Had biscuits with egg and bacon with a side of a plain pancake. These biscuits are huge and so delicious. Pancake was also good. Such cheap prices. Would love to eat here everyday.

Holy cow! This place has the best breakfast I've ever had! We went here after hiking Anna Ruby Falls. I ordered the breakfast platter with eggs over medium. The potatoes are more like a potato hash mixed with crushed bacon, onions, peppers and pieces of crispy burnt cheese. Every bite was so freaking savory! They have a small area for sitting inside but a nice outdoor seating area. Staff was super friendly! We are definitely coming back to try the burgers!

During my 3 day trip to Georgia, I stopped by this spot with my friends. We were starving and had seen great reviews so we decided to stop by. Off the bat, I loved the feeling of a little cozy spot. When we got there, the staff were so sweet and inviting. The cashier told us all about the menu and they were kind enough to make me a bacon, egg and cheese after the breakfast window. The bacon, egg and cheese was really good and the bacon was cooked to perfection. The biscuit was nice and soft. The menu looked so good especially if you're a lover of burgers. Definitely a spot to check out!

Needed breakfast before we got back on the road and we really wanted some good coffee as well. Hoochees River Basket was recommended on Yelp so I decided to stop in. Hoochees is a small cafe and you order at the counter, staff brings you the food. Inside there is only 1 or 2 small tables so we sat outside which is really very pretty with picnic tables and umbrellas with a cute river below where you can sit and watch the geese go by. I ordered a caramel and regular latte. They brought me a vanilla latte which it was fine. I tasted more milk more than anything. My mom did not like her latte, I tasted it and it really tasted like just milk. It seemed that the coffee they used was regular black coffee instead of espresso for a latte, personally I did not like either. I tried the Hoochie platter that has corn beef hash, cheese, potatoes and eggs your style, it was good and filling. We also got the beignets. I was thinking they would be real beignets but they seemed like store bought round beignets with Nutella inside. Even though, they were good, it wasn't really a "beignet".

    Behind the food truck

We had the breakfast wrap! I thought there would be more on the menu and a few menu items were marked out like it was out of stock. Flavor was good. The store front is a food truck parked behind the river float store. May be hard to find for those traveling through but definitely delicious!

The kind of diner that feels like you've been going there for years--even if it's your first time. Whether you squeeze in to dine or eat in the car, the flavors will meet you there. Yummy pancakes topped with Nutella. The Hoochee Platter loaded with the perfect breakfast picks. Not sure you can make a wrong decision. Hidden gem

Great little roadside Café. Don't let its small appearance stop you. The burgers were amazing and the staff was so very kind!! Thank you!!!

    Floating Tacos

We stopped in here on a Wednesday for lunch. My niece and I both ordered the Floating Tacos. It was served in a bag of sweet BBQ potato chips. I added tomato and red onion to mine. It was good for what it was, but between the sweet chips and the sweet BBQ sauce, it was way, way too sweet for both of us. I recommend a less sweet BBQ sauce and less sweet BBQ chips. I would go back but order something different.

Came here for the first time as a recommendation from a friend. This is very hole in the wall feeling. When you first walk in the decor Is decent and very small seating area. Maybe max of 10-15 people. I would come in a sunny day as seating would be extremely limited on a rainy day. The menu was very fair priced. Started with a Buddha burger and honestly it was amazing. The "fries" on the side remind me of scallop fried potatoes more than fries but they were good. My friends got the smash burger and they ranked it the 2nd best in the town. Overall service was quick and they were very polite. We were so excited with lunch we ordered dessert after and got the Creme Brulee and it was a little bland in my opinion. They give you plenty but it needed some sort of sauce drizzle or fruit to really make it outstanding. The beignets were extremely fresh and delicious. I wish it had a berry sauce to dip them in to break up the richness but overall I'd order again. The only down side to this location is the seating area is extremely limited so come early to get a spot and the food feels like a hidden gem when visiting Helen.

We were really worried that the super-high ratings for Hoochee's might not be legit. Worry not! I got the chopped cheese w/bacon and broccoli, and my wife got the Buddha burger with home fries. We are here in Helen for several days and are already planning a return trip! Yep, it is small and quaint. We ate at the long wooden bar overlooking the River. It is clear that the people who run this place care deeply about great food and friendly service. This place is a treasure.

Small hidden spot outside of town. Was still able to accommodate our part of 7. Looks like a 2 person team but they rocked rush hour! Our food was hot and fresh. Lots of flavor. Absolutely no complaints. You get a lot of food for the price. The customer service was outstanding. Dude always has a smile on his face. You can definitely tell they take a lot of pride in this gem of a place. We sat outside on the deck overlooking the river. Saw some trout and a duck. Kids were able to run off some energy. My latte was made exactly how I requested and honestly, it's been the best I've found so far in town. No bathrooms but the store next door didn't mind us using theirs. We come every year so I guess we'll be adding this place to one of our stops!

I ordered biscuits and gravy and hubby ordered the hoochie platter! So delicious!!

My husband and I are on vacation for the week and ran across Hoochies on our way in, had breakfast the next day(absolutely amazing breakfast btw) went back for dinner(tried the Buddha burger, BEST BURGER I'VE EVER HAD) The owners are wonderful and we give FIVE stars to this place! Must try!

If you've spent more than five minutes eating your way through Alpine Helen GA, you already know…read morethe truth: finding genuinely good, made-from-scratch food here feels like a competitive sport--and most places are losing. Campfire Restaurant isn't just winning... it's playing a completely different game. I've been here since day one, watching owner Matt and his crew build this place with intention and pride. This isn't a "let's open and see what happens" spot--this is passion, detail, and respect for doing food right. In a town where "authentic" can mean reheated and overpriced, Campfire stands out like a perfectly cooked ribeye in a sea of mediocrity. The vibe hits immediately--rustic North Georgia lodge meets modern comfort. Wood, textures, that Smoky Mountains ambiance. Indoor dining is cozy, outdoor dining under Edison lights is where the magic lives. It's date night, family dinner, or "I survived today" energy all in one place. Locals recommend this place for a reason--and locals don't hype things lightly. Now the food. Everything is made in-house--real Southern food, comfort food, and American food with flavor and consistency. The Southwest Gunpowder Nachos? Legendary. Handmade chips, massive portions--get steak and extra corn. It's two meals unless you're me. Best value in Helen. The smash burger is easily one of the best in Georgia--juicy, consistent, unforgettable. Fried chicken is solid, but locals will tell you: get the chicken tenders. Ribeye is tender, juicy, and always recommended. Mac and cheese? Creamy, different--but I'll admit I'm biased because mine is elite. Still worth trying. And the s'mores dessert--if you don't have room, make room. It's rich, indulgent, and perfect for date night or birthdays. Service has that "Cheers" feel--friendly, consistent, no judgment if you roll in looking like life just happened. They remember you, take care of you, and that matters. Parking is easy in the Alpine village shopping center. Seating is quick if you're smart about timing (don't be silly). Live music adds to the vibe without overpowering it. Prices are reasonable (rare for Helen), portions are big, and quality stays consistent--that trifecta is everything. This is a bucket list, must visit, locals favorite, top rated spot in Alpine Helen GA. Whether it's Oktoberfest, a Smoky Mountains trip, or just a Friday night--this is where you go when you want food that actually delivers. And honestly? In this town... that says everything. #facts REASONS TO VISIT: 1. Must visit, bucket list restaurant in Alpine Helen GA 2. Locals favorite, top rated, best in North Georgia 3. When a server set the steak on the table shortly after, I asked for 57 sauce, as I'm a sauce guy. When the server brought it back he told me to try a bite without sauce as their steaks are well seasoned. Boy was he right! The gunpowder seasoning along with the clarified butter really enhanced the flavor of the ribeye. My wife gave me a bite of her chicken Alfredo and it was well seasoned too. Nice balance of garlic. The sides are the reason for a the 4 star review, though if judged by the steak alone, it would easily be a 5 star review. I ordered the loaded mashed potatoes, and they were topped with cheese and bacon. The potatoes needed seasoning. Mostly salt, pepper, and butter. The same could be said of the Mac and cheese. Our server was amazing. He had a great personality, and made sure we had a good meal The restaurant was clean.

We started with the Pretzel Bites which were essentially deep fried pieces of pretzels. Not sure who thought to say this was Bavarian style. I'm not entirely sure they were deep fried but they had a very thick batter and tasted similar to say an onion ring batter. Very crunchy even through. We're pescatarian anyway so food is always limited in tourist towns (but far easier to find options in Germany than in Helen). I decided to go with the veggie burger which was a black bean patty from Morningstar. Honestly I like them and we asked before anyway so this was fine with me. The bread was good and the fries were fresh and hot. My wife got the fish platter I think it was called and it was pretty bad. She could eat the fries but not all of the fish. It was heavily deep fried and you could flick it putting a dent in the batter. My son got the fried shrimp which he ate a couple of but then said he was done. My wife tried his and said it was better than the fish platter so had a couple. We went with two friends who shared chicken tenders. They weren't impressed, to me they looked like chicken schnitzel it was so thin. I'm not going to judge quality on chicken though so it may be good? Location and service was the main thing going for it. Our waitress was very nice and attentive, we sat outside and we could watch people float by tubing so people watching was good. The atmosphere at this time during lunch was pretty quiet and chill. I could see it getting packed in the evenings especially for those going out for drinks. Overall I can't say I was surprised by the quality but I hoped I would be wrong. For the cost and quality of food we won't go back.
