Kimchi Butter Katsu Chicken and ube dessert
Isabel L.

The service was great , the young lady in the front was extremely helpful and sweet. She did a great job at promoting the app. The seating here is a shared outside common area with lots of shade and plenty of parking ! Moving forward to the food, I was disappointed! I tried the spicy katsu chicken . I'm not a fan of dark meat , it was mainly dark meat! Also it felt drenched in oil but I assume that's how it goes :( I would have preferred more crunchy breaded chicken vs drenched in oil :( I would be willing to try the shrimp since the seasoning it self seemed pretty good. Lastly , I did try the ube dessert pastry ( very tasty )

Heard the rave about this place and did not disappoint! Location is tiny but they have outdoor seating with other businesses. Didn't have to wait too long and service was nice. Plate looked so appetizing as shown in picture. Chicken was super crunchy and tasty. The Mac was also a perfect side with this and honestly really enjoyed it! Will def go back to try again

Kimchi butter for the win! It was my first time ever to try Shootz and I am now a big fan of Kimchi butter. This spot is known as the "original home of kimchi butter" and after you try at least one of their items with it, you will know why it is so amazing. I got to try several different dishes here and I loved each one! I first tried their Mixed Plate. You can choose the Mixed Plate to be regular or spicy. I chose mine as the regular version. It comes with kimchi butter katsu chicken and kimchi butter katsu shrimp, two scoops of steamed rice and one scoop of Mac salad. The kimchi butter katsu chicken was my favorite. The katsu chicken was perfectly crisp outside and juicy inside. Both the chicken and shrimp were smothered in the famous kimchi butter, which made the mains so savory and rich. I also really loved the Mac salad. It was so creamy and comforting. Equal in deliciousness was the Hot Kimchi Butter Katsu Chicken Sandwich. The same tasty and crispy katsu chicken was topped with Mac salad, creamy Kimchi aioli and brûlée brown sugar and placed in between two Hawaiian buns. So ono! This is now on the list of some of the best chicken sandwiches I've ever had. I also tried their Spam Brûlée Musubi. This is a spam musubi drizzled with kimchi aioli and brûlée brown sugar. It was umami packed and seriously addicting. Alongside all the savory food, I got a refreshing Strawberry Pineapple Lemonade. It was the perfect pair to all the delicious food. Last but not least, I had to try their ube beignets. I love both ube and beignets and so this dessert was a true dream come true. It was so airy, pillowy and sweet. Oh Shootz! I am a fan! This spot is amazing. One thing to note is that this spot is located at the Uptown Commons in Long Beach. The seating is all located outside so all the food is takeout. Also one other thing to note is parking can be a bit tough. It's totally worth a visit though.

The fried shrimp was out of this world good! The katsu too! They were both so crispy and the spicy sauce was a great accompaniment. I'll be back to this spot. The plates are big for the price!

Shootz was the 3rd stop of my friend's food crawl adventure in Long Beach. Such a unique twist on traditional Hawaiian food that you may be used to, but not lacking in any flavor whatsoever. Shootz was a little hard to find even though the corner sign on Atlantic Ave and E Artesia Blvd displays it's there. The restaurant houses itself in the steel shipping containers, similar to SteelCraft. It's one of two food places, the other one being a hot chicken place. You'll know you're in the right spot when you see the Wendy's outside too. The parking lot shares with Chase Bank and Starbucks, so finding a spot can be difficult. While the kitchen and space to order isn't large there is plenty of shared-covered seating between Shootz and the chicken restaurant. Their menu is simple, their signature Kimchi Butter Katsu Chicken, Shrimp, Chicken sandwich, and their Brulee Spam Musubi. They have plate options but we opted for one of the 3 family packs for 6 of us. This was massive, and while it says it feeds up to 4, it was more than enough for 6 with some even left over. Buttery slightly spicy, and every bit of savory this was amazing. Mac Salad was pretty standard, the brulee musubi was ok too (I'm a bit picky about spam musubi). Food was delicious. We also order this on a different occasion for a picnic and everyone loved it. The one downside of it was that the staff would seem to disappear from time to time with literally no one behind the counter or in the kitchen (There is a clear window you can see through from where you order). Because the fans plus music were loud you kind of have to shout which I hate doing, I don't want to sound rude. Really good twist on Hawaiian food.

Came here on July 4th 2:32 pm (closing at 3:00pm) and they were still able to get us some food Granted they're about to close, we weren't able to get their musubis the ambiance over is pretty chill. They got an outdoor seating area shared amongst a few other businesses! Great service too!! Pretty slow day so we got our food within minutes! Food is definitely a must try and "oh I'm coming back later" is the vyyyybeeeee!

I ordered the kimchi butter katsu chicken. I opted for the spicy version and in my opinion it was pretty spicy but still delicious! I may get the regular next time since there's no spice level to choose from. The macaroni salad was refreshing as well. It's located in a strange little steelcraft like area behind Wendy's. I actually didn't see it from the parking lot so I left the parking only to see the sign from the street side so I went back in to park. My order was ready on time and nice and hot. Server was very friendly and efficient as well.

Very good meal here! I got the spicy chicken and shrimp, and it was amazing. It comes with rice and mac salad also. It's a nice area they share with the main chicken hot chicken restaurant and other places i saw inside. They have a nice sitting area outside. This place is just pick up orders so no inside seating in the actual restaurant. Customer service was good. Also got the strawberry pineapple lemonade which was refreshing. Yes an automatic i will come back again and try other items! I forgot to get sauces as i'm sure they have many different kinds. Chicken and Shrimp Plate 9.1\10

It's worth a Hoot to eat at Shootz! Shootz located in Long Beach is a hidden Hawaiian gem for your taste buds. You can't see it from the street, so park and walk into the open-air courtyard with lunch tables, and you'll instantly feel the vibe. I ordered the Kimchi Butter Chicken Sandwich with macaroni salad and a 2pc of musubi. If you like spice, go for the spicy version because it will be a perfect balance with the mac salad. No graceful way to eat it, but honestly, that just proves how good it is. If sandwiches aren't your thing, you can also go for a plate: kimchi butter chicken, shrimp, or a half-and-half mix, all served with rice and macaroni salad. I'm definitely coming back for the kimchi butter shrimp plate, it looked and smelled incredible. For drinks, I chose the Mint Peach Limeade, which was refreshing and bright. The cashier even offered me samples of all three flavors before I decided (exceptional service.) Shootz is cashless, so bring your card. My food was ready quickly, and the manager, David, made the experience even better. Friendly, attentive, and genuinely positive. Good music, hot food, and amazing vibes make this spot stand out. I'll absolutely be back with my son who's a fried chicken sandwich fan. I know for a fact he's going to love this place. Shootz does it right, and it's worth every bite.

Got the ube dessert to-go. And it was really good, ube tasted authentic. Staff were kind. Parking was easy.

went here bc they were doing a rly cheap deal like i think it was $5 for the plate or smth? service was okay and the exterior/outside seating area was decent. anyway the food was good but super heavy and greasy. it rly needs smth fresh to cut through all that oil and heaviness. for that reason, i don't foresee myself coming back.

Mango tea Lemonade

Exceeds expectations every single time!! This is probably one of my top 3 places to eat. I got it delivered and food was hot and service was quick. And I get the same meal every time mixed plate (kimchi butter katsu and shrimp) and 2 pc spam musubi. I mix up the drink every now and again. The mango tea lemonade is so good and refreshing. The mixed plate is really good , hearty. Well seasoned , good portion. Spam musubi has this brûlée mayo on top add a nice flavor

My friend had mentioned that this place was good so I was looking forward to trying it out. I ordered a BBQ Chicken Plate Served with Rice + Mac Salad $13.82 (including tax) and was disappointed. The chicken was dry, and needed a lot more sauce. The cabbage underneath is basically raw. The white rice was also dry. The only good thing about this meal was the macaroni salad. This is part of a cloud kitchen that is poorly maintained. There is not even one person attending so if there are any issues, you are on your own. I tried calling the phone number but no one answered. I even tried texting the restaurant. Uber support did not help either. The instructions given for pick up from the restaurant via uber were poor so guidance is necessary. There are men loitering around the lobby that do not work there. The confusion regarding their purpose and intentions did make me feel a bit unsafe. It was probably not their intention but going into a tight alley, not knowing what to do, with no one that can help you and then running into a group of men would make anyone a bit concerned. Finally after figuring out how to check in, the order was not even ready even though the estimate already said it was ready. It seems like the order didn't get started until I checked in. So, I had to wait longer for my order, which again is an issue due to the loitering. There is also no parking near the lobby so it is a terrible place and area to be waiting. Not only are those men loitering but there are other drivers loitering in their cars in the alley for orders so it is hard to drive through. Having the cloud kitchen staff at least one person would help and/or a security guard to keep the alley and lobby clear could significantly help all businesses operating out of there. Although this is mainly an issue with the cloud kitchen itself, it is something that this particular restaurant can work on. Had the instructions been clear via the app, I would not have this issue. Additionally, they could have answered the phone or texted back, but did not.

I've continued to return because I genuinely enjoy the atmosphere, food, and especially their classic tiki cocktails. Unfortunately, as much as I love what this place has to offer, the service continues to be its biggest downfall. During our most recent visit, we arrived as a party of four and requested a table. The hostess immediately responded with a dismissive and rather rude attitude, informing us that nothing was available and that the wait would be three hours. Three hours for a table at a relatively small bar? I've been coming here for years and have never experienced anything like that. Rather than offering any alternatives or making us feel welcome, we were simply told to wait by the bar. Fortunately, another guest was kind enough to offer us her seat at the bar. Once seated, we attempted to order food and drinks, but the experience didn't improve. The female bartender seemed completely uninterested in assisting us, almost as though ordering food at the bar was an inconvenience to her. There was little hospitality, no sense of urgency, and certainly no effort to make us feel welcome. The food was delicious, as always, and the cocktails were enjoyable, especially at happy hour prices. Unfortunately, those were the only highlights of our visit. What frustrated me even more was the bill. Nowhere on the menu did I notice any mention of automatic gratuity for a party of four. Yet, when the bartender handed me the check, he casually stated, "Gratuity is included." I was genuinely surprised to see an automatic 20% gratuity added, especially considering the level of service we had received. I have absolutely no issue tipping generously for good service, but automatically adding 20% without clearly communicating that policy beforehand, particularly for a party of four, was disappointing. As someone who has worked in the hospitality industry for nine years, I understand firsthand how demanding this business can be. I know that busy shifts happen, wait times can be unpredictable, and employees have difficult days. However, none of that excuses dismissive attitudes or making paying guests feel like an inconvenience. Hospitality is about more than simply taking orders and delivering food. It's about creating an experience that makes people want to return. I genuinely hope the owners and management take the time to address these concerns with their staff. The Bamboo Club has so much potential, and its kitchen and cocktail program clearly deliver. Unfortunately, great food and drinks can only make up for poor service so many times. It's incredibly disappointing to write this review about a place I've supported for years, but loyal customers should not have to continuously overlook poor hospitality just because the food is good. Two stars, and quite frankly, the food and cocktails are the only reason it's getting them.
