A few months before the wedding, Pavla gave us a taste testing at which we tried, IIRC, 6 different types of cake. They were all good. We ended up going with two different types of strawberry on the top 2 levels, and green tea on the bottom level. Everyone at the wedding enjoyed the cake, and instead of freezing it, we ate remaining cake over the next week, and it was tasty the whole way through. Our favorite venue in Helen. Our favorite bakery cafe now anywhere, actually, If it was close to home we'd be in real danger of breaking our scales. Do yourself a favor and head for the Bohemian for breakfast or lunch as often as possible while you are in town. We regretted having gone to one of the other bakeries for our first breakfast in Helen, as it does not touch this one in quality and service. No issues with changing the menu items - in fact they offer a make-your-own combo if you don't like the ones you see. The family that owns the bakery is low key and very friendly, including their adorable 2-year-old. The dining room is bright and open, but tables are few and on the intimate side so it won't accommodate a large party. Breakfast and lunch sandwiches & crepes are fresh and inventive, and the bakery treats are out of this world good. Luckily most of the treats are of the one/two bite size (3 for $5.00), so you can try a large variety and not feel (too) guilty. Recommended for breakfast: The Biker Chick (ask for extra jalapeno sauce on the side) and the Baker's Cheese Crepe. Had super high hopes for this place after seeing good reviews. They were apparently having service issues (staff walking out/people being late). Carrie our server was the best thing about our experience here. She was busting her butt to make up for what seemed like everyone else's lackadaisical attitude. We had to return everyone's potatoes because they were ice cold, and the waffle was totally dried out. May try again at some later time when they work out the kinks. Very disappointed after waiting close to an hour for food. When it finnaly arrived, wings were cold and dry, and burgers were just mediocre. The waitress was very nice and apologized a couple of times at first, but stopped coming alltogether after 45 minutes (I assume out of embarrassment.) Not to mention that prices are way to high for the quality and amount of food you get. I hope this is not standard of quality in Helen, and I might be spoiled coming from Atlanta where restaurants are pretty awesome. Not coming back here for sure. read more

Everyone should read my review before deciding if you would like to do business with this bakery!!!!!! Awful customer service and you will not get what you ask for and then be told that she is gone! She is the only one there the "chef" who can bake or adjust the cakes so if there is a problem or something that she forget, which likely she will, it will not be fixed. The picture of what I requested and what I was going to receive was completely different. Then instead of offering to fix it she just said "I'll refund you what do you want me to do". Wasn't impressed. Found out they used to have a smaller location and just recently opened a larger one. Had to ask numerous times for water. The crepes were too thick and underwhelming. My fiancé ordered the Texas skillet which was supposed to come with bacon and Canadian ham. They forgot the meat and didn't even realize it! He also ordered the German Chocolate waffles without coconut or nuts and were brought out with both. The waffles ended up tasting chalky. When we brought it to the waitresses attention the chef was nice enough to come over and ask what was wrong but she actually brought the meal out so she should have known.
