Last night was my first visit, and I can say that everything was great . But, what good is a review without any feesback, right? The only suggestion I have is for this business to post a note in the Maps app that they add a 3.62% charge when paying with a credit card . Thanks! read more

Anthem Ale House - Can you guys mention in the Maps App that you add 3.62% to credit card payments? - Sports Bars Near Me - Naperville, Illinois

Food was decent, female bartender was nice, male bartender was ok. When giving him my food order with 3 modifications on my burger, he rolled his eyes and told me to hang on bc that's too much. I get it, to an extent, I also work in the service industry but theres a way to talk to people. Also, I found a charge for a "tall" drink on my bill and when I asked what it was for, I was told "oh we charge when people ask for a tall" and he walked away as if its nothing. Sure, the dollar isn't going to make me or break me but why in the world would the average person want a double drink in a short glass.... Who decided charging more for a splash of soda cost a whole ass dollar extra? Keep your nickles and dimes at home or they'll take them. Pick your battles Anthem. read more

This is a place that tries to do many things and none of them too well, It does have a nice location dining room and bar area is nice, some outdoor seating available They don't do well beyond that, I was there on a Saturday evening Not really busy but service was slow the entire evening. Food was food good but not great for the price I was disappointed the craft beer selection. They did not have a nice variety that most other places that serve craft beer have. As a sports bar , there were lots of televisions But staff tended to keep changing channels during several of the games before they were over. The room was very loud, practically give you a headache loud. There was also kerakoe that night I dont have a problem with that but it added to making a less than enjoyable atmosphere in the place between sports on TV and the kerakoe. I would not likely to return here again read more

Anthem Ale House is of course a good place for a beer. For food not as much. It has typical jacked up prices like many of these slick brewpubs in shopping centers seem to. Even the beer selection can be limited when they're out of a few. There's also a long wait. Came in for some after work fun. It wasn't busy, which should have told us something after thinking about it. The beer was the star attraction, and basically the only attraction worth paying the advertised price. Has quite a few beers from local breweries. Let's give them credit for that. I had a couple good ones. The best was the Lagunitas Hazy Wonder. It's $7 a pint. This is an IPA that's densely hazy and slightly bitter, and slightly strong. As for the food, fuck. The only decent thing was the Hummus. It's $9 for a bit. This comes with a few hard ass pitas. Final thoughts on the experience. It has lots of good local beers, so it's a good place for sampling a few. The food blows, and the prices are whack. read more

Three stars for location and atmosphere. I met a friend for a drink before seeing a movie (Showplace is just across the parking lot). Anthem has a fun vibe--the bar is front and center and the music is just right. Staff was great. The thing is, if you love good food, this is not your place. I started with nachos. How can you go wrong? Chips were soggy under the yellow cheese substance. Chicken looked like the precooked cubes with grill marks. Meh. My friend and I both had a pink martini concoction with red raspberry vodka that tasted startlingly like cough syrup. (But I suppose we just didn't order right!) The tempura battered cookie dessert looked unique enough that we had to try it. It was okay. Kind of what you expect from a fried cookie. Honestly, the ice cream was the highlight of the whole thing. If you're looking for great bar food, keep looking. If you want a beer before a movie, this place works!! read more

Terrible experience. The place smelled like a dirty mop. The food was bland at best. The ketchup tasted like the bottle was used for other condiments. The whole place was grimy. We came because the burgers looked decent, but they were clearly frozen patties and had no flavor. The mayo bottle was something out of a horror movie. They charge you a fee if you use a credit card. They didn't know how to chop onions. The waitress we had was the only redeemable quality. read more

We came on a Thursday and got the $1 boneless wings, honestly the price was reflective of the taste. They were luke warm and lacking in flavor. They were also not very crispy and the sauces weren't great. Drinks and service were good but food was bad. read more

Food isn't that great. Poor waitresses get harassed/grabbed by men and the owner does nothing about it. Someone dined and dashed why i was there and the owner made the waitress pay their tab which is illegal. The poor young girl was the only waitress there and was very sweet and hardworking. Very shady place. I will never give my money to a place that treats his hardworking employees like dirt. read more

Stopped here for a quick drink. Nice place, friendly staff, nice beer selection. Pig Minds Joe Daddy IPA is a particularly good choice if you like a stout. read more

I ordered the chicken tacos and they were by far the smalled tacos I've ever seen. And there was literally one tiny piece of chicken per taco. They were 90% lettuce. Really overpriced for what I got. The server was nice. read more

amazing food and amazing service, would highly recommend to give this place a try ! ( we love the steak bites and cheesy rangoons )

Love this place! I really appreciated having Tiara as she made my experience extra special. Excellent service, great food, and fun conversations with Tiara. Daily specials are a good deal & a fun hangout spot! Thanks Tiara :) read more

This place was just really weird - the environment reminded me of a restaurant that would be on a "rescue" type TV show. Lots of mismatched decor, music was all over the place, and the menu was segmented between sushi, spaghetti, burgers, and...more Asian food. Our waitress was a sweetheart and did her best to be present and had a great personality, definitely the high point of our trip. The food wasn't horrible by any means but also wasn't worth paying what we did for a bagged salad with barbecue sauce on top. Perhaps the energy during sports games is different and more suited to the place but I highly doubt we will ever be back. read more

Came here on a Sunday afternoon and the food (chicken tacos) was fantastic but even more enjoyable was the service! We sat on the patio and enjoyed good food and great service. Great selection of beverages. Large selection of food options... I think having pasta dishes on the menu for an American/Asian fusion restaurant is a bit out of place but.. I haven't tried it so maybe it fits. Great food. Great place. read more

Wanted sushi after ten pm on a Friday and every place in the area was closed except here. Didn't expect much with it being an ale house but this was the best damn sushi I've had since moving to the burbs! read more

Service was great , but food was not good. The outdoor seating was nice. Wouldn't recommend.

The beer was a true delight ,Domaine Hefeweizen and the atmosphere was exceptional. I recommend this place for a buddy or mrs. get together!

This restaurant is ok. My husband ordered "worlds best stew" ...nope. Not even Aurora's best stew. Basically it was a pot roast dinner in a bowl. Dry. Very little sauce. My southwest salad was ok. Like any other. Just so so. Might go back. Handy by theater. read more

I traveled over an hour from the city to eat at this establishment and I must say it was 100% worth it! The food was absolutely delicious and the service was top notch (Shoutout our waitress Lea). Luckily, my friends and I came on a night where there was Karaoke and $4 pineapple shots! It was a great atmosphere in there and people of all ages were singing their hearts out during Karaoke. I definitely see myself making the drive out there again very soon. read more

Really a gem in the middle of a plastic stripmall wasteland. Especially dig the smashburger and steak sandwich on occasional special. Decent tap selection always in a chilled glass through clean gear. Can't imagine how anybody can give this less than 5 stars, especially with the suburban star bump. read more

This was my second time coming to Anthem Ale house and I was very impressed! The food was great, the ambiance was fantastic, and they even have KARAOKE!!! Service was quick and VERY friendly. Our server Allie was new, and she did a GREAT JOB. Extremely helpful, full of joy, and communicated very well. WE WERE IMPRESSED by this restaurant and by our sever. Will be coming here again! Keep it UP! read more

The service was great! Our waitress Miranda was attentive and food was really good. Will go back soon

First of all our sever Marlon was very good. We were happy with the service but then everything else went wrong... We ordered wings. Should be good and easy right? But no the food came out very slow I mean very slow when there were probably 4-5 tables. My boyfriend ordered boneless wings. I ordered regular wings both came out dry! Sauces tasted disgusting. Carrots and celeries looked like a month old that my boyfriend wouldn't eat cause he said he didn't wanna get sick. I have never been anywhere and hated the wings as much as this place. We ordered 3 drinks. They were good. These two stars are only for Marlon our server because he helped making things right for us. Money was never a problem but we felt a bit disappointed since we were really excited to try the new place... I don't know if we will be back.. food is the biggest problem and believe it or not most of people will be there to eat so you should consider changing the menu or do something about it.. read more

We used to frequent Tokyo Bay the preceding restaurant at this location quite frequently before it reopened as Anthem. At first we were sad with the closing but Anthem is a worthy followup to its predecessor. We ordered an assortment of Specialty Rolls but the star of the evening where the Philly and Salmon Skin Handrolls. We are looking forward to returning and trying several of the "fan favorites " which looked and smelled delicious as well. To top things off service is great and they have a great bar with several drafts on tap. read more

Just opened a few weeks ago, so we thought we would give it a try. First looked online for menu but the catering menu was the only menu we could find online. (As a Gluten free diner I always like to loom at menu ahead of time.) this was a sushi restaurant before changing it's name. So the interior looks a lot like a sushi place. Still has the sushi counters & glass, and Asian themed decor items, but now has big screen TV's and wait staff ware Muscle tees & Tank tops instead of traditional sushi robes. They have indoor and outdoor seating. We got there and were seated right away, I asked if they had a Gluten free menu host said "no" and no follow up phrase or discussion. The menu itself is difficult to read as it in not well lit inside, menu is black with white- ish text on it. A variety of choices are available for food and beer / ale, however is is clearly evident they don't prepare and make the food. Food was probably frozen til prepared. Ale's are brand ales, no options for their own brew. Food was basic pub fare but not inexpensive. We were 3 adults quesadillas, philly cheese steak sandwich, and appetizer of grilled tenderloins.( as a dinner for gluten free person) and a kid (ordered mac& cheese from kids menu) bill was $68. No adult beverages just water and 1 Dr pepper. Pricey for "meh" food. The sandwich was more bread and melted cheese than philly steak, the salsa that came with the quesadillas was awful, not sure why either ? Seemed dried out and weird spices to it. The tenderloins were very salty and no other flavor than salt. The kid liked the mac and cheese said it was yummy, but what mac and cheese is not ? Our waiter was friendly, but not attentive for the amount of patrons there at the time. He didn't offer up any suggestions for Gluten free options and didn't seem to be very knowledgable about the menu. 2 meals came out first then 5 minutes later the kids meal and the other adult meal came to the table, we found this a bit odd. The waiter even said oh the other plates will be out shortly as he delivered the first 2. read more

My first visit to Anthem Ale House. Kind of a modern/classy vibe, dark gray walls and beautiful wood flooring. Huge full bar and comfortable chairs. Lots of Flat screens to enjoy your favorite game and last night was karaoke. Lots of friendly customers and the staff was very attentive. There is a full glass wall that has a huge folding door that leads out to a beautiful cozy romantic Lanai/seating area with outdoor grills, more flat screens, and ceiling fans to help move that breeze if needed. Great menu choices! We ordered the ribs that were fall-off-the-bone delicious, potstickers and chicken fingers both with amazing dipping sauces! Definitely a return visit is in the works. read more

The staff needs help. I was there on a Sunday, and there just wasn't enough help. I believe they only had the bartender and another server working, and that is unacceptable. Shame on management for setting the staff up for failure. That said, the food was marginal. There is more, but I would rather give another review after they get the kinks worked out.... read more

TL;DR: So completely disappointing. Longer version: Living in the Aurora/Naperville area, you tend to believe that there are not going to be sub-standard restaurants around, because you just need to be really good to survive. Unfortunately, this is one of those places that you can predict will be gone in a few months if they don't correct their current trajectory. Saturday night at 7:00 and half of the tables were empty--that should have been a red flag. Considering the location, it should have been packed. We should have reconsidered at that moment. Mediocre food (yes, it's generic Sysco fare), greasy, slow service, inattentive server, bad music and quite overpriced. I wouldn't call this an "ale house" at all, either. It's a restaurant that has a bar. We were pretty shocked to have such a low opinion of this place. Even the kids were disappointed. Not some place that we would go back to, unless it's under new ownership as a new restaurant next summer. read more

Went there for a Friday lunch. We ordered wraps. They were VERY small and the chicken was poor quality. They also didn't come with fries or anything else, and for $11 it should. Overpriced, small, poor quality food. The inside also hasn't changed much since the switch over from Tokyo Bay. Probably an ok place if you want to grab a beer before the movies, but don't eat there. read more

Good Service, decent beer specials, BUT my hamburger patty was precooked then microwaved! The menu read like it was written by a Sysco Food Systems sales rep. Nothing original or new on that menu, mostly overpriced (probably frozen then deep fried or nuked) yuck with high margins. High margins don't mean a thing if people don't order the food. On the Positive, the sound for the Monday night football game was excellent! Top notch sound system! A lot of places have crappy sound and they just crank the volume up to compensate. Very Nice TVs too! Also, it's very clean and the service was good. I will return and watch sports, but I will only drink beer and not eat. read more

So disappointed to have to leave this review my wife and I love this place but after today we will not be back. The patio after asking is suppose to be non smoking and the staff allowed people to smoke. I am not sure what the situation was but it definitely ruined one of our favorite places. This was exasperated by the super slow service we received outside. We definitely will not be back. read more

Long Wait And Watered Down Root Beer Ordered The Mini Meatballs They're Not Fresh They're Frozen

The sushi was great and the wings were awesome, but that's where the good review ends. The prices for everything are ridiculous for what you get. $9 for chips and salsa that I'm pretty sure they got from the movie theatre across the street (barely any chips to an order and the salsa was pico, not salsa). My daughter's burger was $14 and looked like it had been microwaved, as it was rubbery and cold. The service was also terrible -- our server barely made an appearance at the table after we got our food and took over 20-minutes to bring us our check. We won't be back. read more

I went there after work to have a drink and some dinner. After looking at the menus, I decided there was no way I was going to pay that ridiculous price for any food. So I finished up my drink and got out of there. One mixed drink $13, what the fuck. Nothing special about this joint except for outrageous prices. read more

Food was great! I had mini tuna sliders and a cup of soup on a chilly night. The sliders were served with a garlic aioli, slaw & caramelized onions -omg delicious !! Soup was home made by the chef. Better than Mom's! My drink -a custom cocktail amazing! Thank you George! The bar ambiance is cheerful & staff are friendly. There are plenty of tables for families to relax at and enjoy great pub fare at Anthem. Also they have karaoke two days a week and plenty of tv's to watch games from. The menus is varied: burgers, salads, pastas, pizza, tacos & much more. Delicious Food; great service & congenial atmosphere! Go there! You will be happy you did! read more

Went in for a late dinner. This place is outrageously priced. $7.75 for a domestic draft. You have got to be kidding me. The food was awful to say the best. The salad looked like a bag salad they bought at a grocery store and put it in a bowl. Now it's $16.99. I for the Buffalo chicken sliders. No thank you. Low quality chicken and dry. After leaving there I felt like someone robbed me. read more
