I had the Chicken and Dumplings (daily special), fried okra, mashed potatoes and gravy and biscuit (with a side of gravy). All my food was great, it needed a bit of salt but I'd prefer to add salt that have food that's too salty. My wife had the sausage egg and cheese biscuit and the grits. She enjoyed it all and said that she agrees the biscuits are 5 stars. MIL had the chicken salad sandwich which she also liked and said the fries were really good and seemed fresh cooked. We didn't know this place was open so this was our first time. We live close by and will definitely be back.

A sweet employee suggested the chicken salad as a favorite, so I ordered it for takeout (not toasted and without lettuce) as I was in a bit of a hurry. The filling was plentiful as you can tell by the photo. I ate half for lunch and other half for dinner because it was that filling. I also snagged one of their homemade oatmeal raisin cookies that's bigger than your whole hand. The cookie took up the entire to-go box. It was huge and delicious. They had chocolate chip, peanut butter, and a couple of other cookie flavors. Do note they are closed on Sundays. Looking forward to another visit and hope to dine-in next time!

Something about the Picnic Cafe name made me think the food would be a little more homemade, cute in presentation, etc. but that wasn't quite the case. Our food was served on styrofoam, the coffee drinks were a-okay (from a machine) and the jelly was served in packets (I'm not sure why but I really pictured sweet local jams or something that would tie back to the name and feel of the business). The bakery case offered croissants, cookies, etc. I didn't try any of those for myself so I can't speak to them. They offer a handful of small tables both inside and on the front patio overlooking the square.  The service was great - I'd be remiss if I didn't mention that here.

Dawsonville keeps proving that great local businesses are alive and well…read more I stopped by IGY6 Coffee Company and immediately understood why people enjoy spending time here. Chris and his wife have built something special. The shop is clean, welcoming, and incredibly well thought out. Whether you're looking for a comfortable couch to relax, a family table, an individual workspace with power outlets, or just a quiet place to read a book, they've created a space that works for everyone. One of my favorite touches was their community book exchange. Grab a book, enjoy a coffee or pastry, read for a while there or at home, and bring it back when you're finished. It's a simple idea, but it adds a lot of character to the shop. I'm not a coffee drinker, so I went with the COMBAT CLUB sandwich (ham, turkey, bacon, swiss, cheddar, lettuce, tomato, garlic aoli on sourdough), chips, a Diet Coke, and a Reese's peanut butter cookie. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and well prepared. The sandwich was loaded with meat and made for a great lunch. The service was outstanding. Everyone was friendly and welcoming, and you can tell they genuinely care about their customers. You order and they'll call out your name for pick up when it's ready. I also got to meet Cassie, the service dog who quietly hangs out in her own little corner. She was adorable and perfectly behaved. What stood out most wasn't any single menu item... it was the atmosphere. The entire place feels like it was designed to bring people together. Between places like Roundabout Deli, Hatsu Hibachi, and now IGY6 Coffee Company, Dawsonville is building a reputation for some truly outstanding locally owned businesses. I'll definitely be back to try more of the menu. Thank you Chris & team for doing what you do!! Wishing y'all much success Edit: They also have a drive thru

We came for their Easter brunch and had a delightful time! Our server, Joshua, was wonderful and all the staff seemed to be enjoying their day as well. The chef was closely monitoring every station to be sure each dish was replenished quickly, and the omelette and carving stations were staffed by very cheerful employees, which made the day all the more festive because of it! And the food . . . So good! None of the usual tasteless buffet food found in many other restaurants, this was truly delicious . We began with a field green salad with croutons and a nice charcuterie board with yummy prosciutto, black olives, cornichon, goat cheese, and fresh buffalo mozzarella. Steamed shrimp with tasty cocktail sauce and incredibly delicious smoked salmon, complete with tangy capers. There were two soup choices and we had the corn and crab bisque. . . delicious as well! Lunch offerings included mashed potatoes, Mac and cheese, and fresh steamed green beans and carrots. Next were the protein choices, which included lemon salmon, a gorgeous prime rib with horseradish sauce, and baked ham. To round out breakfast, there was an omelette station ( delicious) and eggs Benedict. Finally, a groaning dessert table with carrot cake, delightfully tangy key lime pie, coconut cake, chocolate torte, and red velvet cake. This was one of the nicest holiday buffets we've ever attended. It was busy but not crowded (so nice they took reservations) like so many Atlanta restaurants tend to be. The view is unmatched and the service and general atmosphere are top notch. We plan to be back for Mother's Day!
