What do I like in a wing??? I LOVE LOVE LOVE a crispy skin that could shatter like glass. Could you get that kind of product in a "smoked" wing??? Probably not. You HAVE to take the extra step by putting that smoked wing in the fryer to crisp up the skin. HOT DAMN, THEY DID IT!!!! I always go with a dry rub and get my wing sauce on the side because I NEED that crisp. So... Now I'm happy. Round 2 was the "Beef Stromboli" Basically, a highly elevated Hot Pocket. I asked the gal, she said they make their own....Ummm WOW) with a mozzarella.... that I KNOW... they are shredding themselves. You can't get this kind of cheese pull if you're ordering from your food distributor pre shredded. It came with the beef gravy and gardinera complimentary. I like my gardinera a little bit milder but, I didn't ask if they had the option for something less kick. I wish my tolerance was better for heat because I did eat some. Fried my mouth, the taste... KICK ASS. I only order my food in the way that THE RESTAURANT wants it to be served. If I don't like an item, I pick it off. Knowing what I know with my own kid working as a chef, I'm the LAST ONE who wants to complicate the server OR the chefs. So technically, if I want to split hairs, maybe offer a mild gardinera? We paid the 2 dollar up charge for the vodka sauce. Friends! These folks need to BOTTLE that vodka sauce because.. I would be a buyer. If you are looking for a local restaurant bar/grill with awesome American-style food with a lively sports ambiance, Crazy Pour is your spot. Ordered the full lb wings ( 12 ct.) with half Mango Habernero and BBQ. These two flavors have always been a favorite and they never disappoint. The BBQ is not too sweet, just perfect to slap on your favorite BBQ meal. Redeemed the ' Crazy Shot' that you get with your Yelp check-in and it was .. interesting. My experience looked to be promising as the bartender knew the menu. Then everything went downhill. Ordered a double smash burger that was a double disappointment. Instead of two thin beef patties as the menu claimed, it was a double burger that was frozen. The Cajun fries were okay. I ordered a PBR on top that was also a disappointment. It was coolish not at all cold, and tasted flat. The glass was not beer clean so it lost its foam quickly. Watching a bar back doing dishes I saw that health code was not being followed as there was no sterilization. Ordered a loaded baked potato as the burger sucked and I didn't eat it, and that took at least 20 minutes. When it arrived the middle of the potato was solid and the bacon was burned ground and put on top. Messing up a baked potato is new to me. All the while I waited I cad company. Not from the bartender that started strong as her regulars came in and I couldn't even get a second drink. It was the fruit flies as the taps aren't cleaned. This could be a fun place if it had edible food, better trained staff, and product that fits the menu. Until then I would avoid it. read more

Hello My FoodZies, today on a recommendation from my good friend Al Stubenvall we went to Crazypour in Villa Park at 105 e North Ave. I have to say it was very good. It's the usual loud sports bar with a ton of TVs and a bunch of cheering fans. Our waitress Hailee was exceptional. She was attentive, knowledgeable, pleasant and had a good sense of humor. We started our meal with the Johnnie's beef eggrolls (not sure if it had any relation to Johnny's in Elmwood Park) which came with marinara sauce, giardiniera and for $.50 more, we added the au jus (which is crazy because you would think the au jus would be free but I digress). They were very good stuffed with mozzarella cheese and plenty of beef. The giardiniera was just right with its spiciness, and the au jus was very good and the marinara was pretty good too. Glenda ordered the southwest crispy chicken wrap, which was also pressed in what appeared to be a Panini press leaving nice grill marks and adding crunch to the wrap. It was accompanied by Cajun fries. They were flavorful; but for me could use a little more spice after all, they are called Cajun fries. I partook in the double pub burger with grilled onions, which came with raw onions, tomato lettuce, and a phenomenal, spicy aïoli, so good I bought some to take home, we also tried their wings; both bone in (which they say are jumbo, but not really); and boneless with honey barbecue sauce, which had a nice sweetness, smoky flavor to it, and mango habanero sauce. Habanero sauce could've been a little spicier, but it was smooth and tasty. We had a great time and will definitely be going back. P.S. it also has a nice outdoor seating area with a big fireplace. This was the first time we've experienced an issue with the hostess not listening. The young lady, who appeared to be no older than 17, did not accommodate our request for a table for five men. Instead, she insisted we sit in a booth and pull up a chair, despite our request to be seated at one of the two empty tables in the bar area. As regular customers who visit weekly and typically spend over $200 each visit--and who are on friendly terms with the wait staff--we found this frustrating and disappointing. Just came here for a couple of drinks before meeting a couple of people for dinner at another restaurant. So this review might be a little premature as I didn't order any food - and the food that I did see looked pretty good. So I'll have to go back for that and update this review as needed. With a name like "Crazy Pour" - I was expecting a really wide variety of draft beers. The variety was OK - but nothing to write home about. I ended up getting a couple of ciders - and enjoyed them. My friend ordered a Negroni. The first one came out fine, but the second one was a little off. He asked the bartender - who had replaced the initial bartender - she said she made it as asked for. But then she went and looked at her speed rail and realized she had grabbed the wrong bottle. She graciously acknowledged her oversight and made a new drink - the right way. As for the place itself - great sports bar atmosphere along with places to bet. Glad I stopped here as I'll be coming back to check the food out. Had dinner here with a friend on Wednesday evening. Drinks selection is good but I was disappointed when the Old-Fashioneds that he and I ordered only filled the glasses 3/4 of the way. I get that you don't want the glass filled to the brim because you don't want your server to spill it when he or she brings it to the table but I honestly felt like we were being slightly ripped off. We ordered a Drunken Ginger Man after dinner, and it was very good and did not have this issue. Food was good. We shared some nachos and salsa. Salsa was a little hotter than we both like it. We also shared two of the large meatballs and both agreed that they were very tasty. By that time we were fairly full and decided not to order entrées so he had a bowl of chili and I had the small portion of the chopped salad. Service was good. Parking was difficult because it's hard to get into the parking lot. We had no idea that there was more parking behind the restaurant. Would've been helpful if we knew that. We both ended up pulling into the entrance by the liquor store to the left of the restaurant and had to go back out onto North Avenue and do a U-turn in order to get into the restaurant parking lot. Next time we're in this area, we will probably stop in for a drink before we go to Firewood BBQ. Easier access to their parking lot. Better menu. But sadly, they don't serve alcohol. read more
