Bratwurst platter, side of Spätzle
KingMickey t.

Family friendly German and Czech food. We had our dog with us and they found us a placed outside on the covered porch. The food was good, with good portions. Service was friendly. My grandson loved his spaetzle, my daughter loved her brats. The goulash was good, but not great: I'll have something else next time. Did not go inside, so I cannot speak to noise or ambiance. The porch was nice, though.

It is a cute little restaurant that gives amazing portions. The cheese app was good. The other 2 items we had were under seasoned to me. But honestly... that's probably how it should taste. That's just my personal opinion. We had one waitress blonde that was amazing. Katherine. She was very personable. I loved her energy. It would have been nice to have her the whole while. Overall it was a great experience.

Mullers! Pretty funny (and fitting) since that's my name too! The staff here is wonderful--super friendly, attentive young ladies who really take care of the tables. Prices are fair, and the food is so good! I tried my very first Reuben here and it was absolutely delicious. The homemade soups are rich and flavorful, and the Greek salad came loaded with all the best toppings. They offer both indoor and outdoor dining--we chose to sit outside, and the weather, atmosphere, surrounding area, and music made it a perfect experience. Definitely worth a visit!

Muller's exemplifies and amplifies the super cute German theme of Helen, Georgia. My sister and I went and had an enormous breakfast with a beautiful array of their fine food! We had to have their Epic fried cheese kabob. If you love cheese, do not skip this. Make this your cheat day if you have to. It is outstanding, especially with that little spring mix side salad. My sis ordered the chicken schnitzel with eggs and home style potatoes. I had the mouth-watering French toast. Needless to say, we didn't leave a spec of food. The chicken was juicy and tender and crispy all at once. The service was outstanding. The server was very kind and attentive. They only have a few seats inside but they do have outdoor seating in two covered patios. This is a must go if you're in the area.

Tried this place for dinner based on their reviews. The host was nice. The manager who seated us was really nice. My server very nice too. My biggest complaint is about the wait encountered. I was quoted about 30 minutes to be seated and was probably a little over that, thankfully with other parties leaving to get progressed through the list faster. Once we were seated though, the first thing our waitress said is that it was going to be another hour before the kitchen would have our food out. In reality, time from seating to getting our food was probably was closer to an hour and a half. I ordered the wiener schnitzel with potato salad and spätzle. Everything tasted very good. I enjoyed my schnitzel. I liked the flavor of their potato salad a lot but didn't care for peas being in it. That was a first for me. The spätzle was good. I did order it with some additional toppings which were missing when it came out. No way I was sending it back. The plain original one was fine and they fixed the check no problem before cashing out. All in all, I would recommend this place on the food if their was not a wait. I would be hesitant to recommend it if you get waitlisted outside because of how long it took the kitchen. I hope they get that figured out. On food alone I wpuld of gave them 4 stars. For me tonight and the overall experience, I have to drop it to 3.

Grilled cheese and tomato soup

Not ideal breakfast spot- The service was great, but the food left us disappointed. We had the grilled cheese/tomato soup which admittedly was good, nothing to write home about but nice on a cold day. The chicken schnitzel though was truly awful- the breading was half off it when it arrived and was so rubbery we spit out the few bites we tried. The eggs and potatoes were typical diner style so not much to praise or complain of. The only saving grace was the great hot cocoa we had. Super let down because we thought this was a good breakfast choice. Would recommend elsewhere unfortunately

Service was great and the atmosphere. We had iced coffee that was good enough .We had the fried cheese kabob appetizer, and the fried cheese sandwich combo. All 3 of us agreed we would not eat here again. The wait was too long and the food was not that good for the price. This wasn't a good pick for The Working Man Review.

Decided to eat here based on two factors- high yelp ratings and they are able to cater to GF allergies. Sadly most restaurants in Helen get horrible reviews, couldn't find one over a 4! We sat outside on a beautiful fall day, our waitress was so kind and excellent, she got our drinks right away, answered our food questions and made great recommendations and suggestions for allergies. I got the bratwurst sandwhich with no bun and a side salad. The bratwurst wasn't bad, the sourkraut a little too soggy but the salad was really great- fresh lettuce, veggies and cut cheese that was so great and home made dressing. The hubs got the Ruben and fresh cut fries. You can get frozen fries or for $2 more fresh cut. Get the fresh cut- really good! We were pleasantly surprised with this place given most places have such low ratings. We'd give this place a solid 4.3.

Jaeger Schnitzel & Wiener Schnitzel

Came for Oktoberfest and walked by this restaurant. I got the jaeger schnitzel & my friend got the wiener schnitzel. It was very good but overpriced. Service was good.

Fried mozzarella Cheese Stuffed with Ham and roast potatoes.

We actually visited this place twice in one day. We went there for breakfast and loved it. We had delicious bacon, tasty eggs, toast, veggie omelette, chicken schnitzel, roast potatoes and eggs. For dinner, we again had the chicken schnitzel, Spaetzle with mushroom sauce and fried cheese with roast potatoes. It was good food. We recommend it.

We stopped here to get breakfast while visiting Helen. They were very quick to sit us down and take our order. However, we didn't get the food until 45 minutes later. We were advised the kitchen was behind and that to do a breakfast order they have to clean the grill to do eggs. This makes no sense considering they have an all day breakfast. Why not have a grill for eggs? They also advertise their famous fried cheese but to me it was just a mozzarella stick lol Other than that there was nothing special about the breakfast. I hear the spaetzle was good tho. Not sure I'd come back. The decor was cute as it's part of Helen

Fried cheese kabab

This restaurant had a great atmosphere, very warm and inviting. The food tasted great, especially the fried cheese kebab and cherry milkshake, those are must tries. The service was OK it wasn't too fast but alright.

Pretty darn good! Very small inside. Neat food choices. Service was good. Cheese was just ok which makes me sad because this is what I was most excited about. Coffee drinks are on point but super sweet. We were lucky to get a table.

I'm going to be visiting in late November will the patio be open then? I'm taking my dog with me so dog friendly restaurants are a must

Our patio is open year round, when it gets colder we’ll provide heat lamps! Thank you for checking us out!

Chai, the hostess, greeted us as we came in and seated us promptly for our reservation. My partner is gluten free so there was a lot of excitement for us around being able to eat without worries of cross contamination! We ordered the bread board, mac and cheese, and Brussels sprouts as well as the steak special (12 oz steak with fingerling potatoes) alongside the cucumber gimlet and watermelon + coconut mojito to drink. Everything was seasoned to perfection and the focaccia bread was soft in particular. The Brussels sprouts definitely blew our minds and had a rich, savory aioli on them. We were stuffed after all this delicious food but definitely still ended our meal with the peaches and cream crème brûlée which had pieces of peaches inside and was topped with fresh homemade whipped cream. Chai even came and checked in on us during our meal, which I think was so indicative of the wonderful service they provide here. I was so impressed with our experience here and look forward to visiting The Crown again!

The restaurant and patio bar are within walking distance to other spots in downtown Black Mountain, easily walkable if you are staying at an Airbnb in the local area like we were. The cocktails were glorious. On the first night, Puck's Potion and Negroni were very enjoyable. We found ourselves at the outdoor bar with the patio behind us, surrounded by quaint shops offering various retail and service options. The bartender that served us was super cool on the first night. We didn't have to wait for stools and enjoyed our cocktails on high-top seats. The second time we went, which was our last night in town, we had a reservation and went downstairs into the cellar. Watch your step as you descend the stairs so you don't trip. 1 STAR THE MOST APPALLING RESTAURANT EXPERIENCE I'VE EVER HAD!…read moreAs a local property owner in the Helen area, I am absolutely disgusted by how my friends, my 8-month-old baby, and I were treated at Bodensee Restaurant. After a full day of shopping, my two friends visiting from out of town wanted authentic German food. I suggested Bodensee. We hadn't eaten all day and were looking forward to a wonderful meal. Instead, we experienced the WORST customer service I have ever witnessed! Our server, Victoria, was rude and impatient from the beginning. She rushed us to order before we had even opened our menus, rolled her eyes at our questions, and seemed irritated by our presence. Our food took OVER AN HOUR to arrive. Despite the wait, we remained polite, repeatedly saying, "No problem." We understood it was Oktoberfest and the restaurant was busy. When our meals finally arrived, the food was COLD! My German potatoes were ice-cold, and although my friends' plates were hot, their food was cold. The cheese on one potato hadn't even melted! My friend politely approached management. That's when things became unbelievable. The owner, whom I believe is named Doina, approached our table with an incredibly hostile attitude. When we explained the issue, she snapped, "Do you know how busy we are? It's Oktoberfest!" Every time I attempted to speak, she interrupted me or shook her head. Her aggressive tone frightened my baby so much that I asked her to PLEASE calm down. THEN THE UNTHINKABLE HAPPENED! The owner actually ATE FOOD DIRECTLY OFF MY FRIEND'S PLATE to prove it wasn't cold! My friend had already taken two bites! We were absolutely SHOCKED! Who does that?! Instead of apologizing or offering fresh food, she continued arguing until she began yelling, "GET OUT!" My friend even offered to pay for our unfinished drinks, but we were repeatedly ordered to leave. THEN THINGS ESCALATED EVEN FURTHER! One server took a partially opened miniature bottle of Prosecco and THREW IT INTO MY BABY'S STROLLER, soaking the seat! Another employee shouted profanity at us, including "F*** you, bitch!" and called us vulgar, degrading names. BUT THE MOST DISTURBING PART INVOLVED MY 8-MONTH-OLD SON! While I was gathering my belongings to leave, a woman whom I believe was security GRABBED MY ARM AND PHYSICALLY PULLED ME TOWARD THE EXIT WHILE I WAS HOLDING MY BABY! She pulled me so forcefully that I NEARLY LOST MY BALANCE! I was terrified I might DROP MY SON! My baby was already frightened and screaming. I was simply trying to gather our belongings and leave safely. NO MOTHER HOLDING AN INFANT SHOULD EVER BE PHYSICALLY HANDLED THIS WAY! As if that weren't enough, Victoria and two other employees FOLLOWED US approximately TWO BLOCKS and across a parking lot, continuing to shout insults and derogatory remarks directed at us as Spanish-speaking women. Eventually, TWO POLICE CARS arrived! Restaurant employees apparently claimed we were intoxicated. After speaking with us, the officers did not appear to believe that claim. They spoke with the employees and allowed us to go on our way. Let me be clear: We came to enjoy authentic German food, NOT to be humiliated, verbally abused, physically pulled, or harassed down the street! A simple apology and replacement of the cold food would have resolved everything. Instead, the owner escalated a minor complaint into an outrageous confrontation. I own two other properties in this area and regularly recommend restaurants to my guests. After this experience, BODENSEE IS ONE RESTAURANT I WILL NEVER RECOMMEND! Helen is a beautiful town built on tourism and Southern hospitality. Visitors and locals deserve respect, regardless of how busy an establishment may be. NO CUSTOMER SHOULD EXPERIENCE THIS TREATMENT, AND NO PARENT SHOULD EVER HAVE TO FEAR FOR THEIR BABY'S SAFETY WHILE DINING OUT! Absolutely disgraceful behavior and a complete failure of customer service. ONE STAR IS ONE STAR TOO MANY!
