Dip trio was lovely. Will get again. Guac was nice and salty. Yellow cheese was delicious.

3-for-me: perfect for a light and impromptu dinner

We've been to some Chili's that -- to my surprise -- are delicious. We've been to some that are the pits. And then there's this location. Not bad! We darted in for a quick and casual dinner, hoping the '2-for-$25' option was available. Not here. But the '3-For-Me,' fit the bill and we both ordered the same thing. Margaritas, cheeseburgers and a salad. If you want a soft drink it's included. There's a $2.49 surcharge for margaritas -- and they weren't half bad. Salad is served in a little bowl making it cumbersome to eat. But we managed. Burgers come with fries -- I don't think you get a choice without paying more -- and to their credit, the burger was cooked exactly as requested: medium rare. You can get a slice of cheesecake for $2.49, but if you prefer their warm cookie a la mode -- which I really like! -- it's full price. You get gratis chips and salsa by using the tableside computer. We also had a waitress -- a nice gal who must've said "awesome" a dozen times -- and her support staff who brought ketchup, silverware, water immediately upon request. At 7:45 p.m. Saturday the joint was jumpin'. Despite the crowd, our wait was just minutes and we were well taken care of.

    Crispy Chicken Sandwich and Fries

Went to Chili's in Woodstock for dinner last night and was pleasantly surprised having not been to a Chili's in years. Service was fast, friendly, and attentive. Menu selections were broad and plentiful. Prices were reasonable. My wife thoroughly enjoyed her 3 meat fajitas though she wished the steak was cut a bit thinner. Taste and tenderness was on point for the steak, chicken, and shrimp. I had the crispy chicken sandwich with Ceasar Salad and fries. The salad was good with ample shredded parmesan though presentation was a bit lacking. Fries were quite good. Chicken was very moist and tender though a bit bland, but enjoyable overall as it was not at all dry and chewy. We very much enjoyed this Chili's location.

We chose a comfy booth and looked the menus over. The menu is not the largest I've seen in a Mexican restaurant and there was no "lunch menu," but the prices were good and I like the fact that you can order items a la carte. I chose chicken soup and an enchilada; my brother ordered fajitas. The food was delicious! My brother said the fajitas were the best he's had in a very long time and they were reasonably priced as well. My soup was lovely and the enchilada tasty. The chips here are also some of the best I've had in a while, super thin and crispy. At the end of our meal, we were brought a free dessert (sopapillas drizzled in chocolate with whipped cream on the side). Yummy! The service was also amazing. We will definitely return here when we're in the area.

The birria tacos didn't have a savory flavor profile and the consommé was watered down. I will say that the birria tacos did come with a lot of meat though! Not sure if I would come back to this restaurant.

Starting with the appetizers, you can go from a queso, guac and salsa trio to Edamame or Korean fried cauliflower, or some great fusion items such as Asian Nachos or my favorite, Aviocado Cilantro Egg Rolls. The salads and bowls lean into the concept as well, offering unique healthy and hearty options . The fun continues with the tacos. You can choose the Tsunami Trio, two tacos plus a side or The Quatto, three tacos and a side. The taco menu is creative and there's definitely something for everyone, but for those sophisticated beer drinking, cigar smoking vegetarians like myself, there are three great options: The Tofu Taco: Marinated and grilled tofu, topped with lettuce, soy sesame vinaigrette, shiitake mushrooms, roasted poblano and corn, andsesame seeds. The Garden Taco: Cilantro hummus, grilled peppers, onions, shiitake mushrooms, lettuce and topped withsoy sesame vinaigrette and sesame seeds. The Korean Fried Cauliflower Taco: Fried Cauliflower,Korean pepper sauce, cabbage, guacamole, chipotle sour cream, sesame seeds, cilantro. Taqueria Tsunami has a full bar with a good selection of beers and a clever cocktail list. Service is always great, and being located in the outlet mall, it's a great stop in your shopping, and the outdoor seating gives you a prime opportunity for some good people watching on a nice day.

Reservations: We didn't make a reservation ahead of time; not sure if you can. We walked in and sat ourselves since we went to the rooftop. If sitting downstairs or on the patio, we would've been immediately seated by the host. Parking: It's downtown Woodstock so parking can get tricky. We both lucked out in finding spots nearby and had a short walk to the restaurant. There is parking in front of the restaurant, but it's not likely that it will be available. Food: We ordered chips and queso; chicken fajitas; and the ensalada de verano with shrimp. I was hoping for a taco salad, but they don't offer that. Chips and queso were delicious. Would definitely get again. For those sensitive to salt, the chips may be too much for you. I love salt so they were perfect for me. My friend enjoyed her chicken fajitas. My salad was okay; I wouldn't order it again. The shrimp had a burnt flavor to it, and although I did appreciate the summer flavor of the salad overall, I wasn't impressed with the dish in its entirety. Drinks: We both ordered the Skinny Love. Mine was on the rocks and my friend got hers frozen. I thought it was fine - nothing to write home about though. Vibe: The rooftop is a fun spot. You get a view of downtown Woodstock, depending on where you sit. Be mindful it is outside so you may get bugs/flying insects pay you a visit. Our sever, Christian, was a vibe. Super nice, patient, and friendly. I also appreciated they had fans around the whole area, which they turned on while we were there and it made it more enjoyable due to the heat.

This place, however, truly delivers the authenticity you expect. Every detail was spot on. They use crema instead of sour cream, the enchilada sauce is thick and has a great spicy kick, and they stick with traditional staples like corn tortillas. You can tell they care about doing things the right way. Overall, the meal was outstanding--easily some of the best Mexican food I've ever had. The portions were very generous. The beans were creamy with a nice amount of cheese mixed in, and the rice was full of flavor--you could taste the chicken bouillon, tomato, and spices in every bite. Everything was topped with cotija cheese and served with a fresh, well-done salad. All of that was just $12 for a three-enchilada plate, which is an incredible value for the quality and portion size.
