This little piece of heaven in Helen Ga is getting quite a reputation around town as being THE BEST coffee place in the county. After a few times of referring our personal guests to DGC, strictly based on their reputation, I decided to go. I mean, I thought there was nothing for non coffee lovers however, was I ever wrong! I love their sweet tea and I have recently been ordering their energy drinks. Their paninis and bagels and their avocado toast are delectable. Don't get me started on their pastries! Our 11 year old nephew stated their hot chocolate was the best he's ever had. They have so many items to eat and drink, whether you're a coffee drinker or not. I now tell locals all about them. I was at our bank in Heien after just eating at DGC and I asked our banker if she had ever eaten there and she stated "no, however all of my coworkers have and I'm not sure why I haven't". I told her to not wait any longer for a great breakfast, lunch or just a pick me up. Do yourself a favor, and go! Their prices are great, and you won't find nicer employees in town!

We ordered the pretzel sticks with their beer cheese, and they were incredible. The pretzels were warm, soft on the inside with the perfect chewy exterior, and the beer cheese was rich, creamy, and full of flavor. It was the perfect snack to share while exploring downtown. We also couldn't resist the bakery. We picked up a raspberry Linzer cookie, and it was phenomenal, buttery, perfectly baked, and filled with just the right amount of sweet-tart raspberry jam. Before leaving, we grabbed a bottle of their blueberry maple syrup to take home, and if it tastes anything like everything else we tried, I'm sure it'll be just as amazing. Their bakery cases are packed with fresh breads, pastries, cookies, cakes, jams, and other specialty items that make it hard to leave empty-handed. The atmosphere is warm, cozy, and beautifully fits Helen's Bavarian theme. The smell of fresh bread greets you as soon as you walk through the doors, making it feel like an authentic German bakery. Even with how busy it was, the staff kept everything moving efficiently and were friendly throughout our visit. Whether you're stopping in for breakfast, a snack, or just to browse the bakery, Hofer's is well worth the visit. Between the fresh baked goods, delicious food, authentic atmosphere, and unique take-home items, it's easy to see why it's one of Helen's most popular spots. We'll definitely be back on our next trip.

One of our friends found this place highly rated and we added it to the list. My favorite part was the store outside that had all of the german goodies you could want for sale, and lots of delicious treats. For lunch, I got the chicken salad on a croissant with a side of red cabbage.I recommend this place for breakfast or lunch, it's authentic and good.

It was a sweltering day outside and the A/C and cold beers were definitely a welcomed sight. The owner and staff we spoke with were so friendly and gave my brother in law (who will be close by now) the run down on upcoming Oktoberfest events and when the best times to visit were to avoid the insane college weekends. We had one of the most delicious pretzels I've ever consumed and I took precisely zero pictures of it because it didn't last long. Inside the shop is small but they have a big beautiful outdoor seating space with games at each table. We look forward to visiting again in the cooler months and checking out their sister store up the road.

You order your food up front and can grab it and take it outside. We enjoyed our pretzels and beer here, but wish we didn't have to wait inside for a while before getting our food (or that it could have been walked out to us). Prices were great for the location. Liked the string game outside (where you try to get the string on the hook). A great little stop for a quick, cheap bite. Not necessarily a place to linger.

I didn't try either during my visit, so I can't speak to their quality, but it's nice that they have more than just honey available. The highlight for me was being able to sample both their traditional and whipped honey before making a purchase. It was a great way to compare flavors without feeling pressured, and the staff was friendly throughout the experience. After tasting a few options, I ended up taking home the Lemon Whipped Honey and Cinnamon Whipped Honey, and I'm glad I did. The whipped honey has an incredibly smooth, creamy texture that spreads easily, and both flavors were delicious. The lemon is bright and refreshing, while the cinnamon has a warm, comforting flavor that's perfect on toast, biscuits, or even stirred into tea. My only reason for giving four stars instead of five is the price. The honey is definitely on the more expensive side, so it's more of a specialty purchase than something I'd buy regularly. That said, the quality is excellent, and the ability to sample before buying helped make the purchase feel worthwhile. Overall, this is a charming local shop with great products and a welcoming atmosphere. If you're a honey lover or looking for a unique gift, I'd definitely recommend stopping in. I would happily come back to pick up more whipped honey and maybe give the coffee and pastries a try next time.
