My wife and I stopped in here for an early dinner today and really enjoyed it. We'd never been here before but had heard good things about it. Smelled great as soon as we walked in which is always a good sign. I ordered the judges platter which allows you to sample a variety of their offerings. Brisket was super tender and flavorful with a nicely defined smoke ring. Ribs were on point and fantastic. Pulled pork was good, but a little dry. My wife had the rib tips and thought they were great. Don't really need sauce for anything we had except for the pulled pork, but the 4 sauces we tried were solid too. I had a side of beans which were also good. We will certainly be back again if we're in the area and in the mood for some BBQ. Recommend you check it out for yourself. read more

The food here was down home delicious because the rib tips were tender, meaty and juicy, and the sauce was excellent, the chicken off the bone was juicy and tender I give the chicken an 8 out of 10 and the pork links were juicy, had great spice & flavor they were definitely a 10 out of 10! What was interesting yet odd at the same time is they serve your food by the ounce for instance they take a link and weigh it and charge you by the ounce not a big deal but just sort of odd to me. We had spinach and mac & cheese for our sides and the star of the show was the spinach it was seasoned to perfection!!! I think what would've made my experience even better is if the food was warmer, it came to our table lukewarm not really hot. When you enter the restaurant, you think you've entered a cowboy Texas southern atmosphere some of the seats in the restaurant are actual horse saddles. Good food not hard on your wallet! OPEN WATERS Expect a feeding frenzy when you bring home barbecue from this Naperville joint. Sharko's BBQ shares a strip mall on the corner of Route 59 & Hassert with Poke Bros, Johnny's Red Hots and Warhammer (nerd alert!) I've placed 2-3 pickup orders since we moved to Bolingbrook a few years ago, it's been solid quality each time. We recently shared the judges plate ($18) that comes with 2 ribs, 3oz pulled pork and 3oz chopped brisket, plus choice of side. To the shock of my wife and I, our 4yo annihilated those bbq ribs like a sabretooth tiger, gnawed down to the bone. And here I thought I'd have to heat up some chicken nuggets for our picky eater...... The awesome variety of sauces is where Sharko's really shines. Choose from 'sassy' (Memphis style sweet), 'shark bite' (original but spicy), Carolina (mustard style), 'pig splash' (cider vinegar), and 'great white sauce' (Alabama style tangy mayo). Each one is unique and boosts the flavor of the meat it's slathered on! A la carte sides are $2.75 and options include buttermilk coleslaw, creamed corn, garlic mashed potatoes, corn muffins, and spinach casserole (their signature side which is akin to a spinach pie). The baked beans were better-than-average with some nice chunks of brisket in there. Needed a touch more sweetness from brown sugar or maple - 4/5. I had high hopes for the whipped sweet potatoes, but there was something off about the taste that just seemed bitter. Nice smooth consistency (I'm usually SUCH a big fan of sweet potato stuff) but I genuinely have no clue what happened here - 2/5. The mac 'n cheese was excellent, noodles with densely-packed spirals trapping the creamy sauce in every bite. Perfection, no notes - 5/5. One drawback to ordering carryout is that you can't really take advantage of the soft serve machine stationed near the exit. I suppose you could grab a cone for the road or spoil your appetite by having dessert first, but I'm not letting ANYONE in my car with a live ice cream, not even the Pope (sorry Leo, you gotta finish that outside). * TL;DR * A bigger boat? Pffft, you're gonna need a bigger plate. As I continue the search for a premier barbecue spot near us (Q-BBQ and Uncle Bub's are too far), I'm glad I reacquainted myself with Sharko's. They have a slick selection of smoked and carved meats to pick from, with good sides, great sauces, and fairly reasonable prices. I enjoy Sharko's food. I enjoy the beef brisket as well as the pork. Last time I had a pork brisket cider and actually I like that even better than the beef brisket which is usually my favorite. I really like their homemade lemonade. It's a treat to go here. I would go here more often but it's almost a half hour from my house. Prices are also reasonable. They give you no food, no bread, "double" of Mac and cheese gives you almost nothing more than the single. The chicken was tasteless and dry. The turkey was just fricken deli meat in a box. There is lots to like at Sharkos with the sheer number of sauces and sides but my experience was disappointing. Everything was just pretty good except for the brisket. I didn't like the brisket. It was Sliced too thin for me as I like a juicy and moist brisket. Highlights include the ribs had a nice chargrill taste and the pork was a solid pork. The mac and cheese was really creamy. The beans were definitely made from scratch and not the doctored up Bush beans. The sauces were impressive. They had a sweet ketchup base called Sassy that they say is Memphis style and Shark Bite is the spicier version. They have a white Alabama sauce that they neglect to say is from Alabama (I'm from Alabama so I'm hurt haha) called Tidal Wave. There is a Carolina mustard that is made with Rosemary for a different kind of mustard taste. Then there is Pig Breath and Pig Wash. I can't remember which one is which but one is a vinegar style and the other is a mix of the Sassy and Mustard. Overall, it's solid except for the brisket. read more

The meat does not have any indicators of being smoked. I can let it sit in the container and after a 20 minute ride home and upon opening, there is no smoke smell from the ribs or the brisket. Reminds me of a crockpot brisket without liquid smoke. Several years ago, I stopped in and it was Kansas City good. Maybe they were bought out and gave up on actually smoking meat. Our Favorite Southern BBQ restaurant in Naperville. Pulled Pork & BBQ Ribs is a staple during our visits. Very unhappy about the whole experience and managers response. dinner was ruined and time was wasted. We have had many burnt edge brisket sandwiches in the past and they were tender and delicious asked manager to make it right did not even offer. We like to order the Pig Out for 4. I like the burnt ends and my husband likes sliced brisket. Their BBQ is good. I like the Shark Bite sauce, but Sassy is good too! They have good Mac n cheese and creamed corn. It's a little pricey but the food is good quality. My daughter catered from them for her wedding and the experience from taste testing to serving at the wedding was easy, professional and absolutely delicious. The wedding was June 21st, the first 100-degree day of the year, and it was in a tent. The chef walked around to the guess to ensure everything was good and the compliments were nonstop. The crew packed the leftovers for my daughter and the leftovers was just as delicious as it was fresh. The answering employee initially told me I could not speak to a manager...then the catering manager gets on the line (on speaker) told me and my family that she was too busy to handle my complaint. Then she asked if I had photos of the food to which my husband put her on video call... I showed her the food we received laid out on the counter. I asked if there was anyone else that is available to which she says "I can't handle this right now". I asked if I could talk to the owner then and she said his name is Rob Sharko and that "I've already told him about this and He DOESN'T WANT TO TALK TO YOU!" ---How could that be if I have only spoken to you?? ---How inappropriate to be asked for proof of food on a video call... as if I'm lying on EASTER of all days!! What a horrible experience and interaction to have on such a blessed day and in front of family. My parents raved about Sharko's BBQ during lent when they had the salmon. My husband and I decided to come here with our daughter. Even though the salmon was recommended, my husband and I both ended up getting the pulled pork sandwich. The bbq sauce was a little thin, but we thought it was tasty. The pulled pork was tender while the bun held up well to the meat. We got fries and mac and cheese for a side. The mac and cheese was creamy and the fries were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Absolutely delicious. They have paper towels to help with the mess. Service was nice and prompt. I do want to go back and try their salmon next time, but overall, a solid BBQ joint. read more

I don't know why I haven't left a review for Sharko's we've been going here since the places opened. We love their pulled pork and burnt tips. The pig out meal is a favorite of ours. The spinach sides with Mac and chews is always a favorite and we love the corn bread. Come thanksgiving we always order the smoked turkey breast. We haven't cooked a thanksgiving meal in years. This place isn't the sprawling resto once found on Ogden Avenue in Lisle, but it's a great take-out only place with fab Q and stellar sides. It's like a tended diner, with all the stuff behind the counter glass. No matter what you point to, it's going to be good. Ribs, Chicken, Brisket, Green Beans, Slaw--all of it top notch. Make sure you get the pickles. The acidic note matches the rich BBQ perfectly. There are a variety of sauces you can get as well. Try them all-you'll be glad you did. Ordered a TON of food yesterday. Totaling over $70, with tip. Got home and the brisket was so dry I couldn't even chew it. I thought, ok, maybe I could add sauce. Nope! Got rib tips and they were all bone and fat. I've had tips before and these were not tips. The kid at the counter was nice, the lady had no personality and I think she over charged me when she was writing my order down. Here's the ticker, I got super sick that night. Something was off. I barely ate as it was that day, and brisket was all I ate. I tell you I do not get sick. And I got really sick. I was at work all night dealing with it.
