Recently updated, road side convenience store offering gas (including diesel), drinks, snacks & a good selection of various supplies. They even have a small cafe where they make fresh foods for breakfast & lunch. Anything from pizza to deli to diner type options. Consistently good food whatever you choose. Staff within the store, as well as, in the cafe have always been super friendly, helpful & willing to accommodate. Opens at 6 AM during the week & 7 AM on the weekends. 7 days a week. Stopped in to grab a sandwich to take on our hiking trip. Didn't get a chance to eat it but Debbie did take it to lunch and said it was ok. The folks inside were super friendly and had so many great suggestions for a good local sandwich but Debbie was not into them so it was your basic ham and cheese. read more

Four stars - yes. Ok. It's a gas station and small grocery out in the country -- with killer pimento cheese sandwiches and just what you need when you need it. Sandwich board is diverse, fairly priced and the inside tables are comfortable. Everyone is friendly. If you are traveling 52 to sightsee, check out wineries or just get somewhere, this is a quick spot to grab a bite to eat. Looking for a sweet snack? This little gem is tucked away in the middle of nowhere. We stopped for gas and was pleasantly surprised they offered a nice variety of food. We had the barbecue and it was the best I have had anywhere. This 107 year old place offers a taste of yesterday with the modern and was delightful. The folks were super friendly. Don't let the unassuming white storefront on this corner grocery deceive you, inside is a charming, bright and welcoming store with some top notch goodies. I had only stopped to get an ice cream cone for my son, but I left with homemade pimento cheese, fried pies, fresh baked chocolate pecan cookies and two tomatoes that weren't technically for sale, but they sold them to me from their deli because I needed them...and the ice cream cone. They looked like they had non-perishable grocery items well-stocked, but I was distracted by homemade treats. read more

Visiting Ellijay we were looking for something authentic and Crossroads Grocery hit it perfectly! The food was great & I would be happy to return. I just moved into the campground across the street. These people are awesome I've been eating two times a day they're pumping gas and doing as much business as I can to support this local enterprise. They are a bright and fresh alternative to buying the larger box stores. The brisket is incredible and so is the pulled pork I would recommend it to anybody. Riles is the owner and make sure to have the ice cream...best around with 16% butterfat and awesome flavors! read more

When you almost drive by this old wood framed gas station or if you stop to buy gas, definitely go inside. You will find a friendly atmosphere and the best biscuits, with many choices of meats, egg or cheese. I hear from family who own a cabin and eat there often that the hot dogs and hamburgers are the best, but we had breakfast and the the coffee was perfect. read more

While staying in Ellijay for a few days, I by chance, saw this little country store/gas station. I was looking for something to eat because I was sooo hungry. After reading several reviews I decided to try it. I was pleasantly surprised. The jalapeño pimento cheese was AMAZING. I tried that after reading rave reviews about it. I'm not a pimento cheese type of woman but decided to try it anyway. Not disappointed. I had a brisket sandwich on a hoagie. The sandwich was topped with slaw, BBQ sauce, mozzarella and onions. It was tender and very flavorful. The hoagie (IMHO) was too soft, more bun like then hoagie (hero, from where I come from originally) but delicious nonetheless. The owner was very pleasant, the woman that made my sandwich was super busy but not too busy to give me a sample of the jp cheese without me even asking for it. Nice and pleasant personality Don't be fooled by the unassuming exterior. This place is a must try while in Ellijay! read more

We just moved into the area and a neighbor mentioned that this little unassuming place made pizza. They also are the only ones in the area selling gas that is ethanol free. I needed gas for my tractor and outdoor equipment so I stopped by to fill up my cans. The wife and I went inside just to check the place out. It's a cute little country store that sells most of your basics as well as having a little food counter along with a few tables. We looked through the store, paid for my gas and went home. As we were sitting contemplating dinner, my wife says I could go a pizza from Crossroads. I give them a call order a large cheese and sausage and they tell me to pick it up in 30 minutes. I get there and it's done right on time and was made to order by the owner. The pizza was pretty darn good. Sausage was tasty and even though their large was only 14" it was plenty for the two of us. Best part of it was that it was just over 10 bucks. Can't beat that with a stick and it was better than most chains. Since it's the closest business establishment to me I will try this other offerings too. BBQ, sandwiches, hot dogs and biscuits in the AM. One drawback is they do not sell beer, so will need to get that elsewhere. read more

get a bbq sandwich here! get six! their smoker gets a lot of action. some of the tastiest pork ever. ryals cheek is awesome. he's done a great job cleaning this place up. the turnaround is amazing. it used to be one of those spots where you could only find monster energy drinks, various auto items (oil for your car, etc,) cigarettes. you can still find all that stuff i'm sure, but now they have tons of really good food options! read more

We came across this gem last weekend on our way to Cartecay Vineyard. The barbecue was delicious and the owner was extremely hospitable. We were even offered a free scoop of ice cream at the end of our meal (and boy was it delicious!). Highly recommend stopping in for lunch or dessert! read more
