What an enjoyable lunch! I've past by Deb's bakery for years, and always thought I needed to see what they had. Well yesterday I needed a donut for a client, so I stopped and bought him an apple fritter. Lord have mercy that thing looked good. I'd also tell you about a brownie I bought for myself, but then my wife would know and that can't happen, so just imagine the delectable treat I "could" have had, had I chosen to go against my wife's wishes. I returned today for a quick lunch, because yes they serve sandwiches for lunch. I had a ham, cheese, bacon, lettuce on toasted honey bread! Excellent and filling! The tater salad was just like I liked it. This has been such an enjoyable lunch. Much better than the McDonalds I was planning on getting in the drive thru. I will make this a regular stop and you should as well. Hmmm. There was a pickle hiding in there. I love pickles. Now, I'm trying to decide if I am going to actually pass all those treats in the front counter. The only question is, will my wife find out? read more

Deb's has a good variety of treats. I've tried several items from here including chocolate chip cookies, cream cheese brownies, Boston cream cake, strawberry cake, and chocolate delight. Everything is great! I have never had lunch from Debs, but there is always a big lunch crowd. I only wish they were open on Saturdays. Try Debs, you won't be disappointed! read more

Lame. Walmart makes better baked goods. Tried the cream cheese brownies, ok. Got a strawberry cupcake, can't taste any strawberry flavoring. Got a Lemon square, flat out sucked. More crust than lemon, more salty taste than anything else. Got a pecan square, also sucked. Go to Walmart, or maybe get a sandwich. read more

Hand's down.....I LOVE DEB's!!!! From biscuits to cakes she is the BEST!!! I stop here in the mornings for the bacon & cheese biscuit. She puts her own twist on this one. She mixes the bacon & cheese in with the biscuit dough & then bakes it! Delicious!!! She has made custom cakes for me on more than one occasion including a roller skate cake with the "old fashion birthday icing", her lady fingers, butter bars, custom sugar cookies decorated in different themes and a variety of lunch sandwiches are to die for! My favorite is the chicken salad. She and her bakers are always delightful and have excellent customer service!!! Thank you Ms. Deb for making so many occasions wonderful for me and my family!! read more

I really really really love this place. They have all sorts of sweets and other eats, but my favorites hand down have to be their fried apple pies and banana bread! I LOVE them! Their fudgey pecan bars are awesome too. They have daily lunch specials like potato soup and BBQ sammichs that are delicious as well. If you have a chance to stop by, I highly recommend you do! I grew up with Deb's and it is nothing short of amazing. It used to be located extremely close to the elementary school I went to circa when I went l there. Since my mom was a teacher there, I spent many an afternoon waiting for her to finish up, and from time to time would walk to Deb's. Haha...I make it sound like a hike when in fact it was probably less than 500ft from where my mom parked. ...But I would get a cookie or a cupcake...or sometimes both if I was feeling particularly indecisive that day. It moved to a new location eventually, but then again so did I. After all, one does eventually have to leave elementary school. The cookies are always excellent from the chocolate chip to the oatmeal raisin to the peanut butter, and yes even the sugar cookies. In fact, I am not quite sure if I have ever had a cookie there I didn't like. The cupcakes are delicious, but now that I have gotten older and am rarely in Jasper. I mostly get the bigger version of the cupcake...the cake. In fact, I pretty much have to have a Deb's cake for my birthday. In fact, I don't think that it would even feel like a real birthday without one. The texture is always perfect.... moist, cakey...awesome, and the butter cream icing is perfection. The cakes are beautifully decorated as well. There has only been one cake that I have had from there that I didn't like.....but to no fault of Deb's....I just happen to really really dislike almond flavoring almost to the point of hatred. I half wish I would find something like it in Atlanta, but half wish that doesn't happen. It wouldn't be any less good, but I do kinda enjoy the special treat aspect of not getting to have it very often. read more

While staying in Big Canoe, our family stumbled across this bakery. All of the desserts looked unappetizing so we settled on brunch. The biscuits tasted like they were burnt and reheated when we got them. Half of our meals came out cold when they were supposed to be warm dishes. There were 5 of us and we all ate in silence because no one was happy with their meal. It's very inexpensive and the staff is friendly, so that's the only reason this is getting 2 stars. All of the food tasted reheated from frozen. Even my chicken biscuit was hard to get through. read more

Love this food and these people. I come in every Friday to get my son two of their brownies. It is his special treat. I have bought more pans of brownies over the years than I can remember. We've always gotten great food and friendly service. The staff is as friendly as you will find anywhere. I'm glad they operate here in Jasper! read more

I had 2 pies from here and the lemon was melting b the time I got it home and the taste was just off for a lemon pie. The blueberry looked wonderful but the berries were hard and just didn't taste good. And I love both lemon and blueberry pies. Won't go back read more

We LOVE DEBS! When we lived in Canton we drove to Jasper just to get their baked goods. Now that we live in Jasper, Debs desserts show up at every event I'm hosting. The chocolate brownies and Italian cream cake are 2 of our favorites!!!!! read more

They seemed like nice people so I really wanted to like Deb's bakery. I picked out a variety of cupcakes and bars only to come home and find out each one was as stale, dry and lackluster as the other. Their buttercream frostings are really good but that was the only thing I can recommend. The cupcakes were as dry and stale as sawdust and about as flavorful. The lemon bars and the lime bars were disappointing. The lemon and lime curd was too weak and there was too little of it, to compete with the taste of the crust so it was like eating sweetened graham cracker crumbs. The lemon pound cake was not nearly as dry as the cupcake but it was still dry, and it didn't even have a hint of lemon flavor, much like the "lemon bars." Nothing tasted fresh at all. A good bakery donates and tosses anything coming close to past prime, which means mostly everything not sold that day with a few exceptions. Maybe Deb fails to do this, which is what I suspect, or maybe something else is wrong. The quality of her baked good is very poor. It isn't that difficult to bake a decent cupcake. I gave 2 stars because the staff is so friendly, and nice. Do they really not realize the baked goods are stale, dry and lacking flavor? She should cut back on her menu and offer less variety, food but make it better, and above all else donate or trash day old baked goods. read more

I visited Debs Bakery last week because my 2 year old daughter loves cake pops . We bought 12 @ .59 cents each . This week I took my Daughter again for her cake pops " as she loves to give them to everyone that visits us " this week the Cake pops went up $ 1.50 each !!!!!!!! I walked out with 3 Cake pops and 3 cookies for $ 8.03 !!!!!!!! I will never go back , what a rip off . Extremely upset about this as I thought it would be a great treat to take my 2 year old to a special place for special treats once a week or so . I could have gotten a whole Cake for 9 dollars. Beware shoppers !!!!! Debs isn't all that good either , run of the mill stale bakery products , for Buckhead prices !!!!!!!! read more
