Went here because other reviews said the gluten free pancakes were good and so glad I did! Sometimes the problem with GF is that they tend to fall apart, but I did not have that issue here! They could make any flavor gluten free and the German apple pancakes I chose were so soft and delicious! They also had a pastry case full of gluten free goodies that looked so tempting! The store attached was nice to browse through while we waited for our food. Everyone that talked to us was very kind and attentive. Very small seating area, about 5 tables so expect a wait and bench seating so not very comfy. Staff was overwhelmed so bring patience - were out of some menu items. We went in for a quick breakfast while passing through Helen, and that other review referencing an "I survived" story was right. It took about ten minutes for us to be seated when the restaurant was half empty, with multiple of the waitresses telling us the hostess will be with us in a minute, but no hostess came, someone else eventually seated us. After being seated, we sat there for about 20 minutes while we watched all of the staff polish silverware instead of taking our orders, literally all of them were just cleaning. One group behind us was able to put in an order, but I am not confident they were going to receive it any time soon. A group that was there far before us only received their order right as we were about to leave, and they did not seem happy when they got it. We ended up walking out before ordering, which I've never had to do before, but didn't see us being helped anytime soon. We then went 15 minutes to the east where we found the amazing Sautee Trail Cafe which had us seated and ordered in less than 5 minutes. The food was wonderful and I could not recommend the small diner more. Note that the entire area was filled with cheap seating and thick binder menus. (All of their furniture is from Amazon, I know because I had it when I was a broke college student). The best way to describe the ambiance is "Weird." The food is incredibly expensive for the amount people were getting. Expect 15 dollars for two medium sized pancakes and nothing else. This was by far the worst restaurant experience I have ever had. Do NOT go to this restaurant, you will regret it. You've been warned. read more

We were excited to try this place, but wow... what an experience. It took 15 minutes to be seated and almost an hour for our food -- meanwhile, the extremely quiet, cramped dining room made it hard to have a normal conversation. When my friend politely asked about the wait, the waitress told her she "didn't have to yell." I promise, talking at a normal volume probably counts as shouting in there. The food was just okay -- bacon, eggs, toast -- bacon not as crispy as I like, coffee $3 with no automatic refills, and my sugar got ruined when a water spill turned the bowl into a tiny swimming pool. The ambiance was... weird. Imagine massage music with crickets, running water, and rain sounds. I wasn't sure if I was supposed to eat or take a nap. We also weren't allowed to sit at one of the six empty outdoor tables because we didn't have a dog. Oh, and the bathroom is a two-stall "family" bathroom, shared by men and women, which was... a little unsettling. Overall, decent food but slow service, awkward music, quirky rules, and cramped space make this more of a "we survived" story than a relaxing breakfast. read more

The menu had a good variety and the food was made fresh and added a last highlight to our stay. I could not recommend this enough if you are in the area. read more

Our waitress was Cara. She went out of her way to help me find food options that worked with my diet. If we lived in town, we would definitely become regulars of this cozy little hidden gem!
