Mary's Bread Basket is located in a building near the corner of 53 and Sam Tate by the Lowe's grocery store. They have breakfast and lunch items. A sweet employee suggested the chicken salad as a favorite, so I ordered it for takeout (not toasted and without lettuce) as I was in a bit of a hurry. The filling was plentiful as you can tell by the photo. I ate half for lunch and other half for dinner because it was that filling. I also snagged one of their homemade oatmeal raisin cookies that's bigger than your whole hand. The cookie took up the entire to-go box. It was huge and delicious. They had chocolate chip, peanut butter, and a couple of other cookie flavors. Do note they are closed on Sundays. Looking forward to another visit and hope to dine-in next time! read more

Mary's has great fresh baked breads, nice breakfasts and very good sandwiches. We had the club, the Reuben, and the Mary's Favorite, a pimiento cheese sandwich on jalapeño cheddar bread. The place is cute and the service is friendly. Located just outside Big Canoe, it is a convenient place to grab sandwiches for lunch. read more

Mary's Bread Basket - Entrance to Mary's Bread Basket - Breakfast & Brunch Near Me - Marble Hill, Georgia

First visit to this restaurant. Kind of hard to find as it's on the back end of an office building. Inside you place an order at a small counter that is positioned in the lobby of this office building. They also have a small dining room in another area. Really strange set up. I had the turkey sandwich and my wife had a chicken salad sandwich. Both were average. This little restaurant has a very limited menu and unfortunately they were out of several items when we visited. read more

We had a great experience at Mary's Bread Basket. We came in around 10:30 on a Friday morning to place an order to-go. We were quickly helped and greeted by a friendly staff. We ordered a Ham+egg+cheese biscuit, a bacon+egg+cheese biscuit, and two breakfast sandwiches with sausage+egg+cheese. We also got a cinnamon roll, blueberry muffin, and hash browns. We got the last two biscuits, so if you're really wanting a biscuit then come early. The food came out quickly and was very fresh and tasty. The highlight of the meal was the cinnamon roll, which was one of the best things I've ever tasted. The prices were also very affordable. Overall, Mary's Bread Basket offered great food at low prices in a friendly atmosphere read more

This is how baked goods taste like when they are made at a home. We wanted to try their pimento cheese sandwich with the jalapeño cheddar bread and a cup of grits. What we noticed is the couple of ladies working at the back with huge smiles on their faces, so did the lady in the front. We requested for a taste of their famous cranberry Walnut bread and they offered a warm slice of it. It was heavenly. We loved the sandwich and grits, tasted like my grandma made it, so much of love and taste in each bite! read more

The best thing about the sandwiches is the bread. I agree with the previous reviews - it is hard to find, a weird setup inside and yes none of the workers are wearing masks. The salad was below average as well as the dessert. If you come here, just stick to the sandwiches. read more

So very excited to finally get here. I was very upset when the Mary's Bread Basket in Canton closed so once we were finally over this way it was a MUST to stop in. I enjoyed the chipotle chicken sandwich on jalapeño cheddar bread which was outstanding. My mom had Mary's favorite which she said was fabulous. This is an amazing place for sandwiches, fresh bread, muffins, cookies, cake slices, and more. They have seating inside, Togo, or a little bit of outdoor seating. I'm a huge fan of this place and hope to be back soon! read more

Good bread, friendly staff, welcoming and quick! I always call ahead and it's ready when I get there.

WOW!!!!! Driving through on business and have passed this little Gem many times. Today was the day! Order at counter and then sit in dining room and wait on the goodness. I did the chicken salad sandwich on homemade cranberry walnut bread. Yes, you read that right. Enough chicken salad for two sandwiches but I didn't mind taking care of it all as it tasted just right. A side of potato salad that is perfect texture and the bacon makes it pop. Don't pass over this place if your in Big Canoe, Dawsonville, Tate area. I won't make that mistake again. I look forward to my next visit. Update: Today I fell in love with the Chipotle Chicken on Jalapeño bread. read more

Over the past two years I have tried biscuits at every place I can find within 10 miles of Jasper. Finally made it to Mary's and am happy to say they are the best biscuits around. What makes a good biscuit? Warm, slight crunch on outside and soft and light on the inside. Moist and a little salty for taste. The thickness needs to be proportional to the filling. Too many places make dense large biscuits that overpower a slice of sausage inside. I have tried to make really good biscuits many times and have not mastered it. Something so simple is not easy to make perfect. Well done Mary. read more

A hidden gem. I have been wanting to Mary's Bread Basket for quite some time, but my schedule and Mary's just haven't aligned properly enough for us to get together. Well, today the stars aligned and I am glad that I finally prioritized this place. Unless you have heard of Mary's Bread Basket, or just happen to see the minuscule sign as you drive through the roaring metropolis that is Marble Hill, you wouldn't know you just passed one of the best sandwiches going in this area. Even if you know the general location of the place, you'd still be hard-pressed to actually FIND it. It's that well hidden. Treasure hunt over, I make my way into what appears to be an entryway to a smaller business'esque building, and Mary's is stuck right in the middle. Odd layout, but it seems to get the job done, because lunchtime is really moving here. It's best to stay out of the way, and learn from the other locals that know what they are doing. They (she) only have a few sandwich and salad options, but wow are they done correctly (and massively). I was worried that this place was going to be just another bump on the road of my reviews, with little to report home about. I was wrong! Yes, I have the ability to admit that I was wrong, but don't tell anyone about it please. I have a reputation to uphold. Large portions, customize-able sandwiches, plenty of baked goods, and nice people. What is there to dislike? Not much. I cannot wait to come back and order something else! read more

Delicious sandwiches and homemade desserts. Fast service and friendly staff. The eat in area could use some sprucing up. :)

They always have friendly service and the food is always delicious! Love Mar's Bread Basket!

Great place to grab Bacon Egg and cheese sandwich. Homemade bread is so good. You will live it

Chicken salad on grilled bread is the best I've had, served with potato salad. The word is that their breakfast menu is great

Great little place for breakfast or lunch and their desserts are wonderfully good! Highly recommended!

The bread is very good but I was disappointed that even that they close at 2, and don't use seated area after 1:30. The service was quick on the sandwiches, I had wanted breakfast but they only have one grill so they just have part of their menu! read more

We had just gotten to Big Canoe late the night before & had not gotten our groceries yet so we stopped in here. It was a little confusing when we walked in as we weren't sure where to order & where the water was or what the "flow" of the place was. We weren't really given any direction, but needless to say, the BLT sandwiches we got were AMAZING! The atmosphere is ok. Nothing fancy, but the food was good. read more

I had tuna and a brownie. Both items were good and tasted fresh, but not great. The bread on the sandwich was the best part. Note that they do not take precautions against COVID. Workers do not wear masks - and they seemed to be in a constant maskless chatter while over your food during preparation. Social distancing is not enforced or suggested when standing in line. One customer had a steady cough. read more

They have a robust bakery with fresh bread and treats made every day. They take orders for holiday pies/cakes! We came here for lunch: they have sandwiches, salads, and on days that are not Saturday, they have soup. For those avoiding gluten, there is no gluten free bread here, so be prepared to get a salad, or order a sandwich and pick off the bread. Sandwiches come with chips and a pickle, and they have soda and sweat tea as well as coffee for sale. This is a casual place for a quick lunch with delicious smelling baked goods. read more

Mary did it again!! Chipotle chicken on fresh jalapeno bread! Amazing! My wife got the same on gluten free A+

The Cinnamon roll is the best I have ever tasted...my whole family agreed. The breakfast sandwiches on biscuits and the jalapeno chedder bread were amazing as well. It is a strange restaurant set up but we can easily overlook that with delicious food and the nice ladies working there. We don't live in the area but will definitely come back! read more

We had breakfast there this morning. The sandwiches were extremely good. I had the sausage and fried egg on cranberry walnut bread. The bread was homemade and very fresh. It was the perfect compliment to the egg and sausage. The bread was buttered and toasted. It was a really good sandwich. The prices were fair and the dining room was nice and clean. The lady who took our order was really nice. She was also the cashier and the server so she was really busy. She did a great job of handling all the jobs. There were people in the kitchen making the food. We were served in throwaway containers probably because of Covid. read more

Sadly I have to take away 1 star for service today. Apparently they have changed the hours and now close at 2 p.m. Thankfully I arrived at 1:30 but I mentioned to the lady at the counter that I was sad to hear they close at 2 now because I had recommended the lunch spot to two couples I met at Gibbs that day and I was afraid they may not make it there in time. She explained that business had been slower from 2-3 which is why they are doing this. Okay, understandable. I place my sandwich order and ask if she has unsweetened tea. She says "yes, I was actually just about to throw it out"... okay, not sure why she would mention that. At any rate, I received my order and went outside to eat since the dining area is still closed. As I am eating the two elderly couples drive up and wave to me. When they approach me, I immediately mention they are closing at 2 p.m. so they head over to the door to enter and place their order. I check my cell phone and it is 1:56 so thankfully they made it in time. However, they sadly come back to me and say they are already closed. I felt so bad. I raved about this place to them and even told the woman inside I had recommended their place that day and she seriously has to close their doors 5 minutes early. Even after the two couples left, another couple drove up and went to the door at 1:58 and the door was locked. They missed out on 6 lunch orders that day because they closed up early. I recommend you call if you are even close to their closing time. You may want to ask what time they stop taking orders rather than their closing time. Food wise... the chicken salad was still good but definitely less chicken than my last visit. I did not like my potato salad today... way too much bacon in it and very little potato. It is quite small for a $1.15 upcharge so I may skip that if I return. I splurged and ordered a piece of lemon cake to take home. $5 seemed high for a slice of cake. It was not worth the money in my opinion and the frosting was way too sweet. I like sweet but this was overbearing. read more

We went two times in a row because it was just that good. I think most things here are from scratch. It tasted that way. Day one the biscuits were sold out by 9:30, and we had to get the breakfast sandwich on bread. Not a problem, I got the jalapeño bread, and it was lovely. The next day made it for the biscuit and it was very good as well. I think my third visit I will go back to the bread because it was that lovely. On day two we tried sides as well. I hade the hash browns and ate every smidge. Lastly, was the deserts. I did not have the courage to try, but I will. They appeared every bit as delightful as the rest of what I saw. What needs mentioning is the portion of these deserts. They are HUMONGOUS! The cinnamon roll, with all its glorious icing was about the size of my face. The cakes included, but not limited too, German Chocolate and Carrot. They are big enough to share for sure. I could not work at this location. That is all I will say. read more

Worth the wait! Already craving another. Very unassuming place. You order at the counter then sit down at any available table or get it to go. I got it to go because it was busy! Big portions, smaller prices than Panera or Atlanta bread and SO MUCH better!!!!! I got a whole sandwich size but a half would of been great too but I was happy to have leftovers. I wish I had bought a loaf of bread to take home. Went there today on the way to Gibbs Gardens. Got a turkey and provolone added bacon, lettuce, and tomatoes on grilled white bread. High quality meat and homemade bread. They over did it on the mayo more than my preference so I will ask for it on the side next time. Real bacon! Not that skimpy microwaved stuff. Next time I go to Gibbs going to give myself extra time to savor this place again!!! read more

We went here for breakfast looking for a sit down restaurant with regular table service. Was surprised to see that you must order as soon as you walk in and seat yourself. The food is then served in to go containers and you aren't spoken to after you receive your food. Silverware and sauces are all self serve as well. The food is very good on a positive note. I got the sausage and cheese biscuit. They said they were out of biscuits so I had to order on white bread (which was still good). The hash browns aren't anything special, they are definitely from the freezer. We also got a cinnamon roll which is very good if you like sweet foods. It is covered in cream cheese flavored icing. The chocolate chip cookies are overly sweet, wouldn't get those again. They have a variety of nice looking sliced cakes, did not get one but they looked really good! read more

Delicious. The breads are so yummy and her potato salad is the bomb. Make sure you order early because she runs out of some core dishes regularly. (everything is fresh and with that we need to realize when she runs out, she's out until the next day) read more

Mary's has great sandwich's! Always good, sweet ladies working there. Awesome baked goods!

Sandwiches, salads, and burgers are very good. Sandwiches are not skimpy but are plentiful. Home made chicken salad on fresh baked cranberry walnut bread is excellent. They use Boars Head meats and cheeses and fresh baked breads of white, whole wheat, cranberry walnut, multi-grain, and jalapeño cheddar. Salads are plentiful and tasty. Baked goods and cookies are also very good. Service at times can be slow if you're in a hurry. You place your order at the counter and seating is limited. Recommend you give them a try. read more
