every spoonful was loaded with crab. We ordered the platter for dinner. It was ok. For $26 we were served two small fish filets, five amazing fried oysters, two perfectly grilled scallops, four so-so shrimp, one basic crab cake, and two overdone hush puppies. Thought it was about time to try this restaurant last week and I was not disappointed. Met some family there since it was everyone's first time we tried a wide array of items. My wife and I both got the seafood comnination platter with fish, shrimp, scallops, oysters, stuffed crab, hushpuppies, fries, and coleslaw. Food was fresh and serving size moderate for the price. Slaw was creamy style and quite good. The we enjoyed our meals, our favorite part were the seasoned fries, cooked and seasoned to perfection. Wish there were more to help fill the plate better. BEWARE, our check was accurate. However, when it was returned with our credit card slip, a $1.44 processing fee (penalty) was added for paying by credit card rather than cash. Stopped by on a whim based on being in the area and yelp reviews. Picked up 2 entrees for togo-one being a fried seafood combo and the other being a fried shrimp plate; also, got the she crab soup and clam chowder. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food. Both entrees had decent portions and included large shrimps, scallops, fish-all were tasty. I like the fact even though they were fried entrees, the food did not seem greasy or oily which can sometimes happen when you get fried food and the restaurants either don't blot the food after frying, or they don't have the heat high enough and the oil just gets soaked up by the breading. The she crab soup and clam chowder were both great, albeit the clam chowder was a little on the salty side. Spoke with the owner and found out the son does the cooking and went to culinary school! What can I say about The Last Catch? The shecrab soup was great. The shrimp was decent, liked that it wasn't overcooked but it lacked any seasoning. The catfish was beyond bland. I really expected more from the catfish because the breading looked very promising. The coleslaw was warm and you guessed it bland (yuck), the baked potato was hot and fresh (Yay). The complimentary crab dip was strange and nasty. Unfortunately it wasn't worth the stop. Sorry more like the last resort. The waitress was nice and polite. The bathroom was clean and the restaurant was very clean. I guess if your gonna stop by go to IGA or Walmart first and pick up some seasonings for your meal. read more

This restaurant apparently has no idea what real seafood is. I understand thatI they are not a coastal Community so they don't truly have fresh seafood it's frozen and mushy. I will say that the service was excellent. Our waitress couldn't have been more attentive. The inside of the building was nothing special and they had no control over the Fly population which was disgusting.
