Went to Backroads Burger & Bar last Monday night and really enjoyed the patio seating (the inside is soo dark). We were pleasantly surprised to find out apps were 25% off- which meant we had to try the pretzel. I think it may have been the biggest pretzel I've ever seen in my life. The outside was a melt-in-your-mouth fried texture with the inside being soft and doughy in the best way. Paired with any of the 3 dips, it made for the most delicious appetizer that essentially filled up our entire table itself. Special shoutout to the arse sauce & their honey mustard- sooo good. The table also tried the buffalo chicken wrap (YUM), caprese sandwich (good!), and penne alla vodka (somewhat mid but better as leftovers). Sweet potato tots were the perfect side. This was my third time here and they honestly never disappoint. Service & food always hit. My go to spot when visiting Plainfield! read more

9-19-26 430pm Wife and I wanted to try this place for the 1st time. It was busy but, there were tables available. The 3 young hostesses at the door were talking about where to seat us but then asked us, and here's where it goes wrong, can we be done within an hour? They claimed to have reservations at 5pm. You blow away a sure thing now for an unknown later. So if I wanted to be seated, served and done within an hour we would've went to McDonald's. Has anyone been, at a restaurant establishment been seated, served and finished in an hour. Back Roads management, ownership, you need to train your hostesses a little better. I decided to give this place another try. We had lunch with some friends who lived in the area and they recommended it to us. Luckily, this visit was much better We arrived right after they opened on Saturday afternoon. The location was easy to find and there was a decent amount of parking. For lunch, we shared the 1.5lb pretzel which was more than enough for our group of 5 1/2 people. As for my burger, I got their Blue Cheeseburger. Overall, it was a decent burger. The best house made burgers in the area. Bring an appetite and an open mind as the variety of offerings will blow your mind. My son's go to is the peanut butter & jelly burger. I am more of an American style of sorts, LTO extra onion and mayonnaise. The buns are fresh and toppings are cold or hot when they're supposed to be.The fries are delicious and made to order . We have never had a bad batch. The fish fry is hand battered and always fresh. There is quite a variety of items on the menu but I never get past the burger section. Went back to Backroads recently with my daughter and grandsons and I got my favorite burger I have ever had "The Bourbon Burger" and my daughter actually got the "That's My Jam" and said it was the best thing she has ever had. We had Loaded Backroads Barrels. This has to be my favorite burger place. And Lauren was our server and she was super friendly and on top of everything. She is definitely a people person!! Quality sports bar located in the far SW burbs. They have a lot of burger options, I got the STACS burger, which was quite good and big. They also have a pretty good craft beer selection, including a house ale even, which I got, it was a pretty good pale ale. I always like when restaurants have that. They have plenty of TVs to watch sports game, it seemed just about every NFL game was on, so a good place for viewing games. They have a bar section and several tables, lots of space. They also have their own shared parking lot with plenty of room. Idk how many other places are nearby, but this may be your best option in that area for sports get togethers. read more

We went in for the first time to watch cubs vs Sox game. It was busy, but the bar is huge so we got a seat no problem. There was a patio with a TV outside also, but decided to sit at the bar. 2 bartenders working and they seemed to be in top of everything. Just got some draft beer and ordered the Philly rolls for appetizer and burgers. The Philly rolls were just OK, they came with a side of salsa and queso, the queso was the best part. Burgers were awesome! I got the bourbon BBQ one with bacon and cheddar cheese, bourbon sauce was delicious, not too sweet. I got the mashed potatoes for a side, no gravy. This was my second time here. I enjoyed the Dublin Roundabouts more than my previous burger. However my companions who had the leid burger and another order of the Dublin Roundabouts weren't so impressed. They complained about the food being lukewarm. Also the waitress put in the wrong order twice. However it was hopping with lots of people in big groups celebrating the holidays. Really liked the food and atmosphere here. I had the Mike Bison which I don't totally recommend, just didn't have a ton of flavor and was a little over cooked. 5 stars Came to Backroads Burger and Bar on a slower Monday afternoon and had a great experience. They have an awesome selection of burgers with a really fun variety of flavors, so there's something for just about everyone. The beer selection is also impressive, with plenty of good options to choose from. I'd love to see an even broader selection of local beers to pair with some of the unique burgers, but overall, the choices were solid. The real standout, though, was the hospitality from Abby. She was incredibly attentive and made those little thoughtful touches that really make a difference. For example, I stepped away from the table right as our drinks were coming out, and she actually waited until I sat back down to bring mine instead of leaving it unattended while everyone else got theirs. Small detail, but it showed how much she was paying attention. Her recommendations were great, and her service made the whole experience that much better. Great burgers, good beer, and excellent hospitality. Definitely worth a visit. We came here for dinner over the summer and had a really great time! It was bustling and Backroads is your lovable neighborhood burger joint. We were seated at high tops during a "Singo Night" (music bingo) and I opted in to casually play and stamped my sheet when I heard a song played that was listed. There was indoor and outdoor seating available. It was sweltering hot so we chose indoor seating. There was a mix of families with kids, date night couples, friend groups, and (very likely) the Singo regulars having a ball at the bar. I was in the mood for a buffalo chicken wrap and asked if I could have it with a plain tortilla instead of a tomato basil flavored tortilla. Our server was really nice and was able to make the adjustment. My husband ordered a Stacs burger with onion petals which came with a side of jumbo potato wedges. Our food came out pretty quickly, even during one of the busiest nights, and their servers all seemed to be friends and worked together, were kind to customers and to each other. I've dined at Backroads three times now. The first visit was decent enough that I decided to return, but the third experience was really uncomfortable and disappointing. We were seated in a booth with a large party directly across from us that included several kids. What stood out most was one of the staff members running food, who was wearing very short Daisy Duke-style shorts that were quite revealing, showing a lot in front of families, kids, and other customers. It made for an awkward atmosphere, especially since this is a family-friendly spot with couples and children coming in regularly. I'm not sure if they enforce any kind of dress code for staff, but it felt inappropriate for the setting. I won't be returning or recommending it for double-dates. Food isn't bad but the service and ambiance isn't meeting expectations. read more

Always great food and service here. Today they went the extra mile. We sat outside. Yes it is 1000000 degrees but the space is shaded with fans. They also have a mister down the middle. It wasn't on and someone asked for it to be turned on. At first it was lovely. Felt like it was 10 degrees cooler. Then it started to get too foggy. Couldn't see the other side of the space. It was super super muggy and uncomfortable. Within in minutes it was turned back off. I was going to say something but they recognized it right away. I'm surprised there wasn't a thunderstorm! we got fried green beans. They were brought out by the owner who took our order too since our waitress had a 30 person group that all wanted seperate checks! He also took our order since she was busy. Back to the beans. I have now been here 2 times within a couple weeks of each other and I liked the food both times, but the service here is absolutely awful. The first time we had Connie and she rushed our order, was yelling at kids in the restaurant because they had a little too much excitement and while I may have thought they should settle down it's not her place to do that when the parents were already on top of it. Not to mention she isn't their parent. The second time was yesterday and we had Steph L. As our server and we got there around 5pm and it took 15 minutes to be greeted when her section only had 2 other tables who already were helped 1 eating and 1 whom needed to place an order. We have been here a few times. And enjoyed the burgers. We decided to go back as we knew they had BOGO burgers. As they have very steep prices. The server said it's BOGO wraps and sandwiches so we did that. Got the check and it's BOGO 1/2 off. We tried the cheese curds and for $16! They should have been the best ever. Standard Burger Bar restaurant. Service was very good but the food was just ok. The Philly Egg rolls looked and tasted more like larger Pizza Rolls. They weren't bad but I was expecting an Egg Roll texture. I got the Backyards Brisket which was good but it was drenched in sauce and the cream cheese made it so messy to eat.
